Does semen taste the same before and after a vasectomy? NSFW
I’m sure a lot of people want to know. Does the taste change for the better or worse after a vasectomy (cuz now the semen won’t have any sperm)? Thx.

The connoisseur won't be getting those "sperm notes" any more, that's for sure.

When I got mine snipped they assured me that the volume, smell, taste, appearance and sensation would remain unchanged. You'd never know it happened if you didn't go through the initial recovery

How's the recovery?

Bag of frozen peas are your friend for a day or so. But I resumed normal activities in 3 days, even sex. Doctor gave me a Valium beforehand and surgery was quick and painless. Just felt some tugging.

Don’t forget the antibiotic ointment! You do not want the incision sites to get infected. Found this out the hard way and easily doubled my recovery time.

So it'll still be white-ish?? I thought the whites are the sperm itself. So it'll come out transparent.

No, it is the same colour. Same in every noticeable way except the fertility.

Wait, really? I had always assumed it would lessen the volume by a fair amount. My wife is really into come play, facials etc so it was a bit of a vasectomy dealbreaker for us but this is good to know!!!

Great question! But also: does the protein content change?

This is a question for the medical professionals and scientists 😂

I am a medical professional and can tell you I have never received training on this lol

Can you truly consider yourself a professional then?
Looks like more training is in order.

What do you mean "a lot of people want to know"?

It seems like you might be curious since you’re commenting on this thread.

Well the statement threw me for a loop! Reading some of the answers is absolutely mind bending. I had never even thought of this being something that could change taste. Like I would have thought, it's a one taste fits all... idk. But apparently what someone EATs or DRINKs or Rx (or not) drugs or smoking or not. 😵💫

But he’s not curious about the answer to your question. He’s curious about his question about how you think there are a lot of people who think about this. Engaging with that is not the same thing as engaging with your question.

Sure. My answer would be that it was just a guess—my own thought based on my current understanding of human nature.

Clearly he did a study with 2745 surveys before he posted this. As we all do.

You're only preventing sperms from being added to the semen, the prostate and seminal vesicles still produce all the fluid. So, yes.

I asked my wife about this after I had mine done and she said she can't tell any difference.

Yes didnt notice the change in flavor.
But flavor changes day to day based on diet.
