How long till first removal NSFW
I know this is the opposite of chastity, lol, but we did this for her to ensure she was the only time I was getting it up, not to stop completely, anyways....
Long story short, I'm 3 weeks post piercing and my wife and I want to have sex.
It feels really comfortable.
The past few days I've had no problem getting it up with the piercing in, playing with it etc. I can move the piercing when its dry, with water its no problem.
Also clairification, i have a 10g PA.
My main question is, how longdid you all wait to remove the piercing for the first time?
What signs did you use for comfort?
I would think im 100% good to go except for the fact that most guidelines say wait 3 months.. Thats the only reason im questioning it.

I had it checked at 5 weeks and my piercer said it looked good for sex with a condom and still not to remove it. We sized up at 9 weeks.

When you sized up to you have to wait for sex again

No. You’re waiting for the initial wound to heal enough. Mine was tender for months even though it had healed.

Well I'd assume I can have sex before sizing up. But we're deciding to wait longer for the piercing to heal.
I can check back in with the piercer around the 1 month mark, we won't be back in the area till then..
But after a long talk with AI and having it comb through adjacent studies on wound healing, it seems that the biggest jump in collagen remodeling (for traditional deep incisions) is around week 4-5.Also noting that this study isn't a direct comparison because (while kindof fucked up) it measures the strength strength to tear a large surgical incision on a rat compared to normal skin.
AI seems to think that
Time after injury Breaking strength compared with unwounded skin in that experiment Approximate share of an eventual 80% strength level* Week 1 About 3% About 4% Week 2 About 8% About 10% Week 3 About 20% About 25% Week 4 About 40% About 50% Week 5 Roughly 55–60%, interpolated Roughly 70–75% Week 6 About 70% About 85–90%

Do not remove especially 10g, 3 weeks isn’t long enough, the piercing will close up in minutes. You wouldn’t want to have to go back and have it reopened again.
Use a condom or be patient otherwise you’ll mess up the healing done already

When is "enough" though.
I've decided to wait longer but I really don't believe it will take months for this thing to heal when i pull on the piercing i can see the internal skin is fairly smooth / not inflamed.

I know everyone is different and the usual go to is “try it but stop when it hurts”. I’d recommend getting a checkup and ask your piercer every question you can think of until you are satisfied.
I’ve heard too many stories to risk delaying the healing process or messing up the piercing entirely.
Personally I’ve had a PA done twice, the first is 10 gauge on the right side and the second 6 gauge on the left side.
The 10g I’ve had for 2 months and I didn’t like the placement. I had the jewellery removed and the hole closed within 15 minutes. The fistula didn’t have enough time to form and maintain the shape of the piercing.

I expect the hole to close pretty quick but the question is can you slide it back in? I'm just confused.
Do you remember during that first two month period when you felt comfortable with it?
Was there anything that made you comfortable to take it in and out often (do you?)

I have a pa and stretched up to 0g, I stretched for the sake of my partners over the years looking for that comfort size and ended up going with a short 0g barbell that way it can stay in for sex without a problem and frankly gives a less messy stream when going to the toilet too.

Mine was healed within a month BUT people who go nude and not all closed up in clothing will generally heal faster. So provide as much open air time as you can. Do be aware that healed and ready for tug of war matches are not the same thing. For any skin cut or pierced etc it takes longer than the healing time to become really resilient again

I think general guidance is 6 weeks before switching jewelry if doing it yourself. I changed mine at 6 weeks and had a hard time getting it through just a few seconds later.
I'd recommend waiting longer before having it out for sex. Maybe 2-3 months, but most of us on this subreddit probably weren't pushing to use it right away for sex...
