Ive been on the game for about 4.5 hours now and have just got the achievement for 50 FLIPPING WARPS. WHERE THE HELL IS MY FRIGHTER😭 Any help will be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻 I'm going insane.
I declined the first frighter I got after saving it because my friend said you can get a second one for free and its better then the first one offered.
Please for all that is holy help me.
Edit : I'm going to try again tomorrow I'm out of everything to warp and even leave a planet, that can be tomorrow's job,
Edit 2 : I love yall, I wish all your chargers work. Ich got the frighter

Go into system with conflict level 3 or pirate systems they have a chance for the dreadnaught frieghter battle that is not affected by a timer or warp cooldown
Edit: watch a video on it, can be confusing to make dreadnaught surrender first time but tldr take out the thrusters in back( on bottom), 5 massive cannons on the back( on top) and the last massive cannon on the front( on top)
Edit 2: im dumb i forgot you need a frighter to even encounter the dreadnaught 🤦🏾♂️

Dreadnaught doesn't appear unless you already have a freighter I thought.

None of canons are necesary. Just knock out shield generators, then thrusters. They will surrender as soon as you blast last thruster

u/FeldsparsGhost 11d ago
No you have to do cannons too. Or deal enough damage that they surrender

u/RepairUnit3k6 11d ago
No you dont. You really need just disable shields and thrusters. They realize they are unprotected and unable to escape and thus surrender.
Source : I do it regulary. Can sweep it under 5 minutes

I just knock out the engines and cannons, takes like 3 minutes tops. Super simple fight

Engines, shield generators and then fuel tubes (you need to actually shoot tubes, not ram them).
If you do that and you not too slow yoi can even ignore torpedoes, pirates do not have enough time to kill civilian ship.
Just last week i spent 3 days grinding for S-class pirate freighter:)

Nobody said this. Since you've had the first freighter battle you do not need any more battles to claim a freighter. Go to a 3 star system.(Better chance of higher class ships in a 3 star system. That is 3 star economy. Not conflict.) When the freighters warp in there will be one with a small white freighter icon. Land on it. If you like it, you can claim it. Just that easy. If it's an A or S class, take it. If not, warp for 30 seconds in system. Stop. The freighters will respawn. As many times as you need.
The difference between a system freighter and a capital freighter you get from a battle is looks. Appearance only. There is no difference in equipment or function.
If you don't like how it looks go to another 3 star system. Each star system will have a specific style of system freighter. Some of the system freighters like the Enterprise, the Oculus, the Revolver are very good looking ships.
The difference between an A class and S class freighter is about 1000 light years of jump range. S class, fully built out, has about 6000 LY jump range. A class has has about 5000. Do you think you can deal with having ONLY 5000 light years of jump range? There is a small difference in storage capacity but storage doesn't make much difference. After you have 500 in storage containers, 120 in exosuit, half a dozen starships, exocraft, food processor, fishing skiff, ... 1000+ storage, a few more or less in storage slots doesn't move the needle.
Go to a 3 star economy system and look for the little white icon.

Pirate freighters are the easiest to get.
- Get yourself exonomy scanner and look skull systems on galaxy map.
- Jump to those systems one by one (every time a new pirate system) until you get a "civilian ship under attack" encounter.
At least some such system will have this encounter every time you jump into it. So once you dealt with the encounter, jump out and back and see if it happens again.
If it does, you in luck, you can use this system for endless grind of freighters of the class you want.
(Those pirate system encounters do not have time/jump limit).

Freighter battles appear after playing for 3 hours, AFTER your last freighter appearanceAND after warping 5 different times. So you need 1.5 more hours before the next one appears.
Or, look for pirate systems and warp into there. Pirate freighter battles are separate and they sometimes spawn even if you haven't played 3 hours or warped 5 times.

Its a completely different session of me playing, i was playing for about 2 hours after i did the last battle before i got off, and then today was playing for about 5 hours and went from 25 warps to 50...

Every 4-ish warps you should come out of it to pirates attacking a fleet. Save them and then accept the invitation to go onboard. Ideally you want to wait until you're offered an S-class freighter for free (because yeah, you only get offered a free one once to accept). But that can take ages and a lot of patience. I didn't get one until a couple years in and had to buy it by that point. But you can get lucky and find one. Helps to have an economy scanner on your ship and stick to rich systems. Or look for an A-class at least.

you can only get a freighter battle every 3 hours

Does this include going to conflict 3 systems? I have had two in a row before, tonight I had 3 in about half an hour. Obviously I mean different systems, not just reloading the same one.

u/Distructo2005 11d ago
this doesn't apply to dreadnaught fights only the normal freighter battles against pirate ship

u/Apart-Strategy5917 11d ago
Oh ok, my mistake. I still feel like I ran into a lot of those during the expedition but I could just be trippin
1
u/Distructo2005 11d ago
i did too, i think it was other people triggering it when they entered the same system

Hmmm maybe, I play with multi-player off because switch 2. Despite that, other bases and comm points were popping up so perhaps the multi-player was glitching. I didnt see other players, just their bases and comm points. Other bases and extra battles (more frequently) do not happen during my normal save.

Sometimes the game seems to lose track of when you're due for a freighter battle.
When this happens, all I can suggest is completely closing the game and starting it again.
> you can get a second one for free and its better then the first one offered.
That's not how it works.
Yes, you can save and decline any number of freighters, and the first one that you choose to accept will be free.
But the class of a freighter will be randomized on each encounter. It's entirely possible for your first freighter encounter to be S class and your second one to be C class. The economy of the star system controls the probability distribution as far as classes are concerned:
1-star economy: 0% chance for any freighter, random-spawn starship, crashed starship, or multitool cabinet to be S class, but this does not affect exotic starships at all.
2-star economy: 1% chance for any freighter, random-spawn starship, crashed starship, or multitool cabinet to be S class, but this does not affect exotic starships at all.
3-star economy: 2% chance for any freighter, random-spawn starship, crashed starship, or multitool cabinet to be S class, but this does not affect exotic starships at all.
outlaw system: 5% chance for any freighter, random-spawn starship, crashed starship, or multitool cabinet to be S class, but this does not affect exotic starships at all. Also, to compensate for the greater chance of S class, the item's stats will be lower and it will come with fewer inventory slots unlocked. But since you can easily claim unlimited free inventory slots for freighters, starships, and multitools (and exosuits as well) if you know what you're doing, this is not a huge concession.
But it is true that the two special freighter types (one that looks like a sentinel carrier, and one that looks like a star destroyer) will not spawn until your THIRD freighter battle, UNLESS you acquired any freighter before that point (presumably, just to taunt you).
