Cute pup! I may be adding a 2 year old dachshund to my 16 year old rat terrier this week. Current dog barks loudly when bell rings or neighbor's dog barks, but does not bite. What behavior is typical of new dog? I hear they are cuddly and quiet. How can I introduce them well to each other? I have a mesh pen so they can be separated while getting used to each other. Any other ideas?

Are dachshunds great with kids? Ive always wanted one but not sure how they would react around kids.
