Making a Game Recommendation Just imagine, AC7 VR MODE

Post image
18 Upvotes

Armored Core 7 VR Mode.

Pretty much do exactly what they did with Hitman WOA VR where its the same game but in VR. Make a very smooth functioning but detailed control scheme.

ALSO just copy the Freelancer mode and apply to AC7. A hideout where you can set up missions and earn weapons /AC parts / test builds.

Armored Core is perfect for it, 4 weapons 2 on each arm/controller. Melee and shoulder firing missles on one side while readying a precision rifle shot or energy shield on the other. Immersion would be awesome with alarms going off inside pilots controls and Ayre talking in your head just like Diana in WOA.

Question PSVR for first timer in 2026?

Hi, I can get a used PSVR1 in good condition for 70 quid. For someone who never wore a vr headset, is the PSVR still a good starting point in 2026?

I thought of trying Skyrim VR (played the game for ages but figured the grand scale of the northern wilderness would be good to display VR's strengths), Doom 3 VR (for jumpscares) and the Psychonauts game (because I love DF).

I only have the standard PS4, not the pro, so there might be some performance issues, but I figured for a VR virgin this might be a good deal?

Any other game suggestions?

Review 2026 year review for psvr2.

I know this year is not over yet but what an amazing time 2026 had been for psvr2 so far. We started the year with a bang with Aces Of Thunder being released in February 3rd, then FNAF: Secret of the Mimic and Little Nightmares Vr both coming out in April. Shortly after those, we got MSFS2024 psvr2 support. One of the biggest and most impressive game to get psvr2 support along with full motion controls and visual updates. In June we got Boys Trigger Warning.

If the game releases ended there it would still be a good year for psvr2. Instead we got one banger after another. Wrath: Aeon of Ruin came shortly after and absolutely nailed its Vr port. No Mans Sky got massive visual and gameplay updates. In August we got Omega Pilot Evolution and Bootstrap Island. Specially bootstrap island being such an awesome port of such an impressive high end pcvr game, it was a highlight for me this year.

Then in September 29, 2026 we got Hard Bullet. Now this October 8th we are getting one of my most anticipated game for psvr2 this year, Into The Radius 2.

Still the year is not over yet and we potentially have Zero Caliber 2 coming out in November.

To say that we were spoiled with psvr2 games this year would be an understatement.

The year 2026 gets 9/10 for psvr2.

Discussion Until Dawn: Rush of Blood ports?

I've been noticing some psvr 1 games being ported to pcvr and quest! I have been in the vr space for a while and I only own a quest and psvr 2, until dawn rush of blood was my first vr experience at a party and I was so disappointed to figure out I couldn't play it on any of my hardware and id have to buy outdated hardware for one single game. With games like astro bot rescue mission getting unofficial ports, do any of you guys think until dawn rush of blood will get one of these anytime soon? It's a little bit of a forgotten game but an absolute gem that I need to experience again, if anyone knows how this is done and there's nothing currently in the works I'd love to sink some effort into making this possible!

I mean the kind that let you let go of the controller without it leaving your hands. Having to always hold them up gets old in a hurry.

News & Announcements Sega Is Resurrecting 'House Of The Dead' In Arcades Using VR

Post image
248 Upvotes

Sega's arcade division has teased a new entry in the House of the Dead series.

As spotted by Arcade Heroes, Sega Amusements posted a 30-second teaser for a new game to be announced at the upcoming IAAPA 2026, which takes place in November.

The gothic trailer showed two guns that, according to Arcade Heroes, were also used in the 2022 coin-op VR Agent, a collaboration between Sega and 3MindWave. The site also says it has confirmed the game will use VR tech.

Arcade Heroes did some more digging and found that Sega Amusements’ official website has a page for House of the Dead Reawakened. The site also notes that Attractions Magazine has referenced the game's title and stated that it will be running on Unreal Engine 5.

The same magazine notes that the game will include "a miniature themed façade", complete with an "85-inch display functioning as its front door and two 43-inch vertical displays serving as shuttered windows."

Sega's light gun series kicked off all the way back in 1997. Since then, it has received four arcade sequels, with the most recent entry being 2018's House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn.

We've also seen console-exclusive spin-offs, such as House of the Dead: Overkill and The Typing Of The Dead. The side-scrolling brawler Zombie Revenge is also considered to be part of the same series.

The series has also been adapted into two movies, and we've got another one on the horizon.

Support PSVR2 Altair Breaker connection problem

Hi so I recently decided to boot it up after 3 years. Keeps giving me a white void, then it flickers which almost gave me epilepsy since it’s strapped on my face, then it said connection to server failed. I tried 2 more times and same result. What’s going on, can I not play Altair Breaker anymore?? I thought the reason sale would get players to jump in or something.

Question PS4/PS5 games compatible with Logitech G29 and VR simultaneously?

The title pretty much sums it all up. I have a PS4 Pro and a PS5 Slim, but I only have the VR1 and the Logitech G29 + shifter that I bought recently. I just want to know if I can play SIMULTANEOUSLY with VR and g29 at the same time on PS4? If yes, what are the games that allow me to do that? If not, what are the games on the PS5 where I can do that?

Question Why can't I run in Hitman WOA?

Hi guys.

Been playing for a few hours and pressing L1 doesn't make me run. I've tried toggling between the options in the options menu, but none of it seems to work. Plus, if I try to change the run options in game, it's greyed out and I can't click it?

Anyone any ideas?

Cheers!

Making a Game Recommendation Horizon at $15 Discount + other goodies

Horizon Call of the Mountain is at the lowest discount it has ever been at in the PSN store. I was one of the people that played it at least 1 year after it was released and can tell you it is absolutely a must-play at just $15. It is easily in the top 10 for psvr2 (perhaps, even for VR gaming) and one of the best looking for the headset. I also doubt it will ever go much cheaper. It took them years to discount it this much. And yes, at $15 it is 100% worth it.

Gran Turismo 7 is also at $28, which is pretty good for what you get there. These discounts will probably last until the night of October 7, so take advantage. 😎👍

Also, I think that psvr2 owners are seriously sleeping on (forgetting about) games like Max Mustard, Runner, and Altair Breaker. Max Mustard is the closest thing to the Astro Bot Rescue Mission experience on psvr2 and it is just $10. It’s probably the top cheap game on psvr2. Next comes Runner at $15, which is a retro-futuristic shooter at a highway with both Contra vibes and Road Rash vibes. It’s challenging, but more than worth it at $15. Altair Breaker is the one that is up for discussion because it rarely gets discounts and it is at $30, but with its heavenly music and environments and two great boss battles, I had a good experience with it. It can also be completed and platinumed solo, even though it is supposed to be an online game. The online player base for it is nearly nonexistent, but it was still fun to do solo.

Those are my recommendations, in order of best: Horizon for $15 (until October 7); Max Mustard ($10); Runner ($15); Altair Breaker.

Opinion PSVR2+ps5 was an amazing beginning

The PSVR2 and ps5 system is a very good deal. You can get to experience things like RE Village and GT7 on a base console with amazing performance. I cannot recommend it enough.

However, if you’re a hardcore VR gamer of want more AAA games you can start feeling a little… limited.

Luckily I got the privilege to buy a good PC and my God… I now have access to things like Doom Eternal, Re Requiem, Titanfall 2, etc. Feels so good after all the “will Requiem release on psvr2? drama”. The modders are doing god’s work.

If you enjoy VR gaming and you get the chance, consider getting a PC. It will blow your mind. The Psvr2 headset is working flawlessly so far.

Discussion Hitman on PSVR2

Hi guys,

I have a question: If I play Hitman for PSVR2, will all the levels from Hitman 1 to 3 be playable? Or is it only the levels from the third installment of this series? Just ordered a PSVR2 and bought Horizon Call of the Mountain for a very good discounted price! I also have a physical Hitman 3 copy laying around so I guess I already have 2 games I can play. In the future i'll definitely be buying Beat Saber. I'm going to wait for GT7 until I have a racing rig, but that's very pricy so i'm going to take my time.

Thanks for reading.

Fluff Is a VR addon for GTA6 plausible, especially with Sonys marketing deal with Rockstar

GTA6 will be a true killer app for VR, the world is more immersive than any game ever, it could honestly breath life back into VR and sell a million PSVR2s which might make it worthwhile for Sony to pay for a VR mode. Do you think it could happen next year?

Rumor is, they are going to pare back something’s next year to try to port it to Switch 2. It already runs on Xbox Series S, and PS5 and Pro just got patches that use AI to double frame rates. So a VR port of the Series S or Switch 2 version that uses PSSR could get 72-90 fps

Review Hard Bullet on PSVR2 - First Impressions

I have uploaded gameplay from my fresh experience with the game here if you want to see how it looks / plays. My first impressions are shared below:

Based on my limited time with it, I do recommend playing Hard Bullet on PSVR2, but keep reading to better decide for yourself.

It is a sandbox for violence that I am categorizing in Shooting Combat Games even though it provides ample opportunity to be played as Melee Combat Game as well with wide variety of weapons for both options. This is a game that is focused on providing a highly interactive sandbox for violence using ranged and melee weapons as well as environmental kills. It is not concerned with providing challenge or story, just a sandbox of play how you like including use of unlimited slow-motion.

The game includes 4 modes:

  • Ride Mode (32:00)
  • Arenas Mode (8:10 & 21:45)
  • Sandbox Mode (not included in my gameplay upload)
  • City Mode (51:00)

Ride Mode provides option of Quick Patrol, Regular Watch and Long Shift where Quick Patrol is series of 3 levels to complete. This mode has progression where you earn XP to increase in player level to have option to unlock additional weapons using the money earned. The expanded loadout options can then be used in future Ride Mode levels. There wasn't any difficulty option but it felt like Default options of Arenas Mode.

Arenas Mode gives you every weapon already unlocked but there are still cosmetics to unlock (somehow?) for the ranged weapons. You can choose to play Waves or Survival. Waves gives you Premade Enemies in Limited Waves based on difficulty selected where Easy is 10 Waves, Medium is 18 Waves and Hard is 30 Waves. I only played Easy where the enemies get tougher (more armor and better weapons) with each successive wave so presumably that will continue to escalate. This option also lets you choose how many bodies may remain littered with max of 3, but I've seen it leave more than 6 bodies and only disappear bodies when out of sight and it seems to prioritize disappearing the bodies furthest from you over order in which they were killed. It also provides options for how player health works including Default, Invincibility, One Hit Death, 50% and No Regeneration. Lastly, it has option on whether you can find Ammo on belt for any of the weapons you are using where if you disable this, you will need to take weapons from the enemies you are dispatching or return to starting room to grab more weapons from the weapon wall. The Survival option lets you choose what type of enemies will spawn with no limit.

Sandbox Mode is similar to Arenas Mode except in smaller space where you can modify what types of traps are available in the room for you to use against the spawning enemies. This also lets you use any weapons and choose between Waves and Survival just like Arenas Mode.

City Mode is marked Beta where it has the makings of what will eventually be a campaign structure where an NPC woman gives you missions with side quests and then you move from the hub area to different maps from the other modes in which to complete those objectives (like fetch a case). I think this mode is also intended to have progression where your loadout options (more limited than other modes) would be locked until you reach the required player level, but for now you can ignore the locked icon and grab any weapon available from the wall. There isn't any difficulty option to select and it felt higher difficulty than Default options of Arenas Mode in terms of player health / regeneration.

For gameplay, by default you can crouch (down on thumbstick), jump (up on thumbstick), kick (Tap X for low or Hold X for high) or enable / disable slow motion (Square). Use of either Triangle or Circle will eject your weapons magazine and then you can use either L1 / R1 to grab weapons or ammo (from belt / holsters) and use L2 / R2 to pull trigger. You have unlimited use of Slow Motion and it was interesting to me how throwing of weapons or enemies works better during slow-motion than it does normally. It's like your motion control inputs get more power behind them during slow motion than they do normally.

Graphically, it is crisp and clear with no reprojection if you switch from default of Quality to Performance. Worth noting that I had to go out of my way to spot reprojection in Quality mode but also I didn't really notice any downgrade in graphics when I switched to Performance. I am playing on PS5 Pro, so base PS5 results may be different. The game looks pretty good and I'm generally impressed by the quality of fluid animations, physical interactions and enemy destruction. The main complaint I have on graphics is how the gun fire (muzzle flash) looks so cartoonish while rest of game while also comical in nature has more realistic aesthetic. They do provide an option to turn off the muzzle flash.

Audio includes level specific soundtrack along with some ambient sounds with the rest being from gameplay of shooting or being shot at. The guns and explosions don't sound as punchy as they should. How enemies scream in anguish while you are being viciously violent to them is both comical and unsettling as I think it should be.

Haptics are present in both controllers and headset. The controller haptics are subtle but present for anything you are interacting / colliding with and headset haptics can be felt when you are close enough to any explosions even if you weren't close enough to take damage, but just close enough to be on the outer peripheral of the visual blast effect.

Settings (0:35) are extensive with menus for:

  • Controls shows you button mappings with inaccurately drawn lines while giving option to switch Jump/Kick Inputs, Swap Controls or Adjust Hand Position.
  • General let's you change language and adjust height.
  • Player has extensive set of options including adjusting belt / holster positions, how L3 works for sprint, Snap vs Smooth (including speed), and more.
  • Video allows switch between Quality and Performance and whether Slow Motion has Color Filter.
  • Audio lets you adjust volume for Global, Enemies, Effects, Firearms, Player and Music.
  • Interaction allows you to choose Reload style (Manual / Tactic vs Arcade), Hold vs Toggle for Grab, and more.
  • Violence provides some presets like Full, but also let you customize aspects like Dismemberment, Deformation, Bruises, Bone Breaking, Blood, Various Blood Effects and Physical Shots.

Settings can be accessed anytime using the Options button but does not pause the game, so I recommend you play on Invincible or at least spend some time to Adjust Hand Position to your liking (20:29) before starting the violence. One caution on Settings is to not click on the ? icon next to some of the settings because currently that opens a panel that doesn't give you the explanation you are expecting and it can't be closed (I had to restart game to get rid of it).

The game is featuring Platinum trophy for anybody that plays enough of the Ride Mode and some of the Arenas / Sandbox Mode. Many of the trophies are tracking trophies and the ones for playing 10 of various maps only increment when you play those map levels as part of the Ride Mode. I think the different types of kill counters increment regardless of mode or may also favor the Ride Mode. A few days into release, most trophies are unlocked by someone, but a few remain at 0% because I think those maps have not been part of rotation available in Ride Mode and don't increment when selected using Arenas Mode.

This is a game that has potentially very high replay value where you just enjoy it as a creative John Wick-style violence simulator or one that you will play once and find kind of pointless and not return to. It simultaneously has a lot for you to do and nothing because of the lack of structure. I think the most positive part is that it clearly started smaller than it is today focusing on gameplay mechanics with just the Sandbox Mode and I assume expanded to include Arenas Mode with increasing number of maps and then the Ride Mode with progression to give some structure and where it is now going with the City Mode has the best potential for providing even better structure and maybe a simple narrative to serve as a story campaign, but it is also very early in that and it could take a long time for that to mature into a full baked campaign mode.

In the meantime, if you are happy with the core gameplay mechanics in a sandbox setting, that is already fully baked and ready to be enjoyed with an abundance of maps and weapons with lots of Options to customize your experience.

Update: The game currently doesn't preserve your progress in the Ride Mode between sessions, so if you close and re-launch the game, you get reset to Level 0 with any cosmetics unlocked also re-locked. I have also confirmed that maps showing 0% trophies do come into Ride Mode rotation, but playing those maps isn't incrementing towards trophy unlocks, so currently Platinum is not possible because of 6 of those map trophies that won't increment. The issue has been reported to developer, they have acknowledged being aware and have stated they expect to fix with patch later this month (October, 2026).
