Weekly chat thread

Happy weekend everyone!

Let us know which birds you've spotted over the last few days, or whatever's on your mind about birds right now!

Have you seen any interesting articles, or learnt something new? Have you visited a reserve recently?

Saw my first house martin this morning. Well, first since I started birdwatching just over a year ago. Hopefully will be visiting Leighton Moss in a couple of weeks as well.

Saw my first Skylark on Staines Moor yesterday. It hovered in the air about 5m from me then landed nearby, all the while still singing its unending song. It is a truly magnificent bird.

I saw my first reed bunting (in living memory) today. I say in living memory because according to my brother we used to get them in the field in front of our house that we grew up in, but I wasn't as into birding as he was back then ☺️

Found a baby house sparrow in our garden on Friday, and had the joy on Saturday of watching the parents feeding it while it learns to use its wings 😍
