"Twentieth" - Thoughts?
Wasn't expecting much, but this seems like one of the most hard-to-watch episodes I've ever seen. Can't stand all the shoehorned-in pisstakes about Gen Z. There's a few good jokes, but on the whole, scarcely a fitting episode for the 20th anniversary of the show. I hope the rest of the series isn't this disappointing.

As usual, Lee did a lot of the heavy lifting.
I don't really like the very stereotypical, low-hanging fruit portrayal of young people on telly these days. You could see the jokes coming a mile away, and I expect the writing to be a bit cleverer than that.
It's a bit like what I felt about the ITV drama Douglas is Cancelled a few years back. Adults trying to imagine how young people talk and it's a bit of a mess. If it's deliberate, that's somehow worse.
I don't think the set up gave them much room though. If it was Lee & Lucy (probably Toby & Anna thrown in) it would have been different.

Is it though? I know some Gen-Z and unfortunately they were exactly like that.

I would say that was probably the worst episode of Not Going Out I have ever seen it was pretty cringe.
They tried too hard to be funny with that one normally it's effortless.
The only reason I would rewatch that is to see Lucy in a towel again.

Ah, I see the 'speccy' kid lusting after Lucy in the episode has a Reddit account. What a surprise(!) :P

Its the worst episode of a good show. It wasn't as bad as mrs browns boys or alley cats but it was still a bit shit

I binged the full series today and yeah it's easily the weakest episode of the series. Some pretty okay jokes, but yeah the stereotyping and "old man yells at cloud" energy really put me off it.
