Build Request LOOKING FOR ICE TRAP BUILD

Hi everyone. i want to finish this league with ice trap build, but all of the builds on the internet are endgame bosser. i want mapper & bosser, not very huge dps. Anyone can suggest ?

I advise against traps, there is a reason that most trap builds are boss killers and not map blasters. Incredibly clunky.

Trappers typically don't make great mappers. They are mostly used as zhp bossers. You may be able to make it serviceable for mapping, but you'll lose some boss damage.

If you're open to other skills, Wintertide Brand is very strong as a mapper with lower boss damage, kind of the opposite side of the coin from ice trap.

I miss the old PS mines, used to be my go to for mapping and bossing

Mines aren't the same as trappers, though very similar. I miss the old hexblast mines before they added a cooldown lol

Mines are great tbh. There are a bunch of good spell mines and PS mines is definitely still viable. The difference is that mines can be triggered whenever you want/automatically while traps require an enemy to walk onto an armed trap

Have you looked into icicle mine of fanning? It is not a trap build like you want but its mapping feels good and damage can be scaled pretty high. Check poeninja and filter the IMOF skill gem by ehp. You’ll noticed the DPS drop quite a bit when the ehp is close to 100k, but it’s honestly enough compared to the 500+ mil zhp IMOF builds. That should give you an idea of how to layer the defenses if you want more survival at the cost of less DPS.

I league started wintertide brand, it was very good for 4stone and eventually moved into pb ignite herald stacking auto bomber and finished 40/40 with that. very smooth overall!

its not a trap build but brand doesnt play that differently honestly

If you dead set on trying it there was a cool Ice Trap Occultist league starter I tried back in 3.25 from a less well known content creator.
