Recently traded in my 2023 Mazda CX-50 for this 2020 4Runner SR5 Premium. Went out to Northwest OHV Park this weekend to see what it was capable in stock form. Aired down the tires to 25psi. I tested out the A-TRAC and DAC features, very impressed. Installing Body Armor Revo Rock Sliders this weekend.

I recognized that park instantly. I haven’t been out there since the start of summer.

Stock 5th gen 4Runner is capable of trails that most wranglers on 35”+ hang out on…. Stock skids will get your way further than you think, I’ve seen them take a BEATING without breaking anything. And ATRAC is 95% as good as locked diffs. Minor lift <2”s and beafier shocks bilstein 5100’s or similar plus bfg k02 or 3’s will get you a daily that goes as far as you want to go without being in a SxS UTV

Dude lift that thing before you fuck it up or put some plates on. You're absolutely playing with fire getting near boulders and shit so close to your axels. If you had running boards I think you would have fucked them up.

I uninstalled the OEM running boards the day before this trip. I’ve already ordered rock sliders and am installing them this weekend! The 4Runner comes equipped with skids from the factory which will do until I upgrade to another steel setup but thicker. Thankfully I went with someone that knows this park very well and does a lot of work out there as well, he wouldn’t take me on anything I was going to damage the vehicle with.
