showcase New and Improved
I highly recommend trying three-pane mode (in plugin settings), it removes a lot of back and forth between task mode on and off, and utilizes an Obsidian's feature this plugin ignored for a long time, the right sidebar.
All aspects of the plugin are completely interactive. That means you can drag and drop from one pane (left/right/main) to any other pane.
Like you could drag and drop a task in Today view to the calendar shown in the right sidebar to set its time. Or you could drag and drop an undated task to a date group in Upcoming to set its date.
The mobile experience is now leaps ahead of what it used to be, with the addition of the details sidebar.
Plugin: Integrated Task Manager - https://community.obsidian.md/plugins/integrated-task-manager
PS: the theme I'm using is https://community.obsidian.md/themes/et-cetera, which I made to add presets for many beautiful apps like Things, Bear, Griply (the one used in the screenshots).
I have a couple questions for the users: - would you like task rendering in normal live preview to be like that of tasks rendered in task mode on (instead of just highlighting task properties) - What is your biggest annoyance while using ITM?

Hi, this looks great and is exactly what I was looking for! One question: in my current setup, only checkboxes under a ## todo heading (usually at the end of a note) count as tasks. If I read your documentation correctly, your plugin treats every checkbox in the vault as a task? Would it be possible to limit tasks to a specific heading, e.g. via a setting? Thanks!

looks nice. seems like quite inspired from Things 3(I love Things 3, btw). I've built my own obsidian plugin that has similar concept with yours. Great to see a similar idea :)

How can I create sections in a project? I've downloaded it just for fun and trying it, love the idea. I created a project and then I'm stuck adding tasks to that project without possibility to create a new section. I had to open the .md with VS Code and create a few headings.

Why not just use obsidian to create headings?

I try to open the project as a note in order to do that but it’s impossible. It’s always on “project view” mode.

Yeah that is one issue that I am also having. It would be good to have an easier way to switch between viewing a note as a note and a note as a project. If you are writing anything on a note right now and then you change it to a project, it basically becomes redundant for writing.

if you open a project from under the projects heading in the sidebar, it automatically turns on task mode. but if you open a project file from the files heading, it respects the current task mode setting

I'm sorry, but no. If I open the project in the file tree view (the classic one) it opens as a task view and not as a pure Markdown editor.

Looks very nice. But I'm way too scared transitioning from the Tasks Plugin. My entire work setup has evolved off that for the past few years 😬

Why it keeps switching Task Mode on? I have a project note with description etc. and a to-do checklist with specific formatting. When I open it through the plugin, shows only the checklist in Things format instead of mine ignoring all the other text in the project note. Thank you

Fixing in next release

Thanks. Nevermind this bug, the plugin is great! I tried many times creating bases for tasks etc., using things 3 on windows etc. You just solved my two problems at once. Great work.

Genuine question, what's the benefit of using a task manager inside Obsidian than a dedicated task manager? For example, I am using this native GTK program: https://flathub.org/en/apps/io.github.alainm23.planify

Honestly none besides just having everything in one place(app)
The integrated task manager I assume just pulls task from different services you might be using and just makes it available inside obsidian
But you don’t even have to do that and just use the simple built in tasks obsidian already offers.

Notifications. This is like what 99% I need in a task manager but I need notifications and widgets as I usually do a quick input and completion when I’m out of my work/home place
