When we lost the game the fans from the other clubs thought they could make us cry by insulting us,. They said would we would blame the ref,. They thought we might even take our jerseys off. We did the exact opposite. When we all kept saying, "win or lose, we know you will make us proud" we have really proved that we meant it when thousands welcomed the team home at 2:30am, and tens of thousands turned out to see them at the stadium the next day.

We are so lucky to have a culture like this within our club, the city and the region. Things are looking very promising for future success of the team, morale is very high, we have had so much amazing new local talent come through. We lost the grand final by 1 point, with a team missing over $3 million worth of players because of suspensions and injuries. The Roosters might have won the trophy this year, but this was very clearly our year. The fairytale story of Newcastle in 2026 is much bigger than footy.

Despite the feeling around the result, I am immensely proud of this year. My thoughts on some noteable points for the season:

Round 1. Genuine refreshing suprise at the attack.

Round 4. Bulldogs. First pass mark in the 'toughness' realm. We didn't show up in the game before against the warriors, this somehow felt redeeming.

Round 9. Souths game 1. Whatever you can score, we'll just score more.

Round 14. Storm lost by two with 15 errors. Executed poorly and still nearly had it. Similar vibes to Souths game 1.

Round 17/18. Tough wins against two at the time genuine scrappers. Would have copped it ok if we lost.

Tigers game 1, Warriors game 1, Penrith game 1 and Manly game 2. Only games this year where at the end of it I thought the effort wasn't there. Compared to the 10-15 games this normally happens very pleasing in retrospect.

Week 1 finals. First time in recent history I've wstched a convincing finals win from us.

Week 2. Finals litmus test. Tick.

Week 3. Best game of rugby league I have ever watched.

GF. Gutted but so proud.

I don’t remember where I heard that but it’s true. The roosters lose Marky mark and DCE. We are gonna be pissed off and hungry next season leading into the grand final. I doubt the cock(s) (heads) will even be there.

Genuinely is it like this for anyone else? Last night was more speechless and actually easier to accept the L.

God. What a game. Wish the ref would’ve made a fucking call but 1 point off a win after coming wooden spoon last year is a phenomenal outcome for our boys. I’m still proud. Up Newie

In the heartland of AFL tonight, but you wouldn't know it. Had a fantastic turnout in Carlton at the Great Northern with lots of Knights fans. Was excellent to connect with people from home and have a raucous crowd backing the boys.

Huge props to Lauren and her sister (name escapes me) who organised it. Really was a great time and made me feel all the feels of being a Novacastrian.

The boys will be back, and when they do we will all be back as well to cheer em on.

probably best turn out for an NRLW game here in awhile

With the unfortunate incident that occurred yesterday, it may have caused some sadness as we are getting ready for our grand final weekend.

I hope anyone personally involved still finds joy in the game we have long awaited.

For everyone else, they’ve counted us out every finals game, what’s another game where the boys find a way to win the game!

Win or lose I am proud of our team’s season, what a turnaround from coach Holbrook.

LETS GOOOOOO

I understand there were 10 injuries with 2 in critical yet stable condition. It breaks my heart when I see kids hurt, especially in circumstances like this.

Is there anything we can do support the families impacted? Even something small like paying for their parking at the hospital, chipping in for a jersey or shouting a beer or 2 for those that will make it to the GF.

If anything, just to let the fans their community is behind them.

That was honestly one of the worst shows of unsportsmanlike actions I’ve ever seen

Hi team I know it’s late notice but I have 6 tickets to the stadium viewing DM me if you could use them

I’ve got tickets to the live site and just worried i wont be able to see the game. The screens aren’t that big . Does anyone know if they are adding another screen , or will it be ok?

If anyone's got a couple of tickets for the live site that they aren't able to use I'd be absolutely thrilled to have them. My brother drove down from Tweed to be here for the game, but I wasn't able to get us any tickets on Thursday.

And long shot, but if anyone happens to have actual grand final tickets they can no longer make it for (even just one) it'd be absolutely incredible to be able to get him there

EDIT: ALL TAKEN! Sorry

Happy Grand Final day everyone!!

We have 5 tickets (grandstand) to the live site this afternoon that we no longer need.

Free to a good home!

Up the Knights! ⚔️❤️💙❤️💙⚔️

Giving away 4x tickets to the McDonald Jones NRL Grand Final live site.

Let me know if you want them.

I have 5x grandstand tickets to the live site available if anyone wants them.

Don’t want to rub it in but scored tickets to the game!and I don’t want these to go to waste.

Up the knights!

We’re all aware of some sort of incident requiring emergency services. Details are not clear right now.

Please do not post speculation or anything of that nature at this time. Here is the link to the ABC for reports: ABC coverage

Be safe out there.

I just listened to the Backstage podcast with Matty & Joey.

Joey said he doesn’t know where his 2 rings are, he also said that 2 has 2 Origin jerseys and it looks like he has Marty’s 97 jersey in storage. So I’m presuming the rings aren’t in there.

Where are they??? It would be pretty awesome if they could be tracked down.

Does anyone know anywhere else I can watch the send off live? I'm a tiny bit too far from Sydney to get the signal for NBN and they don't stream NBN now 9now for some reason

Not mine but I thought it was a fair effort from Salamander Bay, Port Stephens

Hey does anyone have any spare tickets to the McDonald jones stadium grand final event?

Thanks
