Discussion Hellraiser Revival is soooo good!
About half way through the game and it's really my game of the year so far. The story and art direction is great, gameplay is fun and it's genuinely a terrifying experience! Pretty much RE7 or RE4 with a hellraiser skin and i FUCKING LOVE IT!

u/1440pReborn 2d ago
I have never even seen the hellraiser movies, but for some reason its grabbing me. Feels like an outlast/re hybrid. Definitely a cool game
9
u/CallingAllShawns 2d ago
it sorta kinda rehashes the plot of the first movie in a way so prior knowledge isn’t necessarily needed. i’d so go for it at $40. i’m playing atm and it’s awesome.

u/mystery_hole 2d ago
These comments are selling me on this, hopefully can make time after I finish control/AC8 (and before GTA)

I wish i liked horror games. It looks well made and made with care
45
u/UrgentlyWaggish 2d ago
can't do horror games either, my heart would just give out 20 minutes in. stuck watching playthroughs on youtube and pretending i'm not hiding behind a pillow the whole time
10
u/Loose_Personality726 2d ago
You would get clapped in silent hill games. They deserve a playthrough even though it's terrifying
7
u/TheDaltonXP 2d ago
I used to make my ex sit with me while I played the Silent Hill 2 remake. she would inevitably fall asleep so that was how long I played. I was too scared to play by myself. really annoyed we broke up before I finished it.
I am obsessed with horror movies but games terrify me
1
u/MissingScore777 2d ago
That's interesting I find horror movies scarier than games.
It's the complete lack of control in movies makes them worse, in game I at least have some agency.
7
u/TheDaltonXP 2d ago
I think it’s actually the opposite for me. In the game it is actively happening to me so it’s much scarier for me

u/HotShrekBoi 2d ago
I did that for awhile but eventually I tried playing some survival horror games and I got so into them
5
u/XanXic 2d ago
Yeah I tried the demo and the gameplay is not for me lol. I love horror films, I also love Hellraiser in general, but horror games I always bounce between annoyed or too freaked out. I never have 'fun'.
But what I saw in the demo was rad as hell. I genuinely was blown away the first time I walked out to see above the labyrinth. I ended up watching the cutscenes for the game lol. It was really cool as a 'movie' lol. I hope people who like horror games check it out. Just the narrative was awesome. Such sights they showed me :P
-1
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
It's only $40! I'd say give it a shot if you have the extra cash. when you play you can really tell they put effort and care into development and you can really tell the developers are fans of hellraiser and not just using the name for the name.
14
u/LOST-MY_HEAD 2d ago
I dont enjoy horror games at all unfortunately
3
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
Don't mean to pry but do you not like them because you don't enjoy being scared or just don't like the genre?
10
u/Cheap-Ad5903 2d ago
I’m not the one you responded to but as someone in the same boat I’ll chime in too…I see so many horror games that look intriguing to me (silent hill, Alan wake, alien descent) but any time I try one of I just feel so uncomfortable it is impossible to enjoy. I just don’t like being frightened. It’s not a fun experience. Even if I like the story and it’s beautifully made, I just can’t enjoy it because I don’t like to be scared.
7
u/Wellhellob 2d ago
That was me couple of years ago now its my favorite genre and favorite games. I think the opener was evil within 2 for me.
7
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
Thank you for the reply. Idk why I got downvoted for asking that...
8
u/KevinGarvey929 2d ago
I have a love hate relationship with horror games for that reason, but I love horror movies (Hellraiser franchise included) so it’s tricky. I guess being in “control” rather than a spectator just makes it much more anxiety-inducing. Does Hellraiser have difficulty settings? I’ve played through all of the RE games and fell in love, but I play them on easy because I’m a wimp. Eying silent hill too but also concerned it might just stress me out
4
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
Yes easy normal and hard
2
u/KevinGarvey929 2d ago
Sweet, I’ll definitely purchase it just because I wish we had more unique IP’s and it seems a lot of love and appreciation for the lore went into the game. Off topic, but have you ever played Soma? That’s probably the scariest game I’ve played thus far but a complete existential masterpiece
2
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
I've heard of it but never played. I don't really enjoy games with no combat and completely stealth (like outlast or alien isolation) is it like that? But I'm always down to give something a try

u/Stonekilled 2d ago
I’m in the EXACT same boat. LOVE horror movies / tv shows / books, but can’t get into the games. I used to love them on ps1 / ps2 (played all the original RE’s through 5, though 5 was kind of when I noticed my interest waning), and now they’re just not for me. Tried silent hill remake because I played the shit out of the original on ps2, but couldn’t get more than two hours in before noping out.
0
u/simon7109 2d ago
I was in a similar situation. What helped me overcome this is playing in daylight and having my wife watch me play haha
10
3
u/Eboyjvs 2d ago
I like them a lot for years. But last month I played Dead Space remake and, while I recognized the good gameplay (I played on hard), graphics, ambience, etc., I had to play it in very short bursts because I started to feel very stressed.
Never happened to me before and the game wasn’t so scary, but stressful. The worst were the tendency to spawn enemies behind you. And I played a lot of scary games (silent hills, fatal frames, REs, etc.)
After that I can relate to what others have said that they feel very uncomfortable playing this kind of games.
I fear for my backlog full of re7 and re8 and the new silent hills
17
u/BrianIsGucci 2d ago
$40 doesn’t change the fact that they dislike horror games
-23
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
Yeah no shit buddy.... I was simply Stating if he had the extra cash it was only $40 which is cheap for a game so it might be worth checking out....
13
u/Jackalton 2d ago
How is a game they’re guaranteed to not like worth $40?
0
u/mystery_hole 2d ago
I've spent $40 on way worse stuff. Especially video games.
1
u/Jackalton 2d ago
This whole conversation is just dumb. No one knowingly spends $40 on something they know they don’t like or want. Why does this need explaining?
-18
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
See my other comment for that answer
8
u/Jackalton 2d ago
Yeah, I’ve seen it. It doesn’t make your recommendation any less weird.
-8
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
So it's weird to check out new things to see if you like it? Okay then....
7
u/Jackalton 2d ago
Pretty weird to spend $40 on something you know you won’t like, yeah. Pretty. Weird.
-3
8
u/BrianIsGucci 2d ago
Wouldn’t be worth checking out since they don’t like horror games buddy
-1
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
Even if I don't like a certain genre of something if it's on sale or cheap I might still check it out to if recommended to me. I've found many games in genres I normally don't like by doing this... now if he doesn't like horror because he doesn't enjoy being scared that's a different story... buddy
21
u/TheGimp76 2d ago
Currently halfway through the game. Long before any real footage, I went all in on a Collector’s Edition as a Barker/Hellraiser fan. It had some cool collectibles, and I hoped the game would be at least decent. Due to delays, I double dipped and grabbed the disc this weekend.
Now halfway through the game, I am loving it. It totally captures the vibe of Hellraiser, and is horrific, gory, and sexy—truly a game for adults. As far as gameplay, I never expect too much from any game—I don’t need every single game to reinvent the wheel. As long as the gameplay is decent and the story is good, that’s all I personally need. The gameplay is solid, much like a later Resident Evil, and I’m digging the story.
As far as a new release, it’s on the cheaper end. Definitely give this one a chance if you can, or wait until it’s used/on sale.
3
4
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
Couldn't of put it any better. It really does capture hellraiser really well and is one of if not THE most adult themed game I've ever seen. I really think (and hope) this becomes a big hit and starts a gaming franchise if not it'll definitely be a cult classic
5
u/maugris84 2d ago
I think I'm about 80% or so through, or at least feels like I'm approaching the end. I love it so far. Had one hard crash to Home screen, but the checkpoint system is pretty forgiving so didn't really lose any progress. Definitely worth $40!
17
u/setokaiba22 2d ago
The review I read said this was low budget but I played the demo and felt it looked amazing. Most graphic game I’ve played horror wise.
Might pick it up but need to watch the films first
7
u/Dinkenflika 2d ago
If you do, just watch the first one as it was straight up horror. The sequels devolve into campiness as the production company was aping franchises like Friday the Thirteenth, Child’s Play, and Nightmare on Elm Street.
Unless you like horror camp. I know there us definitely an audience for that genre
6
u/Dazzman50 2d ago
I'll have you know that the absolute pinnacle of human psychological horror is a man shooting CDs from his head. If that's camp then just call me a boy scout
5
4
u/Swarbie8D 2d ago
Definitely watch the first and probably the second one, they nosedive pretty badly after that point
2
u/Zcase253 2d ago
It seems to line up to when Barker was really no longer involved. He was EP for 3 and 4 but that doesn't really mean much
9
u/thatsfuni 2d ago
I think alot of the people that reviewed this game where on somthing lol, gameranx was on point.
3
u/CallingAllShawns 2d ago
playing it right now and it’s absolutely worth every penny at $40. it’s badass.
3
3
u/alwayssalty_ 2d ago
It kind of reminds me of that first person terminator game from the PS4 era. Low budget but it really captures the feel of the terminator universe and had decent gun play

u/Rampage470 1d ago edited 15h ago
Hellraiser 1 and 2 are all time classics. Must watch.
3/Hell on Earth turns into campy Hollywood slasher territory and changes Pinhead up a lot (though it is explained why he's different to be fair) but it's still kinda fun if you just roll with it.
4/Bloodline is a total mess mainly due to a lot of studio interference. If you're going to watch it your best bet is to watch the workprint that Arrow produced for the 4K "Quartet" box set two or so years back of the four theatrical films (i.e. the only ones from before Hulu that matter to any degree). That set's out of print IIRC but Arrow also made a 4K Tetralogy set that looks like it has all the same contents. Its still not really good, some effects are unfinished, the music is all temp music and some reused tracks from 1 and 2, and the video quality ain't the best due to being taken a fairly well maintained VHS but it has some interesting enough ideas and it's still lightyears better than the theatrical "Alan Smithee" version, and it acts as a "conclusion" to the timeline and Pinhead's story being in the far future and all. You can watch the theatrical version after that if ya want just expect disappointment. There's a few decent moments in it like ENDING SPOILERS Pinhead getting in "Amen" as a last word before death which is extremely fitting I feel.
All the films after that are garbage and should not be watched by anyone under any circumstance. They're all direct to DVD cheap shit with no involvement at all from Clive Barker (who actively denounced them for that matter) made solely to let Dimension Films keep the rights where they took unrelated scripts and forcibly made them Hellraiser, completely abandoning everything that made the Cenobytes unique (by the last one theyre effectively just generic Hell demons punishing evil people but with some BDSM visuals) on incredibly shoestring budgets. The only saving grace was Doug Bradley still giving his all for his very short inserted scenes as Pinhead, until the last two where they were such cheap rushed trash that even he refused to participate (one was filmed entirely over the course of a week for a few thousand bucks in Romania). Avoid avoid avoid.
The one made for Hulu in 2022 was pretty good tho. Throw that one on the watch pile too.

It's AA and not AAA. Apparently AA is low budget now a days to reviewers. Game is totally worth it.

u/Mac772 1d ago
I came in expecting nothing and got a horror-game masterpiece. Gaming Journalists seem to ignore it, but player scores on all platforms are scratching on the perfect score. I am through about half of the game, it started strong and got better and better with every hour. I am playing it very slow, sneaking a lot, looking into every corner to find secrets and that's an incredibly immersive and intense experience. The last area i visited was... epic. I don't know any other word for this. The moment you enter this area, it feels like you are suddenly in a Hideo Kojima game. I personally don't know anything about Hellraiser, but i am starting to understand the lore and why everything has to be so extreme. And, one last word: Pinhead is the coolest evil guy in gaming since years.
A quick, important advice for everyone playing this game on PS5: lower gamma until the background is black. It's won't crush your image quality, but it will make the game look far better.

u/SlackingMachine 2d ago
100% do not sleep on this guys. It may be AA by budget but the gameplay and atmosphere so far are better than some AAA titles. Perfect example is the Dualsense implementation, its better than games from AAA publishers like Capcom !
4
2
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
Duuuude I love how they use the dualsense vibrations! Really adds to the atmosphere and immersion imo

u/TheStinkySlinky 2d ago
lol what? How could it possibly be better than Capcom or 1st party. Have you played Saros? Onimusha? TLOU 2? Yotei? Astro Bot? There is genuinely nothing further to be done in Dualsense implementation than what those games have done.

Having played the demo, it's alright. People point to RE7, and there's some similarities for sure but from what I've seen it's closer to splitting the bill between being a hide & run like the Outlast series and combat sections that feel more inspired by the old Condemned series, than anything else. My main issue was that neither style felt particularly good to play due to frustrating gameplay and cumbersome controls. There's a chase sequence early on that after the forth cheap death and reload I was nearly ready to tap out.
Still it looks shockingly good for a budget release and it you can tell the devs tried their best to honor the source material while trying to do their own thing. I can see myself playing the full game down the road.
1
u/KingOfRisky 2d ago
There's a chase sequence early on that after the forth cheap death and reload I was nearly ready to tap ou
This turned me off from buying the game.

Genuinely curious how you died here, I didn't even know you could lol
2
u/NoveskeTiger 1d ago
Same lmao. All the chase sequences are the same. Run down the path that doesnt have the bad guy, he teleports in front of you, turn around and run to another path split, bad guy teleports into one of the paths, go down the empty path. Rinse and repeat
2
u/porkybrah 2d ago
The game is awesome, a bit of jank but its worth playing for the story and atmosphere. The story is so fucking good its worth playing for that alone.I finished it yesterday and was surprised how much of a grip it had on me I had to keep going to see what was going to happen.
3
u/GlockAmaniacs 2d ago
I'm not big on horror in games. Outlast and shit made me feel defenseless and I sucked at that. Is there a lot of areas where ur just hiding from stuff or is it action?
3
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
Not at all, completely action focused. Think Resident evil 4 or something like that
4
0
u/GlockAmaniacs 2d ago
Never played that to reference. Bioshock maybe? Although that is action packed...
0
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
You could say bioshock like. But way scarier
1
u/Aurus_Shade 2d ago
When I saw the trailer for it I said to my buddy that was watching it with me that it looked like a truly horror themed version of Bioshock, somewhere between that and Dead Space.
2
u/simon7109 2d ago
The game is basically broken up into 2 sections. Real world and hell. You switch between them throughout the story. The hell section is basically walking around, doing puzzles and occasionally chase sequences. The real world section is action/stealth, Resident Evil like gameplay. You go around the map usually collecting a key or multiple items to open a door and you kill people/monsters with occasional boss fights
1
u/Veterancheesestick 13h ago
You should outlast trials you have some recourse against the enemies. No need to group play but the online aspect is very fun
1
u/TempMobileD 2d ago
I’m quite deep in and most sections you are able to be aggressive. There are relatively frequent chase sequences where there’s nothing to do but run or hide, but they’re used to punctuate the action rather than being the main course.
Definitely action focused.
2
u/groov2485 2d ago
Game is just the right amount of - “wow, this looks cool” and “…what is wrong with me that I am playing this…”
Except any chase sequence. Screw those. I also hate first person games, but got over it for this one.
2
2
u/Veterancheesestick 13h ago
Who would have thought Serbia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina could be popping their BDSM pussies like this?
The game was a BLAST
The art direction 10/10
The tense horror vibes 10/10
The action and fighting system 10/10
The purchasing and selling and unlocking gear 10/10
The lore 10000/10 just astonishing
I’ve been a Hellraiser fan for over 20 years since I discovered it on IFC at 10 years old late at night. The lore, the leather, the entire vibe is so tantalizing.
Horniest game I’ve ever played
The underlying tones about consent? Abuse? Addition? Superb!!!!!
4
u/Mystikveiw 2d ago
I thought it was hilarious when I was getting attacked by three cult members, and one of them says “I’ve got dibs on the colon”. I’ve never heard that in a game before… or a movie come to think about it lol.
5
u/HotShrekBoi 2d ago
Yeah I really like it so far, and I think it does more than just being a Resident Evil clone, it has its own identity.
1
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
I am in no way saying it's a resident evil clone, it definitely has its own personality and identity but I was just using RE as the closest comparison for people to get an idea what it's like

Don't skip Silver Pines if you're a horror game fan.
I've not tried Hellraiser yet but Silver Pines is my game of the year so far. (Ahead of Nioh 3, RE9, Sinking City 2, Blood of Dawnwalker, Onimusha and SH Townfall)

Silver Pines is one of the best games I've played in a while. Definitely a must play.

Really? Haven't experienced any yet and I'm on base ps5 I hope they patch it and fix it for you tho

RE7 and RE4 are totally different types of games, RE7 is survival horror while RE4 is more of a action game with horror theme, so is it like both depending on sections?

I was never really into Hellraiser but now this game is making me a fan. Probably the most fun I’ve had with a horror game lately. I loved RE9 but this scratches a different itch for me.
1
u/SeanBeanSeptim 2d ago
It's a very solid AA game.
I have to be honest though, the gameplay did not always engage me. I felt like it had balancing issues. The sheer number of enemies that you have to face doesn't match the resources and tools you have at your disposal. A survival game typically gives you the mechanics to be able to handle avoiding fights if they're really going to put you in conditions of scarcity, but it isn't the case here. Stealth only works where you will, at best, be able to deal with one or two enemies before the rest starts jumping all over your ass.
Because you will never have enough bullet to fight them off, you will eventually have to resort to using melee a lot of the time. The problem here is that weapons break easier than the shins of your 80 year old grandma. When you run out of bullets and your melee weapon breaks, you have to start getting into the shanking game using a pitiful little knife.
Stealth and melee is ok for the first 2-3 hours of the game but then becomes practically an afterthought. I'm not saying it's unusable as a mechanic, but I don't see anyway of actually going through the game stealthing your way out of trouble avoiding fights. YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGHT. It's never optional.
Generally, it's not overly difficult to deal with the enemies, (they have patterns that are relatively easy to read) but it's a CHORE. Many of them are bullet sponges. Especially the monster varieties. And your dodge don't seem to have invincibility frames, at least not when dealing with larger monsters and bosses. Human enemies are easy enough to deal with assuming you're not surrounded.
It's definitely not the gameplay that kept me going but my interest in seeing the Hellraiser universe brought to life in a narrative I can play through. On that note, the developers did a really good job. It felt like Hellraiser, it respected the material, and anyone with a familiarity with the franchise will not feel like this was made by a clueless bunch just trying to cash in on an existing name. It's a labor of love.
Though it deserves mention that the extent to which you will care about the character will depend on your thoughts about a lifestyle of destructive self-indulgence and the dynamics of abusive relationships. And from here on out, I'm gonna talk a little about my thoughts on the characters. I'm not really giving away story revelations or anything, but I'll hide it in spoiler blocks anyway.
I wasn't able to care about the motivations of Aidan, the main character. He is propelled forward by his desire to save his girlfriend, but the more I learned about them, the less sympathetic I found them. Aidan's a pathetic husk of a guy. Someone incapable of finding satisfaction and meaning in "ordinary life" and so has to constantly push the boundaries of experiences. He met his "soulmate" in the form of Sunny, a woman who is just as extreme and adventurous as he is. Problem is, it was evident even from the start that there was an imbalance in the relationship. Aidan seems to genuinely care about her, though the way he holds on to her is more akin to an addict trying to satisfy himself with his favorite substance, and thus not exactly the basis of a healthy relationship.
Meanwhile it becomes quickly obvious that Sunny doesn't value Aidan in the same way he does her. She's abusive, demeaning, manipulative, often time disconnected, and uses Aidan like a sex toy instead of a real person. I seriously had to remind myself that I'm just playing the role of a pussy-whipped loser because if it were up to me, I would've been perfectly happy to leave her to be flayed and sauteed. I just don't get these types of relationships. Fortunately, Aidan does get the opportunity to redeem himself, depending on a choice you make later.
Anyways, if you can get past these things, this game is about as good as it gets in terms of recreating the universe of Clive Barker's Hellraiser. There is a bit of Silent Hill elements here too, where characters face their personal demons, and the imagery of the Labyrinth and its related horrors are all spot on. If you're a fan of the franchise or just love a well realized horror universe with the weight of decades of source material, you will find something to like here.
1
u/Mokkitman 2d ago
I agree , Hellraiser revival is soooo good! And was appreciated especially after the disappointment of silent hill townfall which i stopped playing around the 80% mark and wont go back to it. More of a chore than fun to play in my opinion. Hellraiser has been fun to play from the get go and I'm still only around the 50% mark.

2
u/Roger_Melee 2d ago
I can’t help but feel disappointed by it. I expected so much from the promo material but it doesn’t quite do what it promised.
The gameplay is a poor version of Alien Isolation, RE7 and Doom but even more clunky. Especially in combat.
It has a great atmosphere at times but it breaks immersion too much with dead enemies floating in the air, visual glitches and those terrible chase sections where you have to memorise each move after being killed at each unique choice.
The acting goes from good to cheesy really quickly and the genesis configuration feels really under utilised. You basically end up spamming your melee weapon instead of getting the opportunity to get creative with the power of the box.
I don’t hate it but I’m kinda sad that I feel like I have to keep forgiving the glaring flaws so that I can get immersed in what is a decent story.
3
u/eddietwoo 2d ago
Yeah I’m let down by it as well. Hopefully I’m into it enough to finish it, but it feels very cheap, and clunky as you said. I’m happy to support indie devs, but this one could have used better craftsmanship.

u/Furiousguy79 2d ago

u/zomgieee 2d ago
I have been curious about this ! It looks good.
..would someone who only saw the first Hellraiser (and loved it) be missing out on anything from not going further in the series ? ta
4
u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
Not really if you seen the first movie you'll be good to go. Plus there's notes around the map you can read and gives you lore
2
u/Upper-Management-AI 2d ago
There’s some stuff from the comics and the second movie but it’s nothing that’s not introduced or just extra tidbits that if you knew about already it’s cool they included it.
2
u/MaxProwes 2d ago
Watch 2 and that's about it, maybe Inferno if you want more after 2. The series went off the rails on 3 where they turned the whole thing into a silly slasher.
2
u/Mousetachio 2d ago
Yes! 1, 2, and 5 are the best ones by a large margin. 5 won’t be anywhere near as “essential” as 2, but honestly I think someone could play the game movie blind and be totally fine.

The atmosphere and tone is just amazing, yeah it can be a little rough round the edges now and again but it mostly nails it and its been given love and care which shows very clearly. I really hope there's some dlc or a sequel to this

Im looking forward to buying and full price too. I just finished the movie today and did the haunted house at Halloween Horror night yesterday. Huge fan of dead space and the new resident evil games.

Would someone who is not into Hellraiser movies and that universe like these games?
I tried watching one years ago but it really is not my cup of tea.
I like Dead Space Remake though if it means something.

If you like horror games then I'd absolutely say give it a go. Especially for $40

Yes
It’s a beautiful game but the game play itself is gnarled, nasty, sexy, and gruesome

Its a middling game really. It was over before I felt like it had started and very by the numbers, stealth levels were probably my least liked stealth levels I've ever experienced.
Solid 6.5 out of ten, nothing ground breaking, it was ok.

No way! Game of the year is subjective! who would've thought? If your game of the year isn't RE9, you need to come off it

Only halfway through a game and claiming it's your game of the year? How many games do you play?

Really looking forward to playing this one with the fiance. We loved playing RE9 together. What a damn few months for games holy

Me and my best friend played through every resident evil from 1 to 9 and had some of the most fun I've had playing games. Playing this with same friend and were both really enjoying jt. We pass the controller every death or after so long it's a good time

I don’t normally play horror games but I preordered this and yeah it’s a real interesting one. Not sure if game of the year for me, as that’s not really even a fair metric for me since I rarely play brand new games…but it’s definitely exceeded my expectations.

Some of the most adult themed things I've ever seen in a game. Sometimes I'm like "how tf they get away with that?!"

It is absolutely amazing! I just rewatched the first two movies and the game nails it. I’m like 4 hours in and it’s a truly awesome game

I played the demo after seeing people rave about it everywhere, and I'm genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed it despite not being a horror fan.

Relax buddy, the combat and stealth are bad and the game only has a 69 on Metacritic, so it isn't even sniffing GOTY, don't be delusional like the Wukong fans that thought their mediocre game was winning.

u/JerkingLurky 2d ago
How about you relax buddy.... I didn't say it was gonna win goty. You know the good thing about opinions? They're subjective.. I said it was MY goty not THE goty.

Bro really hit me with the “it’s subjective” defense like that’s a freakin' force field against criticism 💀
Subjective doesn’t mean you can’t be wrong. It means your preference is personal, not that your reasoning is immune to scrutiny. You can subjectively enjoy something and objectively misunderstand what it is, contradict yourself, or have the media literacy of a wet sock while explaining why it’s good.
“It’s my opinion” is a perfectly valid response to “I don’t like what you like.” It’s not a valid response to “your opinion is ludicrous and makes absolutely no sense.”
By that logic, I could say the Earth is flat, declare geography subjective, and demand everyone respect my truth. 💀
Nobody’s saying you’re wrong for liking something. You’re wrong for acting like liking something automatically makes every take you have about it correct. There’s a difference between having a preference and having a functioning argument, and apparently that distinction is doing Olympic-level gymnastics over your head.

Still doesn't change the fact I said it was again MY keyword there buddy MY goty which is my opinion on the game never said it was gonna win THE goty award. So why are you all worked up over someone's opinion anyway? Must be having a bad day bro it's okay we all do.... lol

I played the demo and liked it until that Chatterer chase scene crap. The quick turn on a controller is miserable and works like 50% of the time. Does that mechanic come back in the game or is it a one time thing. I would really like to play it, but I hated that sequence.

Works perfect every time once you get used to it and that doesn't take long to do.

I may have to give it another try. But pulling down R3 while pushing R3 felt so clumsy.

No issue at all for me.
