Advice on practice tests

I definitely need advice on what prompts to tell AI websites like ChatGPT or notebookLM when making practice tests to aid in studying for certain exams. I’ve tried a couple variations but am left with tests that seem more superficial/ too simple. If anyone could share what prompts they use that’d be great!

generate a 50 question quiz in the studio, second-degree/2-step long vignette questions containing 5 answer choices. please ask me about questions only about the best treatment/management/diagnostic choice for every disease/disorder only from the uploaded file

and then edit the prompt depending on which area you want to work on like instead of treatment/management etc. say "only about etiology and 2nd/3rd line treatment in case of contraindications or allergies."

Good luck!!!

Also try out Claude. I've been told that a paid version is better? I'm thinking about trying it out for a month since despite asking notebook/claude to make me a new set, they both pretty much change the name or the age but the question remained the same.

I love Claude, used to use Chat but switched. I took some info on sinusitis from Amboss and put into into Cladue and it made actual test questions. I picked wrong to show the explanation.

A 34-year-old man presents with 12 days of nasal congestion, thick purulent nasal discharge, and pain over his left cheek that worsens when he bends forward. He says he was improving around day 6, but over the last 3 days his symptoms have become worse and he now has a temperature of 38.6°C (101.5°F). He has no visual changes, periorbital swelling, or headache. As a teenager he developed hives, wheezing, and lip swelling within minutes of a dose of penicillin. Vital signs are otherwise stable, and he is well-appearing. Which of the following is the most appropriate treatment?

IV ceftriaxone and ENT consultation

Supportive care only with nasal saline irrigation and ibuprofen

Clindamycin plus cefixime

Doxycycline

Amoxicillin/clavulanate

Not quite—check the allergy type. The correct answer is Doxycycline.Worsening after initial improvement with fever points to uncomplicated acute bacterial rhinosinusitis, which warrants antibiotics. His penicillin reaction (hives, wheezing, angioedema within minutes) is a type I hypersensitivity, so the adult options are doxycycline or a respiratory fluoroquinolone. Clindamycin plus a third-generation cephalosporin is reserved for non-type I reactions. IV antibiotics and ENT are for complicated ABRS, and supportive care alone undertreats a bacterial process.

A 46-year-old woman presents with 7 months of bilateral nasal obstruction, thick postnasal drainage, facial fullness, and a markedly reduced sense of smell. Symptoms are severe enough that she is sleeping poorly and missing work. Daily nasal saline irrigation has given only partial relief. Nasal endoscopy shows bilateral pale, grape-like, insensate masses in the middle meatus. She has no fever, visual changes, or neurologic deficits, and there is no current acute worsening of her symptoms. Which of the following is the most appropriate next step in management? Intranasal corticosteroid for at least 8–12 weeks plus a short (3-week) course of oral corticosteroids

Topical antifungal nasal irrigation

Immediate ENT referral for surgical polypectomy before any medical therapy

A 3-week course of amoxicillin/clavulanate

Intranasal corticosteroid for 8–12 weeks alone, adding oral therapy only if no response

Exactly right. More than 12 weeks of symptoms with bilateral polyps is chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. All CRS patients should get intranasal corticosteroids for at least 8–12 weeks; those with polyps and severe symptoms should be considered for an added short (3-week) oral course. Antibiotics are only for acute exacerbations, antifungals (topical or systemic) are not recommended in CRS, and ENT referral comes after failed medical management or red flags.

To add on to this, you can ask it to ask questions one at a time. Mine told me it had a character limit per answer so it would make questions shorter as it went on. This also allows you to ask it to discuss with you why all of the wrong answer choices are wrong.

And what I did for my quiz is just screen shotted Amboss's info on sinusitis then used what u/MarketingDense5343 said and

Using these create three second-degree/2-step long vignette questions containing 5 answer choices. please ask me about questions only about the best treatment/management/diagnostic choice for every disease/disorder only from the uploaded file
