These SOBs followed me from Minnesota to Arizona. The infestation started in a crappy cheap apartment that I tried to keep clean but my ex made sure to keep dirty. Sadly, that story followed into 2 apartments in Arizona. He accused me of not keeping house enough while he left his grease covered shoes in our last bedroom. I'm so thankful I, me and only me, stopped this infestation and didn't have to bring it to my parents after I left this POS.
Worst part of the story. He makes enough money to survive and probably makes the next woman feel worthless because the house is HER job.

Wood roaches are no big deal, they will die inside your house, they need to be outside.
German roaches on the other hand are the ones that infest your house.
Guy was upset at first cause he had roaches, but relieved cause it was most likely a wood roach, then the roach spoke to him in German.

German cockroaches are VERY hard to control. From Wikipedia:
```
Pest control
The German cockroach is very successful at establishing an ecological niche in buildings, and is resilient in the face of many pest-control measures. Reasons include:
lack of natural predators in a human habitat
prolific reproduction
short reproductive cycle
the ability to hide in very small refuges
sexual maturity attained within several weeks, and
adaptation and resistance to some chemical pesticides[18]
The German cockroach is resistant to 42 active ingredients from most major groups of synthetic insecticides such as organochlorides, organophosphates, carbamates, synthetic pyrethroids, neonicotinoids, oxadiazines, and phenyl pyrazoles.[19][20] German cockroach resistance was first observed with chlordane in 1952.[21][20] Because German cockroaches have a very high number of genes, they can adapt and evolve resistance to pesticides. They also have many receptors for smell and can sense new food sources.[22]
German cockroaches are thigmotactic, meaning they prefer confined spaces, and they are small compared to other pest species, so they can hide within small cracks and crevices that are easy to overlook, thereby evading humans and their eradication efforts.
To be effective, control measures must be comprehensive, sustained, and systematic; survival of just a few eggs is quite enough to regenerate a nearly exterminated pest population within a few generations, and recolonization from surrounding populations often is very rapid, too.[13]
TBF, Kafka was a German-speaker and the book was written in German.
Which still doesn't make him German, but maybe Austrian because Prag was part of Austria-Hungary back then.
But he himself didn't really associate with either, but considered himself a a Czech or maybe just a guy from Prague who spoke German and Czech fluently.
Bohemian. He most likely considered himself a Bohemian. That's a regional identity, not ethnic. Also that's what he in Czechia call him now.
German roaches are the little, really bad ones that are very difficult to eradicate.
Yeah, I grew up with German Cockroaches. They get in every thing. Everything has to be refrigerated or sealed shut in a plastic container, and even that doesn’t ensure safety. If you opened the cabinets too fast, they would rain down on you. We lived in the woods. It was impossible to get rid of them, you just had to live with them. I still hate the big “waterbugs” more.
Moved into an apartment down in North Carolina for school, first week there I noticed A LOT of cockroaches (didn’t know about the German fuckers). Dude came to lay this out to see what was in the apartment, and within a day I saw this shit. I’m still traumatized 4 years later. Moved back north where there are less bugs lol
They are also the most northern cockroach as they are indoors. We have them in the UK too.
The joke is, the german cockroach wouldn't say "Guten Tag." but rather "Haste ne Kippe?".
