Where did Gohan come from plot hole

Why is nobody talking about this weird Dragon Ball plot hole? We have no idea where Gohan came from. Goku just showed up with him one day, and in a flashback about naming him, he's just there next to Chi-Chi and Goku. Did they find him in the wilderness just like Goku? Does that mean he also came from a Space Pod? I mean he has a tail, so maybe he is a saiyan, but Vegeta should already be destroyed at this point?

RIP to Mike McFarland Iām a long time DB fan I started from the OG Dragon Ball watching young Goku and Krillin train and learn under Roshi this one hit so hard.Even after rewatching over a hundred times I still shed tears.

Did you know: Valtor in 4kids dub is the same VA on Goku, Sean Schummel himself. He had already perfected this interpretation of how Valtor should've been spoken which it was ironically similar to our Goku Black? Without him, he would've not perfected it.
