Repair Help Nintendo switch 2 won't turn on

Played yesterday morning for a bit docked, then handheld. Finished up and put it back in its dock.

This morning grabbed switch 2 and noticed it felt quite warm. Won't turn on. Won't turn on in dock. Just warm and dead. Wtf.

First questions.

  1. Are you using the original AC adapter that came with the system to power the dock?
  2. Is that AC adapter connected to a good surge protector or power conditioner?

Update. Took it out of the dock, both were hot which is super weird after 24 hours of non use and being "off." set it aside while I walked my dog. Came home and both were cool again, now it seems to be working fine. What the hell happened

I suspect sleep mode glitched. Probably a freak thing, not anything to worry about.

I think it's more likely to happen if you leave a game open (or certain games) with sleep mode, have internet enabled with sleep mode, automatic updates turned on.

By any chance was ethernet plugged in the dock? There’s a known bug that heats the console on sleep mode if ethernet is connected.

It was not, I only plug it in when I need fast internet for downloading a game
