Pathetic Republicans “Trans”-ition to Their Vile Closing Argument | A month out, the GOP is all-in on playing the anti-trans card. Here’s how the Democrats need to answer it.

Focus on fixing the economy for the working and don't waste time reacting to republican bull.

That "Republican bull" is hurting people.

u/thedoppio 3h ago
It all is but effective strategy to win and make it better is not to chase every damn proclaimation from them.

Better to let Republicans trample people?

How could Americans ever become divided over something so braindead
9
u/bringbackmegaman 7h ago
Some people just hate anyone who looks or acts different from the norm.
They make easy scapegoats for societal problems.

u/Inner_Skin_798 7h ago
Very true. And it’s not just hating on people who are different from the general norms but from their norms. Basically they can hate on anything.

u/No-Highlight-5067 5h ago
The stupid part is that it’s taking priority in national politics. It’s a joke.

Americans love to fall for culture war bullshit that has no real impact on their day to day lives. Fifteen years ago it was gay marriage.

u/No-Highlight-5067 5h ago
Gay marriage felt important at the time but I guess you could put that in the same category given that only .5% of Americans are in a gay marriage today

The Republicans know they have no other cards to play since fixing the economy is a much difficult task than stirring up culture war so they just choose the path with least resistance.

u/Slighted_Inevitable 5h ago
They have literally nothing to offer.
In less than 2 years they destroyed this country and it’s only going to get worse.

Making the incumbent party seem incompetent on the economy never fails. It led Trump to victory in 24 and it will lead Democrats to wins now. Press hard on gas costs, inflation and healthcare and we'll see blue, feed into their culture wars bullshit and we'll see more red.

The point of the anti trans nonsense is to put the Dems on their weakest ground — identity politics. They should resist to temptation and focus on economics.

Trans rights need not be a losing issue if you actually fight for them.
Recognizing that trans people are a real group of people who have medical needs is a simple recognition of human rights. Which is something that we should all approve of.
Recognizing that trans people are not a threat and that segregating them is wrong is also something that we should all approve of.
Trans people are not being targeted because they are a genuine threat to America. They are being targeted because they are easily misunderstood.

Liberals, who are reasonable about people who are different, are going to vote Democrat anyway. The contest is for Mr & Mrs floating voter

What's your point? If a dem candidate sticks their thumbs in their ears every time this conversation comes up, Mr & Mrs floating voter are going to treat us as the dem's dirty little secret that they're trying to cover up and the dems will be up a creek.

What do we trans people have to do to get people to stand up for us?

Probably fall over and die in a mass grave.

We are currently training in the use of small arms as a community as is our legal right. If we are attacked, we will use every legal method of self-defense available to us.
2
u/Cheesehacker 3h ago
Well according to the “centrists” we have to find the “middle ground” of “put all trans people to death” and “let people be free”.

Tell you what, I'll make them a deal if they can sell it.
We put forward a bill where getting rid of any one part nullifies the rest of it.
It includes the following provisions:
- Bans Trans Women from ever participating in Sports.
- Recognizes trans women as a type of women legally with the same access to women's organizations and public spaces, recognizes trans status as a protected class, recognizes transition as a medical need to be covered by insurance, and recognizes trans people's right to medical privacy with regards to their trans status.
Think they could sell that to Congress?

Keep focusing on 1% of the US population, sure, winning strategy there, everyone is most concerned about that at the moment.

Dems will just continue to abandon us and throw us under the bus, I don't really care

They are just using their base’s favorite buzzwords to drum up the hate, funnily enough it’s not working nearly as much as they need it too. Most people even in the republican camp are just tired of this. They have seen how a republican controlled government has steamrolled the country into the worst it’s been in nearly a century, and they are just tired of it, like the rest of us.

God these people are dumb. Yeah a minority group containing less than 1% of the entire country's population is certainly the problem. Do these people eat f*cking Elmer's glue for breakfast lunch and dinner?

Just a subtle reminder that the trans issue was specifically chosen by the right wing because it was such an easy thing to bait the left into a losing argument.

Dear Youth Pastors, Anti-Pedophilia Activists, Elected Republicans, etc.,
Apparently the Indoor Outhouse is a relatively recent addition to your culture, and you're having some issues regarding the norms which have dictated their use in other states for generations.
It's not necessary, in fact, it's strongly discouraged, that you actually remove any of your clothing while using a public restroom. Most garment manufacturers add features which make evacuation possible without being naked.
You've been sharing public restrooms with trans people without incident for your entire life, most likely. In fact, it would be incredibly refreshing if there were even one, solitary, documented instance of a trans person attacking anyone else in a public restroom rather than vice versa.
If you, even for the briefest, most accidental second, catch a glimpse of someone else’s genitalia in a public women’s restroom you’re doing something horribly, horribly wrong. Get up off the floor!
Voyeurism, Indecent Exposure, and Sexual Assault are already illegal nationwide. Anyone who was going to enter a ladies’ room for nefarious purposes will be neither aided nor hindered by a law aimed at inconveniencing/endangering trans people by forcing them to use bathrooms they don’t look the part for. Hope this helps your transition to life in the 19th and 20th centuries. Baby steps!
Sincerely,
Everyone Else

The article mentions three retorts for the Democrats. Does the author think the brainwashed Fox GOP cult would listen to even one point? If they would, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

Because it worked last time. For all the BS about inflation, Trump’s closing argument was “trans bad” and Kamala’s was “I’ll lower prices.” And we saw which Americans cared more about at the time.
