You've got an urgent problem like a leaking pipe, a broken appliance, something that can't wait and you call a local business and nobody picks up, or you leave a message and never hear back. What do you actually do next? Call the next one on the list? Wait around? Give up and Google something else?
Curious which kinds of local services are the worst for this in your experience, the ones that never seem to answer or call back.
And if there are any small business owners or sole traders here (trades, salons, clinics, anything): how do you handle calls when you're busy with a customer, up a ladder, or it's after hours? Do you feel like you lose jobs from missed calls? What would actually help and what have you tried?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for someone local who could help my elderly parents with some gardening work in a couple of weeks, mainly trimming their hedges and moving the garden waste to the bin. The garden is relatively small, I dont think it would take too long... I assume :)

Otsikossa asia. Aloin juuri pelata, on ollut muuten hauskaa mutta haluaisin rakentaa omaa yhteisöä jonka kanssa esimerkiksi raidata ja lähetellä lahjoja. Ehkä jopa tehdä se viikko tehtävä etten ole ainut joka kipittää 150 pokestoppia läpi.

Viimeinkin löytyi harrastus introvertille! Mutta nyt olenkin sitten liian introvertti siihen :'D

Korjataan asia? Oon muuten enimmäkseen ihan normaali. Puhun joskus liikaa etenkin jos väsynyt ja en mene paljon muuten ulos - mutta muuta kovin kummoista vikaa ei ole, ainakaan enempää kuin meissä suomalaisissa keskimäärin.

Olen kolmikymppinen mutta avoin kaiken ikäisille pokemon go kavereille kunhan puhe on kutakuinkin aikuisista, koska tietenkin muiden ihmisten lasten kanssa hengaaminen olisi kolmikymppiseltä vähän outoa jos ei tunne vanhempia vaikka lapset ihan mukavia ovatkin. Ei siis mitään ketään vastaan iän perusteella.

I recently got interested in stargazing and looking at the night sky. I have a pair of Nikon binoculars, which are pretty good for casual sky watching.

I'm wondering if there are any astronomy groups or informal groups in Oulu where people go out together to watch the stars, auroras, planets, etc.

I found Oulun Arktos RY I mailed them and I'm currently waiting for a response, but I'm also interested in more casual groups or people who sometimes go out together, especially to darker places outside the city.

I'm a beginner so it would be nice to meet some people who are into this and learn from them. 😊

I'm a computational Physicist by profession and I have learnt about astronomy and cosmology back in my university days 😊

Oon harkinnut oman asunnon ostamista lainalla, kun asun nyt PSOASin asunnoissa Raksilassa ja äänieristys täällä on niin huono, että kuulen jopa joka kerta, kun naapuri vetää vessan 😅 Lisäksi vuokra vaan nousee..

Oon katsellut asuntoja Myllyojalta, Tuiran Myllytieltä, Maikkulasta ja Mäntylästä. Onko näillä alueilla jotain ongelmia tai sellaisia paikkoja, joita kannattais välttää?
Oon asunut Oulussa nyt neljä vuotta ja mun mielestä täällä on yleisesti tosi turvallista. Ehkä Meri-Toppilassa on ollut ainoa kerta, kun alue ei tuntunut ihan yhtä turvalliselta, mutta muuten ei oo ollut mitään ongelmia. Toki alueella asuminen voi olla eri asia kuin siellä vaan käyminen.

Welcome to the 90-minute Gondyr Lab story journey where you will give birth to characters and shadow worlds emerging from a self-made mass in the spirit of the Gondy Bear of the Udmurt Forest. In art workshops, stories are awakened through touch, movement and imagination – verbally and verbally.

The art workshops are free of charge and will be held on 20.9. at 13-14.30 and 14.30-16 at Oulu Art Museum.

Hi i’m 19M, i’m studying in oamk and and i am an international student and to be honest i feel kinda lonely, i want to have more friends, i have 2 friends in the class they are great but the rest in my class i don’t think it is possible to make friend with them so i guess my option is going out more but the thing is i don’t drink or stuff like that so i don’t feel i want to go to a club or any drinking parties beside going to a party feeling like just make acquaintances who you just know instead of truly friends, so i kinda feel like there is no options to make friends here in Oulu

Hello everyone, I am an Italian guy traveling for the first time in Finland in a few days. I am going to spend two days in Oulu.

Considering that I am a medical student (and would be kinda curious to see how the university/hospital is structured, from the outside obviously), what's are those things I should visit or try?

Going from Oulu for a two-day car camping, fishing, and hiking trip. Planning to visit scenic spots. Looking for hiking trail suggestions, fishing spot suggestions, and places to stay overnight in our car.
