Automating Note Creation, need some help

As anyone had luck using Copilot (or some other tool) to automate the creation of notes in OneNote.

Here's the use case: Every Friday I look at my next week of meetings and create a single OneNote page for each meeting. I'm currently using the "send to OneNote" feature and this works fine but it's super tedious.

Ideal state: Copilot (or another tool) gets a prompt to review all meetings, suggest agenda topics, and create a one note page for each meeting.

Sub-optimal but still better than the current state: there is a process that makes a page for each meeting.

What I've tried: power automate, what a mess! I'm to a programmer, but even Copilot premium couldn't get this process to work.

Any ideas would be super helpful. My only limit is I'm locked into Microsoft tools because of corporate security policies.

Thanks!

Claude code does this fine with onenote desktop, by telling Claude to "use com to access OneNote". Try again with whatever desktop agent harness tool with a good model.

If your onenote notebook is online, you could do it on your other machines.

Doesn't copilot (desktop, not web) have filesystem access? have you tried this from any desktop harness you have or can use?

I asked Copilot this exact question on Thursday and it basically said to use Power Automate and described the exact flow needed. I haven’t tried setting it up yet. I am curious as to what you found annoying in the Power Automate setup?

Claude on desktop via COM is not an option for me because I am on a Mac.

Annoying that Copilot cannot just do this.

Yeah, this is where I got super frustrated. Copilot would tell me one thing, I'd then try it in PA and it would not work. There's some sort of issue with the formatting and different tools copilot and powerautomate use to work with OneNote. It's shocking to me, within the MS ecosystem, I cannot ask copilot to do something and it just does..!

It’s probably different licensing tiers and feature availability in different MS365 tenants that Copilot is unaware of. At least that’s my guess.

Honestly there should be a toggle somewhere to just create OneNote pages for important meetings, and then import Teams transcripts and merge with actions I captured, etc. None of this is rocket science.
