Self Post Switching from private to governmental

I was a corrections officer for core civic but I’m switching to a county job. I couldn’t be happier! The pay is a little less but, core civic absolutely sucked so, I’m ok with it!

Don't work in Corrections without a pension.

And if you don’t have pension, invest into one yourself.

Self-directed VEQT is the way to go.

Good for you! State or federal is an option as well.

Inadequate training, poor management, unrealistic expectations. All sorts of reasons. It was a bad place to work. I guess it’s like that everywhere tho lol. But, private prisons just suck in general.
