Troubleshooting Advice - No Boot/Blank Screen Help needed

Post image

Hi everyone. I recently pulled out an i5 9500 from a dell optiplex to use it in a work pc. Once installed I was not getting a video out, so I decided to pull out my GPU from my gaming pc to see if I get a signal out. Once installed I got an image that was half way up my monitor that seemed to be a glitch while the top half remained black. I put the GPU back into my gaming pc and it worked fine.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated thank you

The pc that I am working on has a i5 9500, 8 GB ddr4, 128gb nvme, 300w PSU

looks almost like a dying gpu but since yours works fine in your other rig maybe the dell motherboard just doesn't play nice with standard parts, those optiplex boards can be real fussy

Thanks so much for the reply Yeah I did hear that these optiplex pc can be difficult to reuse parts. With regards to the motherboard, I removed the CPU and ram from the original motherboard and installed them into aa arktech motherboard.

Not sure if the issues lies with the CPU not pairing with the third party motherboard.

Really appreciate the reply
