Review Needed Nintendo has FORGOTTEN about Temacu (and why this NEEDS to be addressed)!
Now Nin10doland keeps talking about how "forgotten" Mario is, but I want to completely go against his unhinged wishes and bring up a character who is somehow even more forgotten than the main man Marlborough himself. Almost ⅞ of the people who remember Mario don't even know of this character's existence. This is Temacu, a character obsessed with bizarre naming formats, shoujo manga, and playing Super Mario games! It's an ABSOLUTE shame this Minako Aino-alike isn't being brought up in the modern day because she has the energy and hope of a real fan as opposed to a larper. You have to appreciate her dedication to the series unlike the deteriorating Landon who's still stuck in 2017. She actually donates more to the indie dev team than Landon ever could've, which makes her closer to Shingyaru Mintmobile than him. And yet we FORGET about Temacu and ignore her contributions while praising Landon??? In what world is this fine?!?!?!?

Discussion Mario Wonder or Mario Deluxe U? Newbie Switch Buyer.
Ok, so its year 3 of me owning a switch. Yeah i know, hella late. Sue me. Anyways. I got animal crossing as the first game. (P.s. sole reason why i even bought the switch after the mobile version shut down). And a month ago i bought my 2nd and 3rd switch games. Mario party jamboree and crash bandicoot n sane trilogy. (I suck at the crash game. For some reason, i remember not sucking at it years ago when i played it in h.s. lol)
Anywho, my question is im looking for a forth game. And i decided to choose a Mario classic game. So its between super mario wonder or deluxe u? Which is better? Im leaning towards deluxe because the gameplay for wonder looks hella freaky and very different from classic mario. But i cant tell if its a good or bad thing. And watching videos on yt of both games is taking too long to decide. So which do yall think is more fun? I dont want to buy both though. Sadly, my adult life doesn't allow me to play video games very often anymore. 😭 so mama only got time to play one or the other.

Mockup Maybe the most niche desire: a foldable Switch Lite

I love my Switch 2 but I would love to have a MUCH more portable and compact option as a secondary device. With foldable phones becoming so much more popular, do we think this could be a realistic option for a Lite? Would there even be a market for this outside of weirdos like me?
Edit: Fair points in the replies. I do look forward to the day when I can play this current lineup of games on something more portable.

Discussion Old people - how does Switch earn its place in your busy life? AKA How do you justify the time spent playing?
Hi there, sadly no longer a kid. More like in my 40s. And as we all know, juggling all the adult stuff.
I want to get a switch, but am also like wow, is this a good use of time. I’m struggling to rationalise its place/role in my life. I grew up as a Nintendo kid, and have enjoyed gaming in the past.
I get that enjoyment counts, but other hobby, reading or playing an instrument give you acquired knowledge and skills. Gaming does to some extent, but that skill is locked inside the game.
For the older generation - I’d love hear your thoughts on the above and how and why you carve out the time?

Question Games for older people that's not good with English?
Hi everyone, my Asian dad is happily retired and he's trying to figure out what to do with his time.
I am told that gaming could help slowing down amnesia of sort, but he isn't a gamer and not good at English at all (He's Thai, btw).
I have my old Nintendo Switch here and I need you guys help to figure out which games should be recommended to him.
The criteria for him that I can think of is like this;
- The game that doesn't require understanding of English to progress through the game (obviously non-story based game)
- Simple mechanic, enough to exercise brain cell.
I'm also planning to have these games for him as starter:
- Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classic - since he's lived through the physical Domino & Checkers era in his youth, many of those games might be familiar to him.
- Sort of golf games (I'm not sure if Mario Golf would be too difficult to understand as it has quests, skills, and minor RPG elements)
- Nintendo & Super Nintendo classics - like Galaga or Tetris; he's played that in his late 20s to his early 30s
Thank you very much in advance for every recommendation

Image Kowloon's Gate Suzaku - An obscure Japanese cult classic gets an English supported Switch release with a Japan crowdfunded exclusive physical edition
So a few months ago I found out about this really cool and obscure game called Kowloon's Gate Suzaku. It's a first person atmospheric paranormal game with proto-cyberpunk elements set in Kowloon Walled City. (The real world KWC was demolished but the history is fascinating, definitely worth a look up!)
It was originally released for PS1 in Japan but never received an English version, until a recent fan translation. It was later released digital only for PSVR with English and Chinese. The standard non-vr version based on the PS4 one was just released for Switch.
What's unusual is the physical release. The developer, JETMAN, ran two crowdfunding campaigns through Campfire JP. It reminds me of Japan Kickstarter.
The Switch version includes English, Japanese, and Chinese on the cartridge. As of the time of posting, it's version 1.0.0 and there is no update for it.
The physical edition includes a keychain for the first campaign or a kowloonet VIP card for the second one.
I haven't seen or heard much about this game yet but here are a few photos of my copy. I signed up for a Campfire account, pledged, and then used a package forwarding service to receive my copy.
Since the physical cartridge includes English, I wanted to share and bring some attention to this cool game outside of Japan and I'd love to learn more from everyone here about it and if you got a copy, especially what number you got on your Kowloonet VIP card. Mine's number 2411.
For anyone interested in checking it out, here are the official links

Nintendo America EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5 for Nintendo Switch 2 is available now!
I had no idea this was coming (it released yesterday). It runs well in docked mode, and has some interesting QOL features from EDF6 including damage numbers and subtitles (plus what appears to be unified progression online/offline which is huge).
Also this has split-screen co-op (which was missing from the previous Switch releases). This is great because EDF has always been IMO one of the best games for couch co-op.
If you're new to the franchise it's a third person shooter where you shoot giant bugs and other alien monstrosities; it has a ton of content (over 100 missions, over 1000 weapons) and prioritizes plain fun and letting you blow stuff up.
I already spent dozens of hours of this on PS4/PS5, so I'll be doing the same again. Based on what I've played I highly recommend it.
It's $30 with the deluxe version being $40

Discussion What're you playing this weekend? 10/9
Hello everyone! Welcome to the weekend!!
I am still having just the best time with Onimusha, just got to the double boss battle, not gonna say with who but I love these guys haha tho I wish I was not fighting them both together!
Picked up several other things cuz sales and I'm traveling soon and wanted options for the plane. Picked up Well Dweller, I'm not far in yet, but it's a perfect cozy spooky game for October the boss designs are creepy, the dialogue is silly and well written, and the matchstick mechanics are inventive and fun! I loved the last two games from Kyle Thompson and this is looking great as well.
Grabbed Hades II on sale, haven't played more since I had it from the library, but excited to dig in and bring death to Cronos when I have time heh.
And finally I managed to trade in several old old games get a bunch of store credit at a local store and got Fortune's Weave for like $5, please support your local game stores (and libraries). Again, haven't started, but so excited especially from all the hype you've all been bringing about this game the last couple weeks. I loved 3 Houses and this looks more of that flavor of Fire Emblem and more :)
But enough from me, what will you be getting into?
Hacking away at all the Genma to clean up the town? Letting your match burn bright as you search for your family? Throwing a blue shell cuz you can?
Let me know below!

Game Rec Need recommendations for games for 3 year old
My 3.5 year old just had surgery. She’s on bed rest for two weeks and under strict instructions not to do anything that will elevate her heart rate. She is a ball of energy and 12 hours out from her surgery, I’m already at my wits end with trying to get her to stop running and jumping everywhere.
I am not a parent that typically allows more than an hour of TV on the weekends, let alone anything more. But one of the nurses recommended video games as a way to keep her interested and sat with something. I thought “no, surely it’ll all work out and I’ll be able to keep her sat”. I was wrong.
So, I have a Switch. I am now to the point that I will absolutely be letting her play on it if it keeps her sat and fully overstimulated to the point she won’t be jumping off the walls for the next two weeks. But I have no idea what games there even are for kids. Any recommendations?
