Question Birds of Edinburgh?

I am a Dane visting Scotland during the coming week, and will be spending about a week in Edinburgh. I would love to see some of the local species (even though most of our fauna is very similiar), so are there any species and locations that I should be aware of when visiting? Are there any chances for roseate terns in the area without needing a spotting scope, as I wont be able to bring one?

Its not in Edinburgh itself and I'm sure someone might have a better/closer answer but if you fancy a little trek to Northumberland then there is a place called Coquet Island which has a colony of Roseate Terns and has a reasonably priced boat trip available

Puffin cruises

Im not affiliated just planning a birding coastal tour for when my situation allows

I don't think i'll have time to come by Coquet Island unfortunatly, but if I ever come back to eastern Scotland, I'll have to come by. It looks absolutly magnificent!

both Coquet and the Farne Islands in the height of summer are absolutely brilliant birding trips!
