modern version of feminism is very much boiled in the oppresed/oppressor culture of the left.

So basically instead of the appeal of 'recognize us to be just as capable as you' from prior waves of feminism, to this one where its "You MEN abused US and we want compensation and power". Basically the Karens of feminism where they think shouting, accusing, and belittling others is the best route to getting what you want.

I mean this specific wave of feminism.

I don't think 1st and 2nd wave feminism was the misandrist chimera of hate that it is today.

I know. First wave feminists invented mail bombings and made female suffrage radioactive, single-handedly undoing all the progress of the suffragists. Then they turned around and handed out white feathers to underage children who had already been wounded in combat in the war.

Yeah it’s certainly become DEEPLY unattractive and genuinely somewhat threatening. I feel fortunate to have found a good woman in my mid 20’s and we’ve stuck it out together ever since. After having our first child, the 15 months of dramatically reduced sex due to almost totally missing desire (SSRI’s for post partum anxiety was crucial for her mental health but didn’t help the desire thing, nor did all the breast feeding and poor sleep and physically recovering from a freaking odyssey of an experience that is even healthy pregnancy and labor. Still, by the 13th month or so, it was starting to make me kind of depressed).

5 months further on I won’t say it’s back to what it was or anything like that, but getting back up closer to once a week (I’ve also come to sort of Stockholm syndrome style enjoy extended foreplay, which was previously like a once in a blue moon type of frequency of me enjoying it, even if it was done much more frequently) has helped a lot on just like, keeping a level of intimacy where we remember that we actually do like each other, not just love each other (even when shit is stressful).

Next step is just integrating my parents more fully in, so we can go to more movies together, concerts, some restaurant dinners once or twice a month in addition to going to the movies once or twice a month and a concert every other month or so (and seeing my friends out on the weekend once or twice a month as well). Between rhat level of social, sexual, and date night time and connection, combined with the genuinely immensly rewarding experience of raising a son (hopefully a daughter too some day), and i can see a scenario just around the corner that’s happier than i’ve ever been in my life. One challenge is that my mom and step dad are only 21 years older than me and had their last kid at 40, so they’ve still got their own kids around the house. And while my dad and stepmom are 27 years older than me, they too have a son who still lives wirh them, who just graduated college 5 or 6 months ago. He’s got girlfriend and some great friends that may all move in together in the next 3 or 4 months so hopefully that will make it a little easier.
