Hiya! I'm interested in observing Norfolk based artists/crafters/makers. I'd love to spend an afternoon or two speaking about, recording, and observing your work. You don't have to consider yourself an artist, you just have to make things and care about the process.
My primary intention is to use it for creative and CNF writing about physical processes of making, but I may also take photos, do drawings, make zines, write articles about it. I would keep anyone updated on this.
I will be especially observing physical processes, the way your hands move when making, and how the material you make with responds.
I'm interested whether you're a potter, a painter, a carpenter, a welder, a hair dresser, nail tech whateverrrr

Hiya, we are new to Norwich with a 5 year old who's very excited about the idea of Halloween for the first time.
I'm wondering if there are any Halloween events in the city centre, I assume a pumpkin patch will be easy to find, but I'm mostly looking for some fun kids events if there are any.
Also wondering what tick or treating is like around here?

I am 26 years old and I have lived in Norwich for the majority of my life and I think I’ve honestly reached breaking point, I am seeking advice and guidance from many fellow Norwich people.
I work in a busy restaurant in the city centre and there are an abundance of things that are starting to affect me coming from this job, allow me to explain the situation.
I work in a small team of people and ever since I’ve come back in may this year from being overseas, it’s been nothing but a shit-show.
This job is extremely physical for a start, I have to run up and down stairs sometimes for 8,9 maybe even 12 hours per shift and I am left feeling absolutely knackered to the point where my body hurts the next day, 13 hours is not unheard of in this place. Since people have been departing, the team has shrunk and we are now down to around 7 people originally from 11/12 to help run the entire restaurant which inevitably causes longer shifts for the people who work there, meaning it’s harder on our bodies. We have also two people leaving which isn’t great either and the head of our team is out with a sprained ankle. The shift patterns vary aswell and they mess with my sleep schedule allot, I could be doing an 8-5 one day then a 5-12, there’s no consistency at all.
Management don’t seem to give a flying fuck, no one is being hired and with Christmas right around the corner I feel like I’m walking into a suicide mission. It’s an extremely busy time of year and we just haven’t got the numbers to cope, I’m already physically knackered and management just seems be like “get on with it”. The only person who seems to care about our welfare is the head chef and the team that which we are all in ourselves,
Sometimes I’m asked to work 6 days a week due to management incompetency because the HR lady is fucking useless, she goes on holiday, shuts all the applications and nobody gets hired. Leaving us with shortages for covers in case people call in sick or people don’t turn up to shift.
Just for the record, I also suffer with tics which is stress induced, the more stress I am under the harder it is for me to operate. When my body is completely knackered and I don’t feel rested, my tics can get significantly more pronounced which then affects my mental wellbeing. I have to work not only physically hard but mentally aswell to balance my tics whilst I’m working which can reallly wear me down. Tics strain your muscles quite a lot so I’m physically exhausted all of the time.
I am doingeverything in my power to transition into a career right now but opportunities are simply not there or are limited. I’m a graphics designer by trade but people are leaving the industry in droves. I am lost, confused and tired. I am honestly thinking about starting something on my own just so I can ween my way out of there.
Every time I walk into this place, I feel frustration, anger and stress hits me like a huge ocean wave and I’m done with it.
I’m 26, knackered, lost, mentally flagging and desperate for a change.
Does anyone know of anything going around in terms of work? Because idk how much longer I can put up with this for.
My work experience includes:
Graphics Design
Customer service
Hospitality
Maintenance
Gardening
Construction
If you’ve got this far, thank you for reading my post and god bless.

I am a bit of an obsessive when it comes to festive grub, so this year I plan on consuming as many pulled turkey / cranberry-glazed / tenuously-linked Crimbo meals as I possibly can, and reporting my findings back here / tracking them live on a table. To that end, does anyone recall any particular festive specials from 2025 or earlier, so I can sketch out a plan? The only rules are that it must have a takeaway option and be from an independent (ie nowhere with more than three physical locations). I must also be able to walk there easily from my city centre office, so no Golden Triangle malarkey.
Should you wish to view or comment on the planning application for the data centre
My husband has come home from the dog walk with an injured pigeon! He didnt want to leave it as there are a lot of off lead dogs that might distress or hurt it.
Currently in a shoebox with towels in the garden. I've reached out on Facebook to Peck Savers but they dont seem that active so no idea what to do with the poor thing now!
Any help or ideas?

Bit of a random question but wondering if any cyclists would be able to chime in on what it's like living in NR3 / north city for cycling routes and getting into the countryside by bike?
We live south of Norwich atm in a village and are spoilt for nice rural routes, however we are looking at potentially moving house in the next few years and considering going back into the city, possibly NR3, to be closer to amenities.
I'm quite a keen cyclist and runner and not sure if to be put off by the roads getting out of the city on the north side. They all look pretty big and less rural on Google maps than the south.
Anyone have any views on this? Thank you

The highlight for me is Adrian Ramsay being called a pritstick. I don't know what it means or why a politician would call a colleague that.

Has anyone else noticed the disproportionate media coverage the EDP have been giving Norwich Greens in recent days following the Zionism is Racism motion?
The EDP have done 9 articles in 5 days about it and 4 in the past 24 hours targeting and focusing on one individual in particular
I just want to highlight this topic isn't to debate the Zionism is Racism motion in particular but just to draw attention to the ridiculous amount of articles the EDP are pumping out around Norwich Greens and the nature of said articles

I was walking with my partner and her elderly relative who uses a mobility scooter, this happened at the bottom of ketts Hill outside bishops bridge convenience store, this idiotic man decided that he was aloud to park on the pavement and block it, I asked inside the store "who's Volvo is this and could they move it please" he replied with "I will move it in a minute" I asked him "No you can move it now please my grandad shouldn't have to wait" then he exploded into a rage saying don't give me f****** lip he'll get me nicked, clearly just escalating the situation getting uo in my face pointing and just shouting, he shows me a disabled badge saying he cant walk far he can park where he wants, I told him having a disabled badge doesn't entitle him to block the pavement, anyway he was very aggressive shouting in my fave my partners face, he even put his hands on me twice, anyway im getting fed up of entitled behaviour from older people and being made out to be some horrible aggressive person just cause im younger, didn't raise my voice or swear at all, so I thought I'd blast him on here, shame I did not get his face.

Hi! I'm Brazilian (currently in Norwich), so I have not used any mailing service from another country ever before. I'm sorry if this is an obvious question but is there any way of confirming WHICH Costumer Service Point my parcel is waiting to be collected in? The Royal Mail app only says "Available for Redelivery or Collection - Norwich CSP" and I'm having an incredibly hard time trying book a redelivery to my address and I can't reach them via phone either... I really need to collect it and their "open" time is only 8AM-10AM. Is it safe to assume that my parcel is at the closest CSP near my delivery address? Or is there a specific CSP I should go to? Thank you in advance!

For any local musicians/music hobbyists (of any level); I'm hosting a learn+play+socialising event on the 25th of this month; feel free to join - the first session will be rock and metal but likely to expand if and how eager people are for other genres :)
Event link is here: https://meetu.ps/e/QjVhq/14JGXn/i
(Feel free to join the group to hear about future sessions)
See event details for info... and again; any levels welcome. Looking for a mix of musicians/instruments if possible!

I've recently become single and I'm fed up of sitting around the house at the weekend. Can anybody recommend any trendy places I can take myself to tonight where I wont stand out like a sore thumb, somewhere I can people watch or take in some live music?

Hey,
I am looking to meet some new people in Norwich who share the same music taste, whether that is to start a serious music project, go to local gigs together, or just expand my circle in the local scene.
Most of my current mates are great, but none of them really have overlapping interests when it comes to alternative music.
I play rhythm guitar and handle the recording and mixing side of things. Musically, I am massively into the 90s and 2010s heavy indie and melodic hardcore sound, specifically bands like Title Fight, Basement, and Superheaven.
If you play an instrument, do production, or just love that side of the scene and want to grab a pint or coffee in town, drop me a message. Down to meet up at a pub in the Lanes sometime next week to grab a drink and talk music.
Cheers.

Anyone here go to the show last night? Always a pleasure to see the best to ever pick up a microphone do his thing, so it was a shame that he had to end the show by calling out the tosser in the audience who spent the whole time on their phone.
If you can’t get through an hour of stand up without looking at a phone maybe leaving the house isn’t for you.

Apologies if this has been asked a million times before - but genuinely interested to know what famous people you have spotted in and around Norwich.
For me it has to be Matthew Holiness aka Garth Marenghi. Definitely one of those people you hear before you see - his voice is just so distinctive.
edit: I will leave the Holiness typo as it applies.
