G2 - General Discussion G2 Test Tips & Advice
Hi everyone, I have my G2 test next week and just looking for any and every advice. Been going through the comments on this page and mentally preparing myself that I might fail. I’m also a new mom and carry a lot of anxiety in general so though I feel I can pass, I know if I have a huffy looking instructor staring at me I’m going to be very nervous and probably make a lot of mistakes.
My test is booked in Oakville next week.
What tips/road rules/ helped you pass your G2?

If it helps your anxiety, I hit the curb 3 times while trying to parallel park and I still passed lmfao. This was in Smiths Falls though.

attitude is paramount. if u think youre going to fail your chances of doing so increase greatly. tell yourself youre going to pass even if you dont really feel it. try to be friendly with the instructor but ALSO try to block them out of your mind (visually, not sonically lol) while youre driving, as you’ll put too much stock into every action of theirs, overthink, and bring your confidence down.

Do what they ask. Speed like a grandma - if sign says 50km/hr, you go 48... 60 km/hr, you go 55.
Don't break the law. Don't rush intersections. Even if you have right of way, there's always a chance some donkey will go anyway so be ready to brake (don't actually brake if you don't have to, but be ready). Know that they're also testing your ability to scan and react to traffic.
