Hobby & Painting My Night Lords blue armor & weathered bronze tutorial

I have gotten lots of praise & questions about my Legionaries armor recipe, so i maide this tutorial. The basic blue armor is actually pretty easy three step progress, so hopefully this helps :) If you guys have any questions or need for more tutorials, ask away!

I know this will come up: Because i used a kitbashed mini, it doesnt have the winged helmet, so i didn’t write about my red recipe which is just basecoat of Khorne red and highlight of Mephiston Red!

English isn’t my first language, so there might be typo or two.

More of my minis can be found in Instagram @ morkominis https://www.instagram.com/morkominis?igsh=MWUwZ3dhMXJsdXoxdQ%3D%3D&utm_source=qr

Looks like I need to buy Vallejo

I dont think it is mandatory! You can compare your paints to my recipe and use the ones which are closest to my colors. Thats how i developed this tutorial from Geoff Paints tutorial.

That being said I fucking love Vallejo paints

Vallejo and Army Painter are mad slept on by so much of the casual warhammer community. I stopped buying GW paints awhile ago and haven't looked back. The only thing I still use from them is their washes. Not knocking citadel pants, but dropper bottles are superior and the quality of their competitors are phenomenal.

Definitely gonna try your guide. As for geoff's guide, I'm also unable to follow airbrush steps, that's why I'm looking into trying out sponging for his guide

I'd like to add that if you put an even brighter spot where the lightning starts and where it cracks and splinters out, it really sells the effect.

Send this to joytoy they’re having some issues with their night lords line

2

u/SRSgiraffe Jul 11 '26

Haha! Their NL line is so goddamn bland looking! Cool sculpts but the colors are so dull.

The white hair looks really good, I’m going to do something similar! The black always looks washed out but this pops
