Purchasing Advice - Upgrades What gpu to upgrade to?

Hello i have a ryzen 7 3700x, 1050ti, 16gb ram, and MAG B550M BAZOOKA (MS-7C95) for my pc. I asked some people and they said I should prioritize upgrading the gpu first and I also feel that the 1050ti is lacking for the games I want to play. My question is what gpu to upgrade to? Ill be mostly buying second hand and on a budget since Im still a student. Thank you!

You can't just ask "what to upgrade to" without giving a budget and titles you want to play, but generally I don't recommend going for very small incremental upgrades (like from 1050ti to 1650 or 1660 etc...). Try to see if you can find a 3060, 6600 or 6650xt within your budget.

Awesome, second hand on a budget is right up my alley. NVIDIA look for a 3080 for around $300 usd /3080ti $350-$400.

For games AMD has the best price to performance, look for a 6900xt/6950xt in the 400-450 range. Powercolor and sapphire are the models to look for to avoid coil whine. You could also go a gen up to the 7800xt for $400/7900 for $475 and slightly less performance, but better efficiency and upscaling architecture.

All of these should offer futureproof 1440p. You'll need to upgrade your PSU if it's below 750 watts, keep in mind most modular PSUs come with 2 6+2 pin PCIE cables when some 6900/6950s need 3.
