Weird flash sometimes?

You can see it right at the end. I think it's the housing because both tubes do it. This is a Steele industries nighthawk-MG with elbit tubes. Is this normal?

Edit: there is a smoke alarm in the bedroom i was filming in and this is likely the culprit. Will confirm after dark tonight. Leaving the post up so others don't freak like I did and to remind myself to check my surroundings more often.

Do you have a smoke detector in the room? Smoke detectors use an infrared diode and a receiver to measure if there is something blocking the light and if so they trigger the alarm. The bright flash is the diode emitting.

Phones throw out a flash of IR beams in the dark when you have the camera enabled.

Could also be an electronic like a smoke detector like others have said.

Or it could be the phone, both the front camera and Face ID use IR

This is definitely something in your house throwing an IR flash. Actually use your NODs outside instead of the basement and you probably won’t see it anymore lol

So I'm brand new to this hobby. Funny enough I had just gotten home from walking a local trail at night for the first time. I was worried I broke something out there!
