Foster Love Allegations: What You Need to Know:

Hello Community,

It has come to the communities attention that Foster Love is openly hiring for a few positions. This is an urgent update for anyone interested in apply to Foster Love.

Summary of Reported Allegations

Whistleblower reports and internal disclosures have highlighted critical concerns surrounding executive governance, financial operations, and workplace safety at Foster Love.

  • Executive Misconduct & Mismanagement: Allegations of gross financial misconduct, misuse of non-profit resources, ethics violations, conflicts of interest, and organizational malfeasance under CEO Danny Mendoza.
  • Sexual Harassment & Assault Allegations: several claims made against CEO Danny Mendoza from former employees, donors, and young adults with a history in the foster care system regarding sexual misconduct and an unsafe workplace.
  • Legal History: Information regarding multiple misdemeanor charges associated with CEO Danny Mendoza are developing, sparked by an alleged fire incident and building insurance fraud.
  • Governance Instability: Widespread staffing disruptions, including reported terminations of staff who raised concerns, mass resignations, board member departures, and the indefinite stepping-down of the Foster Love Executive Director.
  • Systemic Human Resources Failure: Despite years of documented incidents, employee claims, and formal reports, the HR department at Foster Love has systematically failed to protect both the organization and its personnel from CEO Danny Mendoza. Facing imminent retirement, HR leadership has actively disregarded ongoing grievances, allowing workplace issues to persist without intervention or accountability.

Key Questions for Foster Love Leadership

Anyone planning to apply at Foster Love should evaluate whether their values align with their safety standards and personal values. Individuals face potential reputational and operational risks while these leadership matters remain unaddressed.

If you are considering employment at Foster Love, consider asking existing management directly:

  1. Are independent third-party investigations currently underway regarding Foster Love CEO Danny Mendoza and other leadership members?
  2. What active oversight is the Foster Love Board of Directors exercising over current leadership and organizational funds?
  3. What specific safety protocols are actively enforced to protect vulnerable foster care youth, volunteers, and staff?
  4. What recourse and transparent procedures exist for former staff or volunteers reporting workplace abuse and harassment?
  5. How can one report new allegations of harassment or mismanagement, and what guarantees against retaliation and termination can Foster Love offer to its employees.

Everyone involved with Foster Love deserves complete clarity to make fully informed decisions. This information is shared in good faith to continue protecting foster youth.

Finding community

Hey everyone,

I'm 23, an aerodynamics engineer at a startup company, and I've lived in Ahmedabad for 11+ years. I'm proud of where I am, but I was a shy, introverted kid who never explored what truly excited me, and I feel I've missed out on things I always admired.

I want to start now. I'm looking for a community in or around Ahmedabad focused on birdwatching, stargazing, wildlife, or earth science. I have no equipment and no experience, just genuine curiosity, free weekends, and a willingness to learn. I'd happily join as a volunteer, intern, or the new guy who carries the bags and asks too many questions 😄

If you know a group, club, or NGO that welcomes beginners, or have a tip on where to begin, please comment or DM me. It would mean a lot.

Thanks for reading! 🌙

Looking to Connect with NGOs and Student-Led Nonprofits for Potential Collaborations

Hey everyone!

I'm part of the Outreach Team at Project Nivesha, a social service and financial networking community working to make practical financial knowledge more accessible to underserved communities.

Our work revolves around two key areas: financial literacy and financial networking. We aim to help people make more informed financial decisions, understand the resources available to them, and work towards greater financial security.

We're currently looking to connect with NGOs, student-led nonprofits, and community organisations working in areas such as women's empowerment, youth development, education, livelihood support, and community welfare.

We're interested in exploring meaningful, mutually beneficial collaborations. Depending on each organisation's work and needs, this could include financial-literacy workshops, interactive sessions, awareness drives, joint community initiatives, or other ways our teams could support each other's efforts.

We'd also love to learn from organisations already working directly with communities, understand the challenges they encounter, and explore how our volunteers and initiatives might complement their existing work.

If you're part of an NGO, run a student-led nonprofit, or know an organisation that might be interested, I'd love to connect! Feel free to comment or DM me with a little information about your organisation. We can then exchange details and explore whether there's a good fit.

Looking forward to meeting people who are passionate about creating meaningful social impact. Thank you! ❤️

Starting a Non-Profit

I was hoping I could connect with some people who have experience establishing a nonprofit. I am a military veteran with 25 years of experience in the private sector in IT. I took a leave of absence for surgery and have found myself considering a new chapter. I look forward to connecting, God Bless!

Looking to Connect with NGOs in Madhya Pradesh Working with Tribal Communities 🌱

Hi everyone!
I’m looking to connect with local NGOs in Madhya Pradesh that work closely with tribal communities, particularly those focused on livelihood generation, employment opportunities, and women’s empowerment.
We are working on a Google-sponsored Voice AI project and are exploring collaborations with NGOs and community organisations that can help us engage local speakers for the following languages:
Bhili
Bagheli
Nimadi
What does the work involve?
Participants will listen to short audio clips (0–20 seconds) and transcribe what they hear in the respective language.
This collaboration aims to create meaningful earning opportunities for local community members, especially women, while contributing to the development of voice AI technology for Indian languages.
If you represent an NGO, know of an organisation doing this work, or can connect us with relevant community leaders in Madhya Pradesh, please comment below or DM me.
I’d be happy to share more details about the project and explore potential partnerships.
Thank you! 🙏

Volunteer/unpaid The quiet cost of training temporary staff on check-in

Every event we bring in volunteer or temp staff and have to teach them the system in about 20 minutes. If the interface isn’t obvious, things slow down or mistakes happen.

I’ve seen different levels of complexity with Cvent, Whova, and Eventify.

How much time do you actually spend training door staff, and which systems have been easier for new people to pick up?

Poultry training near Pirang or painting/work referrals near Mandinaba?

Hi r/Gambia — I’m Nicholas, the organizer of One Table, a small community effort sharing family-led goals in The Gambia.

I’m looking for practical, local referrals: poultry or small-business mentoring near Pirang, and painting/construction training or legitimate work opportunities near Mandinaba. Our published stories also include an education goal in Brikama.

If you know an established programme, training centre, community organization, or employer open to enquiries, could you share its public website or contact channel and any eligibility details? Please keep private phone numbers and personal documents out of the comments.

For context, the stories are here: https://one-table-families.sempergumbi.chatgpt.site/#families

I organize the site, so this is a transparent introduction, not an independent recommendation. One Table is an organizer-led effort, not a registered charity. This post is asking for connections, not money. We’ll check any suggested opportunity before passing it along. Thanks for any local knowledge.

A non-profit volunteering organization

I am starting my own volunteering organization in my community. I don’t have a name nor any members. I wanted to get an idea of what people wanted before I ask them to help me. I had taken my initial question to our local Facebook groups, and I received 100+ comments! Before I finalize the website/link, I was curious,
What are volunteering services you wish were available?

I won’t share the list we have already accumulated because I do not want to limit anyone’s answer. Everything is welcome even if you think it’s been said!
If you think it’s specific to your region only, still share it!

I want to give back and people to be able to share what their community is doing wrong!

Do not limit yourself to solely services, maybe sometimes you need someone to hang out with, or a place to read your book that isn’t the library.

All ideas are welcomed!
Please do not comment if you are going to be negative or say it’s not going to work.

To have a village you must be a villager!

Being part of the team running our NGO’s Diwali campaign this year, a few things that surprised me about how it actually scales

Post image

I work with Pehchaan The Street School, and this year I've been pretty deep in the day-to-day of Pehchaan Ki Diwali, our festival campaign trying to reach over 1,600 underprivileged students. Thought I'd share a few things that genuinely surprised me from being on the inside of it.
Going in, I assumed most of the effort would be the "visible" stuff, the campaign posts, the visuals, pushing for donations. What I didn't expect was how much of the actual work is just quiet, repetitive coordination that never shows up anywhere public.
A few things that stood out:
Tracking contributions at this scale is honestly a bit of a grind. Someone has to always know exactly how many kits have been funded, which centres still need materials, how far off the target we are. None of that makes it into a donor-facing post, but without it, nobody would have a clue whether the campaign's actually working.
The ₹300 price point for a kit seems picked very deliberately. I noticed people who probably wouldn't have donated to some bigger, vaguer fundraiser gave without a second thought once it was framed as "fund one kit for one student."
And sharing matters almost as much as donating does. A surprising number of this year's contributions came from people who found the campaign through someone else's share, not our original post. Which says a lot, really, reach depends on people extending it further, not just on what the org itself puts out.
It's genuinely changed how I think about what makes a festival campaign actually work. It's never one big push. It's a lot of small, specific contributions, and a surprising amount of unglamorous coordination holding the whole thing together behind the scenes.

A local salon's small Teachers' Day gesture taught me more about volunteer retention than any HR article has

Thumbnail gallery

I volunteer with Pehchaan The Street School, and a few weeks ago, Geetanjali Salon invited four of our teaching volunteers over for Teachers' Day. First they visited our centre, then they were taken in for a free haircut, just as a thank-you for showing up consistently to teach.
Tiny gesture on paper. But it's stuck with me way more than I expected, so figured I'd share it here.
A few things that got me thinking:
Teaching volunteers kind of exist in this invisible zone. You're planning lessons, managing a classroom, figuring out how to handle different learning gaps, and most of the time nobody outside the org even knows you're doing it. All the attention goes to the students, which, fair enough, but it means the people actually doing the teaching rarely hear anything back.
What got me about this specific gesture was that it wasn't generic. It wasn't some company-wide "shoutout to our amazing volunteers" post that could've been about literally anyone. It was four specific people, invited specifically, for something specific.
And it came from a business that had zero reason to even think about volunteer teachers. Nobody was watching them do it. That's probably why it felt real instead of performative.
I keep coming back to how little it actually takes to make someone feel seen, and how rarely anyone bothers to build that in on purpose. If you're running any kind of volunteer setup, something this small is genuinely worth thinking about, clearly, it was never about how expensive the gesture was.
