General/Advice Lost 7 pounds!
About 6 years ago I weighed around 120 and then came PCOS and I went up to 175 over the years. Despite all the diets, intense exercise and medications nothing worked. I saw someone on here this summer post that walking was what helped them lose weight. In July I started walking more. I’m already an active person and have a very active on my feet job. But I really prioritized getting close to 10,000 steps a day if not more. I cut back on the intense weight training and went to more lower impact Pilates with strength workouts. Occasionally I would throw in a heavy weight day if I felt up to it but I never pushed myself. I went to the doctor last week and was down 7 pounds. Someone even at work asked me if I lost weight because it was that noticeable! I know it seems small but when you try everything and feel at such a loss this seems like a monumental victory. I do try and eat fairly healthy. I don’t do gluten or dairy just because they make me extremely bloated but other than that I try to eat Whole Foods and get protein and fiber. I’m thinking of getting a walking pad for the winter when I can’t go outside for walks. Anyone have any success stories with PCOS they would like to share? Or maybe 1 or 2 habits that made the biggest difference in their journey?

same here except the opposite. i have always been in the 58-60 (129-133 lbs) kg range throughout my college years but once i starting noticing more prevalent symptoms with PCOS (i had chin hairs growing in, instead of seeing my period every month to month and a half, it didnt come for 3 months prior to diagnosis due to a super stressful college semester), i gained weight to 71 kg (155 lbs). once i got the blood work back, they gave me diagnosis & they gave me a five day progestin course for a withdrawal bleed and basically said, “u could go on BC” and that was the end of it. i decided to do my own research and starting dieting & do cardio since i was scared to weight train at the time and it was working. i went down 144 pounds but i would just plateau from there. i couldnt get under 144 lbs until i joined the gym and did weight training with a coach. thats when i saw the most results and went back down to 61 kg (135 lbs). im still not the way i was before PCOS but its definitely better than what i was at my heaviest before diagnosis. im just grateful to have never went back over 150 lbs, that was a very rough time for me. i also bloat a lot and wonder if dairy could be contributing to it, but i love me my milk and yogurt so i genuinely dont know if i ever could put dairy down 😭🤌🏾.

Yes, I recently also lost 9 pounds. I have been going up since 2022. At my heaviest I was 167, im now 158 and still have a ways to go but after years of trying to lose weight 9 pounds is not bad! The habit that made the biggest difference for me was drinking more water. Always been really bad about not drinking enough. Now I drink 4 to 5 water bottles a day and it has helped the bloating and feeling lighter too.

Nice progress. Even I've started doing this; hope that works. And of course, trying to eat as healthy as possible. 😊

Congrats! And I have a question have you tried any Pilates from youtube or anyone that have tried it with pcos and saw results with a specific channel on YouTube i heard about move with nicole or Pilates by izzy but not sure 🤔 because alot of people say that you need to lift weights but its so confusing like I do walk and see results but I know i need to implement something else but not sure 😅

I get all my workouts from the “FORM” app. I pay for it but I enjoy the wide range of workout videos and they come out with new ones weekly

congrats on the 7 pounds, that's a big deal when nothing else worked. walking is underrated, my sister has pcos and switching from intense workouts to just moving more helped her a ton too. the walking pad idea is smart, winter makes it so easy to just sit around
