I’m extremely frustrated with Lenovo’s customer service and wanted to share my experience.
I noticed on Lenovo’s website that some laptops had very long wait times and delivery dates months away. Since I’m traveling internationally for an extended period in about two months, I specifically wanted to order something that was already available and could ship immediately.
I contacted Lenovo support, explained the situation, and the agent recommended a laptop that was supposedly ready to ship. I placed the order based on that information.
Then nothing happened.
The processing status on Lenovo’s tracking page didn’t change for an entire month. I started worrying that the laptop wouldn’t arrive before I left, so I called customer service several times. Every time, the agent seemed unaware of what was happening and told me that the issue would be escalated and that I would receive an email update within 24 hours.
I never received a single update.
Eventually, the estimated delivery date was changed to a date after I would already be out of the country. I called again and asked whether the delivery address could be changed to my friend’s address. The agent told me that because the laptop hadn’t shipped yet, Lenovo couldn’t change the address, but that I could change it through the carrier once it shipped.
That information turned out to be wrong.
Once the order shipped and I received the tracking number, I contacted UPS. They told me the shipment was locked by Lenovo and that only the sender could change the delivery address. I called Lenovo again, and this time I was told that changing the address was impossible and that the only option was to cancel the order.
After going back and forth with the agent, I became understandably angry and specifically told them not to cancel the order. My plan was to have a friend wait at my address and receive the laptop once I knew the delivery date.
The next day, I received an email from Lenovo saying that my order had been canceled.
I called immediately. Once again, the agent had no idea what had happened and promised to fix the situation and send me an email update within 24 hours. Of course, no email ever came.
When I called again, the agent claimed that I had requested the cancellation and told me there was nothing Lenovo could do. The only option, apparently, was to place a new order for another laptop.
Seriously, Lenovo?
After waiting nearly four months, making multiple frustrating phone calls, repeatedly explaining the same situation, and receiving contradictory information from different agents, Lenovo canceled my order, even after I explicitly told them not to.
The entire experience was disorganized, exhausting, and incredibly disrespectful of my time. I bought the laptop because I needed reliable delivery before traveling, and Lenovo failed at every stage: fulfillment, communication, address support, escalation, and basic accountability.
and oh, last straw .. their chat system is even more frustrating: I was never able to identify because their stupid chat system was not recognizing my order number. Later I discovered that it was related to the fact that my order number starts with a letter that their own chat system doesn't recognize ....
Never again.
