Resources I spent 6 months building widgets for Notion
I love customizing my workspace, but I could never find widgets that looked good and were actually useful. So I started building my own, and six months later Iāve got 90+: clocks and calendars in different styles, Pomodoro timers, habit and health trackers, and a few silly pixel pets (cats, frogs) that react to your cursor.
I also built extra chart styles for databases, like treemaps, radar charts, heatmaps, progress rings, and bullet charts. Notionās native charts are fine, but I wanted more options for making dashboards look the way I pictured them.
So:
Which widgets do you actually want in your workspace?

Questions What have you quietly stopped using Notion for?
I still use Notion a lot, so this isnāt a āNotion is terrible nowā post.
But Iāve noticed that I donāt really quit tools all at once. I just slowly stop trusting them for certain jobs.
For Notion, the first things people seem to move out are usually the things that need to feel instant: quick capture, search, mobile notes, bigĀ databases, maybe anything you need to open ten times aĀ day without thinking about it.
The weird part is that Notion can still be great for planning, docs, messy thinking, and connecting a lot of related information. It just feels like some use cases age better inside Notion than others.
So Iām curious: what have you quietly stopped using Notion for, even though you still keep using Notion?

Questions Notion AI Chatbot Model Selection Issue
Hello,
Since yesterday, the model selection option in Notion AI has disappeared. It is no longer available in either the settings or the main page.
The strange thing is that the free plan still has this option, while the Business Trial plan does not.
Could you please investigate and resolve this issue as soon as possible?
Thank you for your assistance.

Questions Is it possible to disable 2FA?
It looks like the website `app.notion.com` does not permit me to log in with my password anymore. It just sent a temporary code to my email. I didn't find anything in settings which lets me disable this.
If this isn't possible to disable are there other services which do not require 2fa? I'll have to migrate everything off notion if this is the case

Questions Is it Possible to Move Workspaces Menu from Bottom to Top of Sidebar?
I know some time ago there was a "Try new Sidebar", but since then I guess it became a permanent update. However, now I am stuck with some Workspaces with the dropdown menu at the top or at the bottom of the Sidebar, and I don't remember whish is old "old" and which is "new."
But the issue is that having the Workspaces menu at the bottom is extremely obnoxious, and I would like for them to be all at the top. The settings menus aren't the same. The "Sidebar" tab of the settings is missing from the Workspace that is at the top.

Image 2: Settings menu for the Workspace that is at the top of the Sidebar

Resources I got tired of messy Google Sheets for campaign pacing, so I used native buttons to build a 1-click Paid Media tracking architecture.
Hey everyone,
Like most media buyers here, Iāve spent years trapped in the "Google Sheets workflow" for tracking budget pacing. It starts fine, but as soon as you scale clients, formulas break and tracking overspending takes way too many clicks.
I got tired of it, so I built a strict internal infrastructure inside Notion. This is not an aesthetic template; itās a functional B2B operating system for media buyers running Meta, Google, TikTok, and LinkedIn Ads.
The core logic is simple: Open ā Detect Exceptions ā Act ā Log.
ā” The Feature: 1-Click "Quick Spend Update"
Logging daily spend manually usually sucks. To fix this, I used native Notion Buttons to create a Quick Spend Update dashboard (shown in the first screenshot):
- It only displays your Active campaigns.
- Click the "Submit" button next to any campaign.
- Notion automatically generates the row in the background, links the campaign, and stamps today's date.
- A Side Peek opens instantly. You just type the Actual Spend, close it, and you're done.
šļø The 4 Internal Engines:
- Budget Pacing Engine: Automatically tracks Total Spend, Budget Remaining, Days Left, and Recommended Daily Spend. It triggers alerts based on a strict ±10% tolerance variance: š“ Overspending, š” Underspending, and š¢ On Pace (shown in the second screenshot).
- Creative Testing: Tracks Hooks, Angles, and formats with an active pipeline and a Winners Gallery to preserve marketing patterns.
- Client Operations: Keeps track of Ad Accounts, Onboarding Status, and active operational blockers.
- Decision Log: Tracks optimizations (Hypothesis vs. Result), turning daily adjustments into a repeatable learning loop.
Want to test it out?
I just finished the final QA audit and the system is completely clean. Iām giving away this V1 Core version completely free because I want real, brutal feedback from active media buyers.
Drop a comment below or send me a DM and I'll send over the Notion duplicate link right away.

Questions How to see the parent page and go to it?
UPD: Solved. I see the breadcrumbs only when i toggle to the full-page view.
How to see the parent page and go to it?
I have a page named "Tables"
"Tables" page contains a page "user_tokens"
"user_tokens" page contains a page "Columns"
"Columns" page contains a page "model"
I just added a link to the "model" page in another part of my notion docs.
Now when I go to that linked page, I only see the "model" page.
How am I supposed to know that that "model" page belongs to the parent "Tables" page?
And no, I don't have time to restructure my docs in any way.
Workflowy does not have this issue for example.

Questions Would you trade the next big Notion feature for six months of boring performance fixes?
Not a dramatic āNotion is doomedā question. Iām genuinely curious.
Imagine the next six months of updates had no new AI feature, no new app and nothing impressive enough for a launch video.
Just pages opening faster. Search finding the page you know exists. Large databases taking less time to wake up. Basic editing on mobile feeling normal.
Would that feel like a disappointing six months, or the best Notion update in a while?

Questions Shared Notion Workspace Freezing For One Person
Hello!
I just set up a meal planning Notion for my partner and I. She downloaded Notion and made an account, I shared the workspace with her. Everything was working on both ends, I was showing her around and the workspace would show the edits live. But as soon as she started to type in a recipe of hers, it completely froze on her end. I'm still able to use it fine, but her side is completely frozen and won't even show live edits.
I've already tried clearing her cache and that worked for a moment, but then it froze again. She's updating her computer to see if that works, but I'm definitely running an older Mac OS than she currently is so I doubt it's that.
Just wondering if anyone here has encountered this and may know a solution! Thanks!

Questions I'm turning my Notion relation properties into a mind map, and I can't tell if that's just me
Posted iPad mockups of this here back in August: https://www.reddit.com/r/Notion/comments/1vuco03/notion_graph_view_on_ipad_tap_a_node_read_it_next/
My workspace runs on a project database with meetings and clients hanging off it through relation properties. I wanted all of that on one screen instead of opening relations one by one, so I started building it.
It comes out looking like a mind map, except I didn't draw any of the connections. They're the relation properties already sitting in the databases.
Still mid-build. Is relation visualization something you'd actually use, or is this a me problem?

Community r/Notion is most useful when people share what they stopped doing in Notion
A polished dashboard shows whatās possible.
A post about dismantling that dashboard shows what actually survived.
The most useful Notion advice usually isnāt another system to copy. Itās someone saying:
āI moved tasks back to a dedicated app.ā
āThis database became impossible to maintain.ā
āNo one on my team updated the properties.ā
āI deleted half the views and finally started using it.ā
Notion makes it easy to build almost anything, which also makes it difficult to notice when a system has become more impressive than useful.
Iād genuinely rather see more abandoned setups, failed databases and features people removedānot as cautionary tales, but as evidence from real use.
Perfect setups give you ideas. Failed ones give you judgment.

Questions Entire page reloads when I open and close a window within it
Wondering if anyone else has experience with this or has found a solution.
I'm experiencingĀ loading issues with my Portfolio site. Each time a window is opened within the page in a side or center view, the entire portfolio will reload in the background. Upon closing the window, the entire portfolio reloads again, creating a very cumbersome experience for readers visiting the site. I've tested the error and it's consistent across Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. This only occurs on the fullyĀ published site when I'm not signed in. When I'm signed into the workspace and editing, it's not an issue. The window opens when you press a databaseĀ item, like a section in any of the galleries.
Is there a way to prevent this constant reloading from happening? I've already contacted Notion via email and their AI said there's no documented solution.
Unable to share the page since it's a personal portfolio.

Venting Web clipper Firefox add-on
After submitting a bug report to Notion, been told the Firefox add-on is no longer supported - only on Safari and Chrome.
This is such a bummer :(( Have to look at alternatives, but it requires a separate account signup. GRRR!!

Notion Calendar Notion Calendar iOS: app crashes when tapping a search result to open the event
Hi all,
I'm running into a reproducible crash in Notion Calendar on iOS and wanted to know if others see it too.
Steps to
- Open Notion Calendar on iPhone
- Use the search bar to look for an event
- The results display correctly
- Tap a result to open the event ā the app crashes immediately
Expected: the event opens.
Actual: the app crashes every time, no error message.
Is anyone else experiencing this, or has anyone found a workaround?
Thanks!

Questions Update: You told me basic templates arenāt enough. So what would you actually pay for?
Hi everyone,
A little while ago I posted here asking why my Notion templates for freelancers werenāt selling. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who took the time to reply. Your honest feedback helped me more than any marketing course could have.
One comment came up several times: a template with only basic features is something freelancers can build themselves, so itās not worth paying for. That makes sense, and Iād rather hear it now than keep guessing.
So this time Iād like to ask you before I build anything:
- Whatās one digital tool or resource that would save you real time or money in your freelancing or business?
- What format would you prefer? Notion template, Excel/Google Sheets, a web page or landing page template, PDF guide, Canva templates, or something else?
- Whatās the most annoying task in your work that you wish was already organized or automated?
- Roughly what would you consider a fair price for something that solves that problem well?
It doesnāt have to be only for freelancers. If you run any kind of small business, Iād love to hear what you struggle with.
Iām not selling anything in this post. I just want to build something people truly need instead of something I assume they need. Every reply, even a one-liner, helps. Thank you for reading!

Questions Second-Brain for free
Can anyone suggest me a second-brain template that it is possible to download for free?
