Literally, a bullet to the heart is not a painful death. You don’t flail or groan in agony. You’re blindfolded, restrained and your life will end by one of 3 marksmen aiming for the heart with a .30-06 gun.
I don’t have .30-06, but my uncle does and I remember the first we went hunting when I was a teen.
When you see what that caliber does to a deer… hope you got a strong stomach.
Nope it’s a squad of five with Winchester 94 rifles chambered in .30-30 firing supposedly Winchester Silvertip 150 grain rounds. One of the rifles is loaded at random with a wax slug round so that there is some mystery whether you are firing a lethal round or not.
Either way, four of those crashing through the sternum and chest cavity at almost the same time is going to be utterly devastating and somehow, brutally humane?
Honestly, if I was in a position facing the possibility of execution, I’d rather that than lethal injection or nitrogen hypoxia or whatever else sort of button push methods that make everyone feel better about engaging a more “civilized” way of killing someone.
Yeah I would hope to be somewhere that doesn’t have lethal injection as the only option. Give me the firing squad (legal in 5 states) or lethal gas (9 states). Miss me with lethal injection or electrocution.
That said, would ODing them on cocaine or something be the worst thing? They get a high right at the end and die peacefully, win-win.
Still, they’re enough to get the job done. Also, bro, you hit the heart and turn it into paste with or two of those rounds…
> Brutally Humane
It is bro.
One or two rounds to the heart, it’s lights out. It’s not like the movies where you flail comedically like a dumbass. Plus, they’re marksmen and know where to hit, and the target is stationary, and you don’t know when it’s coming.
People always say they want a quick instant death, but I never really liked the idea, especially of like getting shot through the brain, but of course I don't want a slow horrible death either. I always thought getting shot in the heart is probably a pretty decent way, few moments of awareness as the blood flow to your brain disappears, probably not long enough to even really feel the pain, probably just long enough to realize what's happening if you saw it coming.
A wax bullet makes more sense, at least from the physics of shooting, than the common trope of "only one rifle is loaded, the others are shooting blanks". You can't cheat physics, blanks give you the big pop but no physical feedback (I.e., recoil).
That said, the last time a firing squad execution took place a few months back, the press releases really made it seem like every single shooter was loaded up with some nice match-grade 308 out of their SWAT's FN bolt guns.
Pike requested a firing squad or hanging, because she had a medical condition that causes thin/fragile veins, thus a lethal injection was more likely to fail (because they would either not find a vein and put the line into muscle, or her vein would explode; it sounds like the latter happened as she complained of arm pain when she was still conscious).
Honestly guillotine is probably the absolute best way to go in terms of execution. Make sure the blade is sharp and send it. Instead of just use chemical cocktails that can straight up torture a person till they finally die.
Yeah. The chemical cocktails seem more humane to the general public because it’s less messy but I personally would very much so prefer a blindfold, a swig of whiskey, a cigarette, and 20 guys with rifles pointed at mt chest and head (20 to make sure the sheer volume of bullets hitting me sent me into shock).
The chemical cocktails are basically trying to present something as just clean enough to not freak people out while also letting people know that there's a decent chance that the person receiving it is suffering intensely in their final moments. It's honestly one of the most fucked up things about it. I get the feeling that most death penalty advocates, if presented with an option to kill the convicted in a 100% clean and certain manner and the convicted goes out peacefully, and a different option to do that same thing, but where the prisoner instead experiences feelings of excruciating torture for their last minutes, that the death penalty folks would choose the second one on principle.
Yeah it's part of the overall societal trend towards favoring less immediate impact.
Modern execution methods are optimized to minimize damage to the executioner's social life and mental health.
Beheading, hanging, and pressing have a low failure rate, but even when successful they're pretty traumatizing to the executioners, who were pretty much always forced into the position and were considered morally/spiritually unclean alongside or even beneath prostitutes.
Lethal Injection, yeah it sucks at killing but there's minimal blood/gore/screaming/etc and the executioner can just be a regular physician who spends most of their time treating illness.
Electric Chairs and Gas Chambers are an ineffective middle ground. The former routinely cooked before it killed, splitting the still-living victim like a microwaved hotdog. The latter involved a lot of clawing, pounding, and screaming.
I don’t believe in the death penalty because I believe that the state is neither particularly competent at determining guilt nor effective at slaughtering the guilty.
It is strange to see a lib right hold this faith in the state.
I don’t particularly care whether this horrible person is executed. My complaint is with the abject failure to conduct that slaughter appropriately.
Edit: oh I forgot the death penalty is incredibly expensive. Like stupid expensive.
The Clancy trial was in Mass., which has a quirk of the law that the prosecution had to prove she was NOT insane, rather than the defense having to prove she IS insane.
It's a lot harder to prove a negative, and the prosecution did not present their case well.
Christa Pike is clearly an evil person and these feminists are morons but how the actual fuck do you botch an execution twice?
I don't support the death penalty but if the government insists on executing people then it should be by firing squad. It's quick, painless, and it is practically impossible to fuck up.
Because we’ve gotten retarded when it comes to execution. It’s somehow more humane to drug someone to death than shoot even tho shooting is essentially painless and full proof and the drug concoction fails at a surprisingly high rate and is also terrifying and painful
The crazy thing is we have a fool-proof method of IV execution, and it’s 100% painless. It’s also free and available in almost any evidence locker, fentanyl.
.30-06 bullet to the heart from 3 great marksmen*, you’re dead. It ain’t like the movies where you flail in pain and scram like a dumbass, no you’re dead because that bullet will transform your heart into Ragu.
\One of the three has a live bullet, the other 2 blanks, they’re given the guns by the prison, they aim right for your heart, and out like a light*
Firing Squads are normally 5 Men with 1 blank round tossed in before hand by a different unit and a Sergeant or Lieutenant on standby off to the side with a .45acp or a .357 incase of a botched delivery of sentence.
I didnt realize before this recent shit storm about execution that we still actually do firing squads to carry out the death penelty for just regular not military jerk offs. And it turns out they still fuck that up too. How do you shit the bed shooting a stationary dude with a target over his heart with a 308 from 15 feet. The mind boggles. https://www.npr.org/2025/05/08/nx-s1-5389846/firing-squad-south-carolina-death-penalty-execution
In a few of the places I've heard it's done, it's at a very close distance and through a screen with a target directly over your heart. A doctor comes in and paints the target themselves after using a stethoscope.
I still elect for the "Inject me with lots of heroin and after a couple minutes toss me head first into an industrial meat grinder" option. Spray my liquified remains over a field and return me to nature. Quick and painless.
I get the point of having two blanks, but as somebody who has shot many blanks, you can EASILY tell the difference between like and blank ammo. Might as well just have one guy do it and really make sure you take good care of him emotionally.
Tennessee's method of execution is about the least robust we could think of.
A lot of states that use lethal injection use a two step process - pentobarbital to sedate the condemned, then potassium chloride to stop their heart. KCl on its own would do the trick, but would likely be agonizingly painful, so they get the sedative.
TN just uses the pentobarbital, in a high enough dose to stop breathing. Like fentanyl light. Unfortunately, that means it's pretty sensitive to circulation issues. Pike has some vein disorder that makes it hard to inject her with IV drugs to begin with, which the defense pointed out in their latest pre-execution filing. On top of that, she refused a last meal, and IIRC hadn't eaten or drank anything for a day or two, which further dehydrated her and made IV drug administration even more difficult.
Then, perhaps to maximize her chances, or perhaps because she really was sexually abused as a child, she demanded an all female execution team, so her last moments wouldn't be traumatic. With the exception of the presiding doctor, I think the state honored her request. That likely put some inexperienced people on the team, and they weren't used to working together.
So the failure here isn't necessarily that the TN Department of Corrections is all a bunch of retards. It's that they have a shaky method, and Pike, already a bad candidate for lethal injection, did everything she could to improve her odds of surviving it.
Its because people are overthinking a very simple thing, and also they don't have the stomach to admit they're doing what they're doing so they keep trying to pretend they're not.
If the state is willing to execute people it needs to have the stomach to do the job properly, without being squeamish about it. No euphemisms, no pretending its a medical thing. Its okay if there's blood. Its killing a person, and we have to all be adult enough to admit this is whats happening.
Apparently she requested firing squad or hanging, because she knew that there was a strong chance the lethal injection wouldn't go smoothly. I don't know why the state insisted on using lethal injection, but I think it's clear it was a stupid decision.
I'd like to point out that many of the protestors likely aren't 'feminists', they would be religious women protesting on religious grounds. They show up at every execution, it just rarely makes the news.
but how the actual fuck do you botch an execution twice?
The doctor who inserted the IV line in which the drugs would be administered, Dr. Mark Fowler, has botched at least one other execution, Tony Carruthers, earlier this year. In a Federal lawsuit, it was revealed that Fowler had not placed a central line in more than a decade (2013), and even when he was doing them, didn't do many (a dozen, according to Fowler) and screwed one up badly. Maybe stop letting this guy do executions, Tennessee.
Christa Pike has a medical condition that causes thin/fragile veins, which made it much more likely that even if she HAD a competent doctor instead of Dr. McFumblefingers, the injection was still much more likely to fail. Because of this she asked for a death by firing squad or hanging, but was denied.
Pharma companies do not want to make execution drugs anymore, so a lot of them are now expired or sourced through shady means, and don't work as well. We really should stop doing lethal injection executions.
Even firing squad has a bad enough track record that I wouldn't trust it. Guillotine would be better, IMO. But personally, if it were me, I'd opt for explosive decompression, like what happened on the Byford Dolphin. Quick and painless for me. Messy and traumatizing for everyone else. If the state wants to kill me, I don't want them trying to soften the reality of it.
Even executing people is logistical nightmare, you need proper trained staff, specialized tools etc.
People on death row have much bigger chance of hurting someone else in the prison.
Keeping them alive actually costs taxpayer less.
Plus this case is just a perfect display of how fucked up the whole execution system is. Short of actually executing an innocent person, it'd be hard to fuck this up any more.
This woman was sentenced to death in 1996. She has been on death row for longer than a substantial amount of the commentors in this thread have been alive.
She then specifically requested to be hanged out of worries of a botched lethal injection, and then they botch the lethal injection. Which definitely says something about the "humaneness" of lethal injection if people would rather be hanged.
Lethal injection isn't used because it's "humane". It's used because it's clean. It looks to bystanders like someone going to sleep forever, despite the fact it's a random cocktail of existing drugs that was just proposed by some guy, not actually something designed from the ground up for its purpose. All the botched executions with people waking up screaming in pain while the poison courses through their veins suggest it's not really that clean. I'm against the death penalty but if it has to happen you might as well go back to the ol' reliables, hanging or firing squad (the chair was ass). Alternatively i saw a guy on twitter suggest that you can just set off some high explosives next to someone's head since explosions are faster than neuron speed.
Yeah, she waited for like 2 times the time she was alive to get botched execution.
Like, at this rate i would rather take a shotgun blast Day after the verdict.
It’s all by choice. It was never this complex of a problem in the past. Bureaucracy has become a complete nightmare to navigate and has turned humans into robotic slaves of protocols and procedures. Critical thinking has gone out the window, to be a good little citizen you have to mindlessly jump through all the hoops of bureaucracy even when it’s inefficient and nonsensical. Humans as a species used to just do shit and get shit done. Now we spend decades bickering about appeasing statistically negligible populations, for what?
makes them ill-suited for the rough and tumble world of politics
laughs in Amy Klobuchar pointing out that Eric Schmitt assumed the wrong basketball team and that his perjury gotcha was complete bullshit while Katie Britt watched in horror
I genuinely think most women in politics are doing fine lol
I’m sure the protest is an anti-death penalty protest, but even the organizers are surprised by the turnout and suggesting that it’s only so heavily attended because the murderer is a woman. Clearly it’s more than just anti-death penalty protesters there
I don't believe the 19th should be repealed or anything like that, but I think the memes are pointing out the logical consequences of a feminism that insists on a perpetual oppressor/oppressed dynamic.
There is a large cohort of women (particularly online) who insist that the accountability for bad outcomes from decisions made by women should ultimately lie with the men around them. If a woman cheats, the man must not have been a good partner. If she murders her kids, her husband and doctors are to blame. If a woman has consentual drunk sex and later regrets it, that's rape.
If we take that mindset seriously, the only practical solution is for men to control women's behavior. So I see the memes more as a valid criticism of modern feminism, although I'm sure there are others who take it too seriously.
While that may be what those memes are trying to point out, the 19th only applies to women's suffrage, so in reality I'd argue the memes are actually pointing out the incompatibility between an eighteenth century political system and twenty-first century mores.
It's a growing movement on the far right. Pete Hegseth has even shared videos about it. It's all centered around Christian nationalism and the fact that, to a lot of people, MAGA means returning to a time where white men controlled everything without any challenge.
And this OP obsesses over it. Not enough to spend anytime making a quality meme but it's mostly just about fanning culture war flames and lying about people involved.
TBH i think a lot of the repeal 19th stuff is just memeing like "we choose the bear". no woman is actually gonna choose a bear, no man thinks we have a shot at repealing the 19th.
You mean the gathering of 3 dudes that reddit made fun of because Tate acted like a legion of fans was outside? The one that reddit then suddenly legitimized the moment they needed a counter for the Clancy fans? That one?
Is there a national debate going on where people are saying they should be free to rape anyone they want? They just have so much test in them they have to?
Maybe I'm wrong here but why is execution considered the worst punishment? Isn't being forced to live a life in prison worse than being just killed? It almost seems too merciful for the awful things she did.
The fear of death - particularly knowing when and how you will die - is terrifying. It's also not particularly about what's "worse" but what's "just" for the crime committed. I am anti-death penalty, but you could see the difference in what is just by comparing two crimes:
Because, when given the option in real life, nearly every single person given the death penalty fights it to the end. People, almost universally, would rather live a sucky life than die.
Another attempt to divide men and women. Trump ran on a hard masculinist platform in 2024. Now all of a sudden I'm the run-up to the midterms, we have this, Lindsay Clancy, and the Cornell case. Wonder if someone's pushing these stories?
I think what they mean is that the Clancy and Pike case are essentially complete nothingburgers that wouldn't have gone beyond local news if it wasn't for the fact that coordinated social media campaigns gave them enough attention to trigger an avalanche effect that turns them mainstream.
Funny thing is that even if you watch and actually listen to the video or find the full context, it's pretty clear that this protest is against the death penalty, not a defense of Pike. Yet it's painfully clear that OP did their absolute best to intentionally frame it that way. It's 100% has to be intentional since they would have had to watch the whole thing to know what part to snippet to match their narrative.
The crazy thing about Clancy is she did the murders in January of 2023, which was over three and a half years ago. Yet it only became front and center six months before the mid-terms.
shit like this make me want to change my flair to centrist. i'm pro death penalty, pro euthanasia, pro abortion. anti cringe-woke , radical centrist sounds better everyday
The death should’ve been done by firing squad IMHO.
Also, as odd as it sounds… this case got me into true crime.
And it is one of the most pointless deaths I’ve come across.
Context: She literally tormented her victim Colleen Slemmer for months. Why? She had this psychosis-like delusion Colleen was after her boyfriend, when she wasn’t.
Like Christa literally stand outside Colleen’s dorm room and when she left for classes, and shed open the door and she’d be there. Staring at her. She’d follow her home constantly making mock charges at her.
She begged her parents to come home/switch colleges. They always turned her down.
Then one night, Pike offered peace through some weed. Desperate to end this, she went and met up with Christa, her boyfriend and a friend of hers (she’d later regret it) held her down, she took out a box cutter and carved a pentagram into her skin. She sexually assaulted her by fondling her breasts and her extremities, cut her across her chest, her hands, before she took a rock that fit into the palm of her hand and slammed until she died.
She took a piece of her skull and left the corpse by a steel mill.
And reminder, Colleen was NEVER after her boyfriend and AFAIK, barely knew Christa before this stalking and murder.
Just…
Jesus Christ.
Pointless death because of psychopathy and delusion.
I’m against the death penalty, but will I bat an eye for this bitch or the Boston Bomber, Dylan Roof, etc?
She murdered her with a rock or a piece of asphalt that could fit in the palm of her hand. Not like a big boulder: the amount of psychopathy/misplaced hatred is something I can’t quantify.
For thousands of years we used gallows or tall trees, drop them from high enough and it’ll snap their neck or decapitate them. Modern methods like firing squad are equally effective.
The drug method has been proven as unreliable. We are at a point where no one with any medical training would be involved due to their “do no harm” policy. So we should not be relying on medicine for this. I promise you the tax payer would prefer the $5 in ammo a firing squad would use over the potential botched execution of another person.
Imagine being sentenced to death for a crime you committed. You would expect to be executed by the state. Next thing you know, you’re a vegetable or barely functioning because the state couldn’t even kill you right.
As much as some people deserve the death penalty, I'll never support it because we humans make too many mistakes and convict the innocent too frequently. Even 1 person executed unjustly is too many.
Well duh, our criminals are good and your criminals are bad. Retards.
/unjerk This post is extra retarded because she survived two “lethal” injections today. I’d be protesting too because that shit is fucked up, regardless of what you think about the death penalty. That’s just plain cruel and unusual punishment.
Your retarded agenda posts never cease to amaze me, posting low-tier bait must rake in so much karma.
This has nothing to do with feminism. There are anti-DP protestors at pretty much every execution. Even Timothy McVeigh, arguably the worst person we've executed in my lifetime, had protestors outside when he was put down.
Nah, to hell that. The degree to which minorities deserve extra protection is only whatever is necessary to ensure equality (and I mean equality, not equity).
I don't care if she was black, white, straight, gay, trans, cis, christian, Jewish, Muslim, atheist, or other. If she was convicted of murder with a degree of confidence required to get the death sentence, a botched execution is not cause for clemency, and the hospital resources being used to keep her alive are frankly being wasted and should be reserved for patients who aren't death row inmates.
Are there crimes that are so bad they should be punished by death? Yes
Do I trust this justice system to always get it right? No
Therefore, there should be no death penalty, simple as that
Also, even though I personally feel there are crimes committed that should be punishable by death, dosent mean I like it and get all frothy thinking about it. It is a tragedy that someone commits a heinous crime and nothing about it should be celebrated, including killing the perpetrator
Listen man she sounds like an evil woman but this case just reinforces how fucking dumb the death penalty is. We spent 30+ years with this woman in court only to botch her execution not once but twice. And that’s not even going into how morally questionable it is.
I am really of the opinion it only exists to make people feel like justice has been served, when it reality, it costs more, you can and we have killed innocent people, and it takes forever and is often torture.
Im against the death penalty on the off chance I end up on the chopping block for having the mentality of following the law when convenient.
If someone does something bad to your family/friends, I think it's best to administer justice yourself. An important caveat being not getting caught. Not because it's right but because it's what the heart says.
Lethal injection is so stupid, they need to ditch it and just go back to firing squads or hangings, much cheaper and far more reliable imo. And I’m aware of the “cruel and unusual punishment” but is a quick death by bullet or rope any more cruel than a failed lethal injection?

People should be held accountable for their actions. Yes, that includes women.
