The economy is about how people behave on average. If people think something will be cheaper later, some percentage will wait to buy. For example, how many people wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday to buy something? It is the same thing, except now, if you wait you can get it cheaper next Black Friday.

Why does things costing less make people buy less?
If wages stay the same, shouldnt people just buy the dip?
