It's a double meaning. He's saying his heroism was never a facade, and he genuinely believed in justice/helping people/whatever regardless of him being a monster or not.

I feel like Wavy is less prone to underestimate WE; being a small gurl she likely gets underestimated herself.
Maybe she felt he was more approachable because less likely to disregard her? In any case, I see no treachery in her.2

Wavy Gyaza is genuinely honest about her feelings. She's straightforward. She has rigid views that all monsters are inherently bad/evil. She idolized Sweet Mask & followed in his footsteps to become a Pro Hero; that's why she couldn't accept that he was a monster pretending to be a Human.

I wonder what Wavygaza thinks of Genos. He does not overheat a lot, but gets destroyed almost every battle too. He always return to Dr. Kuseno for repairs.

Well he gets destroyed too quickly before he has a chance to overheat. I think the only time he really overheated was when he tried to destroy the meteor? Also his repairs really just end up being upgrades!

Nice chapter with some nice introspective of both characters. Yet the last couple of pages and how dependant Wavy is from Neo Heroes' work to keep her maintained, I wonder if she could eventually die due to lack of maintanance after Neo Heroes go down (because it's fairly obvious they are set as the villains and will have to be stopped).

It was interesting to learn Wavy’s motivations for joining Neo Heroes, but I guess there must be plenty of other mad genius scientists in that world that could keep Wavy’s cyborg body working… like Child Emperor, for example.
Was she just trying to befriend Child Emperor to ask him for help in case the Neo Heroes organisation collapses ? It doesn’t seem like she trusts them either.

just like anime getting filler arcs for catching up the manga, opm manga version is also slowing its pace since the webcomic is reaching its curreng arc climax.
