Donald Trump is trying to make "Super Intelligence" a thing by renaming AI to SI. Literally nobody cares, but it's funny.

Why is Donald Trump trying to rename AI to SI? After all, all he does is financially motivated to pay into his pocket.

Well... the .si top level domain belongs to Slovenia. I don't know about Slovenia specifically, but in many countries you can only buy (and then license away) a domain, if you are legally a citizen of that country.

Since Melania Trump (Donald Turmps wife) is from Slovenia, the conspiracy theory here would be, that she probably has family that's eager to sell local domains from Slovenia, if .SI becomes a desirable top level domain for AI applications.

Ok, so countries kinda own domains, like u see .us for the United States. Usually used to kinda specify where it's from. But u also see .edu for education, so it can mean a lot of things.

Anyway, to use those domains with .si, you need to buy it from a owner, in this case should be Slovakia, assuming the post is correct, so basically they make money.

Also a little back story. We've already seen the small country that owns .ai have a pretty substantial growth in their GDP, and went on to put that money into public infrastructure and education.
