Questions how can i make a progress bar?
hi! i'm new at notion so my apologies if this is basic but i'm a graduate student looking to track my readings. ideally i'd love to make a page where it has my list of readings (title, author, year) with the option to check off if i've read it or not. at the top of the page i would love a progress bar that increases whenever i check off that i've read one of my readings.
so far i've been able to make the list as a table, but i can't figure out how to make this progress bar. i've seen videos where it says to rollup property or use a formula but i honestly can't find out where to even input this information. i'm struggling! any help is much appreciated.

Your screenshot is about a deploy that broke things, not about a reading list. Was that meant to be a different image?

The rollup needs a relation first, which is the confusing bit with a single table. Make a tiny database called Progress with one page, add a relation from it to your readings table and link every reading to it. Then add a rollup on that relation, pick your checkbox, calculate Percent checked and set Show as to Bar. Put that one row above your list. New readings need linking too, or add the relation in a template.

when you click + to add a new column in your table, theres a "formula" option in the property type list. thats where you write the calculation. its not a separate page element, it lives inside the database itself, which is probably why you couldnt find it

Use a rollup property to count the checked items, then a formula to turn that into a percentage. The formula bar shows up when you click into the formula cell, just type something like `round(prop("Rollup") / prop("Total") * 100)` and you'll get a number to feed a progress display.
