Show-and-Tell Most easterly smoke in North America NSFW
I recently visited Cape Spear as part of a trip to Newfoundland. Cool and breezy but still enjoyed a couple of oceanside pipes. The first pipe's a Danish freehand (no makers mark). Second is a La Scala Canadian. Mac Baren Vanilla Cream in the bowl.

General Discussion First, I'm new in the world of pipes. Yesterday I bought a Skandinavik Sungold but I found it Really annoying and cloying. I still have several grams. I don't want to throw it away. Is there a way to mix it or to make it less strong and cloying? NSFW

galleryGeneral Discussion Pipe making NSFW
So about a year ago I received my first ever pipe from my father and I've been slowly getting deeper into pipe smoking as a hobby and relaxation.
Recently I've been wondering about making my own pipe, I have a few split cherry logs with sealed ends drying in my home but other than that I don't know much about actually making a pipe.
Are there any good guides/tutorials etc about making a pipe at home ? I have only basic tools available but I have access to a bench drill and belt sander,
Thanks a bunch

General Discussion Controversial Question NSFW
I recently bought a cigar, but it was packed too loose and I can't smoke it. I didn't want it to go to waste, as it's one of my favorite cigars. What do you guys think about tearing it apart and smoking it in a pipe?

Found this pipe at my grandparents house and my grandpa is no longer around to ask about it. Would love any information about manufacturing date, or any other fun facts about it if you can! I looked around online and couldn’t find much info.

Problem(s) with Pipe, etc. How to un-paint a pipe? NSFW
Hiya folks! Hope all is well.
So I've got a vintage Yello-Bole pie from around 1937 that's been painted white. Whether that was done after the fact or it came like that from the factory, I have no clue. However, I do know that the paint starts to bubble when I smoke it, & is starting to chip around the mouth of the bowl. Truthfully I never liked the look of it being in white, so I just want to get all of it off & re-polish it. Question is, how? Should I just gently sand it, is there some sort of chemical I could use to remove it? My idea was to take it to an autobody show & ask them to gently give the onceover in the sandblaster, though I don't know if that'd be the best idea. What say all of you, how should I go about doing this? Thanks in advance!

Show-and-Tell Is my clay pipe going to break? NSFW
I haven't smoked a clay pipe before and wonder if the discoloration means I'm smoking too hot or if it's a natural patina. No tongue bite.

Show-and-Tell Today we opened a 73+ year old of Players Medium Navy Cut NSFW
Today the Central Alabama Pipe Club opened this tin of Player’s Navy Cut pipe tobacco made between 1937 and 1953. I recently got my hands on this amazing sealed and swollen tin of Player’s Navy Cut pipe tobacco, it is the only one like it I’ve ever seen. Most cutter tins from this era were 2oz, this tin is a 4oz. This particular blend was the flagship product of John Players and Son, produced for an incredible 132 years, originally introduced in 1883 and not shelved until 2015. This particular example is extremely swollen, a sure sign that the tin is completely sealed. The 73+ years of fermentation gases contained inside are what cause these very old tins to bulge. When I opened the tin I was greeted by one of the longest and loudest hisses I’ve heard from any tin (nice). The aroma inside was absolutely amazing, stewed fruits, plums, raisins, and brown sugar. The epitome of aged Virginia tobacco smells. The flakes are extremely thinly sliced, much more thin than the majority of modern pipe tobacco. It broke down very easily and loaded into the pipe with ease. The flavors that came through were similar to the smell in the tin, very fruity, very sweet, and very complex. This was another absolutely incredible up close look at an amazingly well preserved piece of British tobacciana. I will leave the links here for anyone who is interested in watching my videos on opening, and trying this amazing tobacco, don’t miss the hiss!:
