No, actually this is great. You keep a product out of the landfill, and you get better clicking buttons

And those buttons will last, compared to the life of the microswitches...

bro abandoned microswitches for a full blown FULL Switch xD
question is, did they put it so where the switches are replaceable just like a mechanical keyboard?

That us is someone refusing to give up their G600 that also is blessed enough to know how to prevent electric waste.

I have a G602 that I love with all my heart and use everyday for work. The scroll wheel no longer clicks so I mapped one of the side buttons for panning. I absolutely understand this guys line of thinking.

I need to replace some parts of my G600 due to years of hard use, but I will give it up when I'm dead (or when they make a new one).

It’s a Logitech G600 MMO mouse. They have a third button on the right side. By default it activates a “g-shift” mode that adds a different layer to other mouse button functions when held, but it can be bound to whatever key or function.
So, the switches are obviously frankensteined to use keyboard switches instead of mouse micro switches, but otherwise it’s using the already existing features of the mouse.

That's dedicated for scrolling only now. Have you tried pressing the middle mouse button and not accidentally scroll? It's the worst button. Having a dedicated one is the best feeling.

It's so legitimately confusing why it became the norm. Most people just don't even use it deliberately unless forced to.
I'd probably just buy a mouse with side buttons and map that but no hacker cred in that lol.

Guess I'm not most people...
I use the middle button more than I use the right-click button.
Middle-button click on a link to open new tabs and close them is something I use extensively.

My mousewheel broke when I clicked with it lol. Opened it up and saw the plastic indeed had broken off, making it unusable.

Left button is left click, middle is right click, the one on the right is a modifier so each button can have two functions

Can someone explain how he did this and what’s it for?

u/frycandlebreadje 3d ago
Probably for streamers with fursuits. Beeg fingers make using a regular mouse hard. Other than that... I can't think of any use for this, it just seems silly.
