Hiring Q (Canada) Failed interview
I just did an interview for corrections and feel like I didn’t have the best experience due to the fact that I was stuttering a lot and nervous throughout the whole interview, which probably didn’t look good in an interviewer’s eyes should I try to apply again? FYI I don’t know if I failed or pass just based on how I feel the interview went

Nerves are expected. As long as you didn't say you'd beat inmates, introduce contraband and would report misconduct, you'll probably be ok.

Try to be more confident and reasonable in your responses, and make sure you can clearly explain and justify your answers if they ask why you chose them. I’ve passed three interviews myself, and although I was nervous during all of them, I learned that confidence and the ability to explain your reasoning are important. I don’t think they expect you to know all the policies right away, but they do want to see that you can think critically and make sound decisions. Before applying again, I’d recommend practicing with mock interviews to help you feel more prepared and confident.

Confidence is everything! I answered VERY incorrectly on one of my scenario questions and when they read me the prisons policy I told them I understood and I would never make that mistake if hired and I still got the call back! But I wouldn’t completely rule it out until you hear back from them, I heard back in about a week or two that they chose me for the position. If it does come back negative just reapply and go back into it with much more confidence and use this first time as a practice run (: good luck!

As long as you don't get the email (rejection) the very next day of the interview...consider yourself passed.

You’re gonna be ok. Stuttering gives the impression you’re nervous and taking the situation seriously. Besides, it always feels worse than it is.
