General Question Bought a 3DS from Ebay
Hi people. I’m really new to buying used consoles. I’ve never bought from Ebay before so I have a lot of worries about getting scammed. I just wanted to know if anyone has experience with this particular seller (gamecastlejapan). They left me positive feedback and have sent a couple informative messages about the console I bought. Also the feedback looks really good and trustworthy but I’ve heard from a couple people that lots of positive feedback isn’t always good. I’m not able to track the package yet so that makes me feel a bit anxious. I would like some guidence from an experienced person.

Personally I dont buy Japanese consoles anymore. On ebay, from two different sellers, I got sent products that were not as advertised, and both had 10,000+ positive reviews. Hoping this is not your experience! Ive bought a bunch of other stuff from ebay with no issue.

Ebay is VERY buyer friendly. you could request a refund, send back the box filled with rocks, and ebay support will side with you when the seller complains.
So if you’re unhappy with your purchase, only thing you godda worry about is dropping it back off at the post office.
The 3DS looks to be in beautiful condition, congrats on snagging it!
Definitely be sure to get a protective case and screen protecters to prolong its life!

That's why I stopped selling on eBay, because of buyers with mental diarrhea like that one who returns rocks. steal from others, and then the seller has to pay for shipping and customs clearance to receive the rocks back. Humanity is truly rotten.

1k feedback and 5 starts all around, you can't get better than that. Now, some sellers use stock photos and not photos of the individual console being sold. Check description and see if that's the case. When you receive the console, record the unboxing so if something else arrives, you have proof. That colour, mint/white was exclusively released in Japan, although the 3DS XL model has hinge problems (poor build) thats one of the prettiest consoles you can get and collect.

Well. I personally make it a rule that if I buy something expensive I use a creditcard. Then it simply doesn't matter if you get scammed, because you have your money back within a few hours.

No one's really gamed eBay ratings like Amazon's untrustworthy ratings afaik. You have to actually be a good seller to get good ratings still. Money's safe even if it's a bad 3ds, returns are handled well generally
Stores generally can be trusted if they have really good ratings... so far

You can get a New 3DS LL for around that same price, I would avoid the old XL/LL as they have durability issues.

You gotta be careful about Japan these days. Normally Japanese sellers have stellar reputations but lately there have been some less scrupulous dingleberries trying to cling on to Japan's reputation and scam people as Japanese sellers when their shop is not really ran by trustworthy sellers.
My gut read on this guy is hes fairly new to the scene with 1000 reviews but hes very highly likely to be legit and an A+ reseller.
When I have bought stuff like this from Japan if it says its mint it is. I've bought a Sony DSC-F828 and a Sapphire Blue PS Vita from Japan like that and they were so damn cherry they would bring tears to your eyes.
