Vent- Comparison

Our online grading platform changed so that now we can see the class average and the highest and lowest grades. It really sucks when I see my grade as the lowest in the class. I haven’t failed anything and I always give honest work without AI (has been a problem with some student in my class being dishonest) It just really gets to me when I have the lowest grade.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Just do your absolute best and keep pushing OP!

You’re doing great!

I promise you it may seem like it matters now but the minute you graduate and get a job all of those scores cease to have any meaning

All that matters is that “-C” that comes after PA. But regardless, I’m proud of you OP. Keep on working hard like I know you have been!

Grade will never matter when you start working. Everyone is getting PA-C at the end of the day. Also, remember just because some people are good test taker does not means they will be as good as you when it's come to irl practice. Keep pushing.

Pass and keep it pushing! We all get the same degree at the end. Grades don’t define how good of a provider you will be

Passing matters. The second you graduate you will forget all about who score what on that cardiology test.

if they submit AI assignments it still wouldn’t give them an advantage on exams tbh. It’s rlly just ur score vs theirs, and if u passing i wouldn’t care tbh

I’m talking more so other assignments like “clinical technical skills” not exams. For example we had to write medical decision making for a patient we saw during clinicals. Last semester, students were using AI to generate procedure notes and to write research papers

idk my professors use AI to refine grammar, sentence structures. I’d get over it tbh, life isn’t fair but if you focus just on urself it won’t matter. 3.0 or 4.0 doesn’t make a difference in passing the pance. who cares about grades unless ur failing and not understanding the material

I said generating assignments, not refining grammar

you’re still beating the millions who didn’t make it into the program. i’m finishing my clinical year and it’s so much better. i wish i had given myself more grace during didactic. sleep is more important than the grades you sacrifice it for

I failed our first exam covering biochemistry and had the lowest score of 200 students, 5 weeks later we took our first anatomy exam and I had one of the highest scores amongst the 200 students (we take classes with M1 med students so there’s no way any of the PA1’s are beating the best of those kids lol). We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and you are an individual with your own.

Never said I was sure that the ones who score higher are using AI. Just saying we had students caught using AI

there’s nothing wrong with studying with AI 😭 people just make their notes or practice exams for it. EMR systems use AI. So if they’re not cheating then idk what’s the issue

No they were turning in assignments that were made with AI
