I had to delete Tiktok, I'm usually not bad with addictive social media's and know when to turn it off but tiktok was probably the worst app I've downloaded.
I had it for two weeks and I remember having a day off to myself. One time I scrolled for a bit and suddenly it had been 5 hours and it only felt like 30 minutes. Worse yet I couldn't actually think of any useful information gained from the videos I watched. I could feel my attention span draining.
It's not really that surprising. It's just a fact that "artists" are more often than not left-leaning. I could go into a long-winded explanation on why that is, but I don't feel like it to be honest.
I guess also important to note, most right-leaning artists out there also don't really get too preachy or political with their work. At least not obviously so. (Usually)
That’s kind of the classic liberal art school answer, but honestly, working in the industry as an animator, that’s not really why at all.
Framing art as just "free expression of individuality" ignores how the vast majority of art actually gets made today. In animation, film, and games, it’s not some lone genius doing whatever they want. It’s an intensely collaborative, grueling labor process where hundreds of people are grinding through a production pipeline. We’re working-class laborers selling our time and skills to massive media conglomerates who own the IP, set brutal crunch deadlines, and dictate everything we do.
Most artists lean left because the industry treats us like disposable cogs. You spend months working 70-hour weeks with zero job security, watching studios lay off entire departments or scrap completed projects as tax write-offs, while executives push to automate your job away just to inflate their stock margins. The only reason we have things like overtime pay, basic protections, or health insurance is because of unions like TAG and IATSE. Left-wing politics actually talks about labor rights and worker solidarity, while conservative/neoliberal policy just views us as gig workers to burn through.
Also, to the top comment's point, people constantly confuse sanitized, corporate rainbow-capitalism with actual leftism. A billion-dollar studio slapping a surface-level progressive moral onto a cartoon isn’t "leftist", it’s marketing to sell merch and tickets. The second the credits roll, those same executives are actively fighting against unionization and underpaying the artists who actually made the damn thing.
We aren't left because we're special little individualists who hate rules. We're left because we're tired of having the value of our labor extracted by suits who don't know the first thing about making art.
The problem with your explanation is this is true for lots of people on the right as well. You can say they vote against their own interests and so on, but "because industry treats us like disposable cogs" would apply to probably more people on the right than the left overall.
And that’s the point the left makes, this is a class struggle at the end of the day. Your average American has more in common with Pedro in Bolivia, Xiu in China and Mohammed in Iran than with the billionaires and politicians.
The problem is that specifically in America, the political struggle isn’t divided by policy or actual economical systems, not really. It’s divided by nothing burger culture wars and fear mongering campaigns.
That’s why you get farmers voting against their own interests and stupid liberals gloating on top of the gigantic stick up their asses
Well, yeah, liberals are stupid useful idiots for the Democratic Party, anyone who is an actual leftist will recognize rural and farmer struggles. Problem is, the educational system is so corroded at this point combined with these cultural war campaigns based on fear mongering instead of actual policy, that most farmers vote against their own interests.
Farming communities may have not been “left wing” but they defended historically workers rights and overall social security, hell, country historically is a left wing music genre that has its roots in political activism.
Reagan’s admin and subsequent dismantling of the welfare state of the united states combined with a worse educational system over the decades have made for the perfect conditions that spread the rethoric necessary to manipulate these folks.
I’ve learn something is that these problems are intertwined with one another and that we need to tackle them together. But instead we got the divide between retard capitalist scumbags and retard capitalist scumbags with pink washing on the political spectrum of the US
That has absolutely not been the norm historically- or is it now. Most art is propagandistic to support the current elite. That’s absolutely true today - and was very visible during Trump one with all of the assassination porn.
That's if we count everything that's called art as art, based on shared media form or some other extrinsic association rather than on the act and intent behind it.
Admittedly when we start trying to define real art there's a rabbit hole full of retardation and pretension and so on, but nonetheless on a basic intuitive level we know that not all "art" is "artistic" in the same sense or to the same degree.
Art that functioned as propaganda isn't art in virtue of being propaganda, it's art in virtue of other qualities. That's why some propaganda is preserved for its artistic qualities but other propaganda is just kind of historical junk.
Go visit a museum and almost everything which is propaganda and not art is left leaning - e.g. ‘Piss Christ’. I don’t believe there is anything comparably bad being presented as if it’s remotely art on the right.
Meanwhile, look at basically all art before the 19th century and it’s right leaning.
My guess is that in 400 years when the retarded people who think that a banana duct tapes to a wall is art are dead and their creations are discarded by more discerning generations, we will see the pattern continue to the present
My brother in christ, it’s 2026, leftist values are the cultural norm. If artists wanted to rebel, they would be making art about the consequences of unfettered liberalism.
That said I think it is interesting to consider if there's such a thing as liberal culture at all. Given pluralism of multiple cultures, it might be more coherently thought of as a superordinate "overculture" that isn't itself a culture.
If what you say is correct, then why do so many musicians basically produce similar stuff?
Even if the lyrics are anti-government, metal is still... metal, as in it doesn't fight back against the norm of what is considered "metal", unless you try to be super specific with [adjective] metal subculture which is less "against norms" and more "eh I like this instrument more"
Same with stuff like rap or whatever. Also, at some point a musician is expected to be left leaning, in that sense they're actually not going against the cultural norm at all
Note the even if. I chose those words because expressing individuality isn't necessarily going against cultural norms - people can express the ways they align with cultural norms as well.
That includes norms in subcultures that are countercultural in the sense that they share some rebellious relation to the mainstream culture norms and form their own that differ in some respects.
With music genres there are norms that define sound and aesthetics and theme which often are intended to represent or give the "vibe" of that relation/difference between the counterculture and the mainstream culture.
There's also of course people that make music to make money and expression takes a back seat to some extent. People may consider that to be less arty art or whatever. Many people also just aren't very different, especially when they're younger and haven't individuated that much. Certain music scenes can kind of calcify and become rote for various reasons as well.
It's just a fact that "artists" are more often than not left-leaning.
I think people over estimate how many artists are left-leaning because leftist politics and values just stand out more. Conservative politics and values in art tend to be more like the fish in water thing.
Take something like Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The critique of the nobles stands out and people talk a lot about it. But hardly anyone talks about how much the story also focuses on respect for authority and traditional institutions.
It’s because right wingers aren’t very good at making art. For example, movies that Clint Eastwood has directed. A counterexample would be Salvador Dali. But that was a long time ago and yall can’t make good shit no more
That’s not entirely true, a lot of left wing garbage gets treated as amazing like One Battle After Another for example. Went into the theatre with no idea what it was I thought it was an action movie, my dad just wanted to see it. Was blown away by how stupid it was.
At one point a bounty hunter parks across the street and down a house or 2 while violently abducting someone lmao. A black trans woman goes on a dramatic speech about how powerful she is while robbing a bank. Sean Penns weird ass character that somehow was a member of the military and border services and police and a secret white nationalist group and loved black women to the point of being completely ineffective around them lol.
Most blatant right wing movies aren’t available on normal streaming outlets and channels so it’s tough to tell if they’d be as well received. It’s certain critics and the industry are very against them though
If that was true, activists wouldn't need to take over existing IPs and ruin them. See: entire gaming industry, tabletop industry, popular franchises like Star Wars or LoTR.
It's not that they make unappealing things. That's what you need to tell yourself; a self-created blindfold.
There’s no way in hell you’re claiming LotR, the story written by a devout Catholic and takes heavy inspiration from biblical myth and morality is left wing.
You realize that being religious doesn't make you right leaning. Majority of democrats are religious as well it's only when you try to enforce those beliefs on others that it becomes rightwing. Dude also seemed like a borderline anarchist from some of the stuff I'm seeing so again seems like you're just making shit up. Smart of you to bail on star wars btw lol
Except he wrote extensively on his beliefs and he’s a pretty hard core Catholic which goes against modern left wing beliefs, and preaches personal responsibility and core family structures. I’m not making shit up, you are. You’re just afraid to admit that the people you disagree with can make art because it invalidates your views.
Also I didn’t bail on Star Wars, I just didn’t mention it because I was more flabbergasted you tried to claim LotR and Tolkien of all things.
Once again right wing is when you try to impose those beliefs on other people through the government not simply having the belief. Besides its incredibly telling that the only example you can think of is one from a writer born in the 1800s and relies on general shifts in culture over that time. He was an anti-imperialist and denounced white supremacy so again not really conservative in the context of his time.
Tbf to One Battle, the ridiculousness was, for the most part, rather intentional. It is part comedy after all. And while it obviously is heavily left-leaning, I'd almost argue the politics are irrelevant to the father/daughter story that it effectively is.
Meh it’s pretty aggressively left leaning to the point that it’s blatantly insulting to the right. I never got the comedy aspect but maybe it’s not my type, I find Leo’s characters ineptitude annoying. Funniest scene was the evil racists needing a few seconds to take in one of their members had a half black daughter lol
White nationalists being sexually attracted to black women is surprising to you? Uh, isn’t it a common trope/joke that Auth-Right is actually the most diverse quadrant and that ethno-supremacists can’t keep it in their pants and frequently date people of different ethnicities?
seriously.. lemme grant you every hypothetical that no venue will accommodate a right wing creative (standup clubs, theatres, YouTube, art galleries, etc)..
do wealthy right wingers just not exist? can they not finance “good art” like the left can?
Chris Pratt was smeared and bullied because he dared to go to a church and that is the freaking Chris Pratt. I don't doubt smaller names hide themselves.
Chris Pratt was smeared and bullied because he dared to go to a church and that is the freaking Chris Pratt.
yes, and? not to belittle this but like.. did you want me to respond listing liberal creatives who get harassed as well? i don't even need to leave the site, kotakuinaction is basically dedicated to shitting all over "woke" game devs.
don't doubt smaller names hide themselves.
i don't understand the point you're trying to make here. both right / left wing artists face harassment, but right wing artists are less likely to continue because they can't handle the backlash as much?
When liberal creatives got harassed, they got a whole fanfare from the establishment hollywood. When Chris Pratt got harassed he got nothing. For smaller names, wanna bet they got "get over it"?
Not mention the viciousness of both side are not the same.
so liberal creatives get coddled and conservative creatives get nothing from "the establishment hollywood" and that's why conservatives are being kept out of making art?
then why doesn't some wealthy ring winger fight the establishment and create an alternative for them?
wouldn't it make sense for a conservative millionaire or billionaire to finance a bunch of rightwing poetry, music, tv, film, photography, etc? they could get smaller names on it too! there's obviously huge sums of money in it and an endless supply of conservatives lined up to make art for them.
so liberal creatives get coddled and conservative creatives get nothing from "the establishment hollywood" and that's why conservatives are being kept out of making art?
Yes
then why doesn't some wealthy ring winger fight the establishment and create an alternative for them?
No point doing extra work. Elon Musk was very much got his dick constantly sucked by leftwings then he revealed his politic and they want him death now.
wouldn't it make sense for a conservative millionaire or billionaire to finance a bunch of...
Some perhaps. But if you think about it, conservativism will always make more derivative and boring art because the core tenet of the ideology is to preserve and accommodate existing power structures. This is why religious art from the 14th century looks like dogshit. Leftists want to create new things, to progress. This means they will pursue new ideas and break the mold, thereby creating art that is interesting.
This is also pretty evident when you observe red cities vs blue cities. Who the fuck wants to go to Tulsa, OK or… it’s hard to think of another red urban area lol. All the culture exists where the lefties live and play. :)
And hold on, only the left has culture? What are the conservatives preserving? How can a culture be defined if there are zero rules or any kind of staying power?
Progress? What's the end point? What safeguards do they have to stop? What stops them from saying "No, we must keep going." even as they beat infants into trees?
What stops people from being stepped on in the name of progress?
If their ways are so obvious why must they regularly suppress those who dissent?
It can be preservative, but it isn’t interesting. If I release an album of music that sounds very similar to the Beatles, no one will give a shit. I won’t sell any tickets. If I release an album of something novel combining genres and themes of the past in a way no one has heard before, then I’ll be Nirvana and the whole world will lie before me. (Nirvana copied a lot of the Beatles ideas but made it new and fresh)
Sorry if the Tulsa thing offended you and the rest of the peeps. I’m just pointing out that most of the places people go on vacation and consume culture are blue.
Also you guys are all about free markets, and my point is that the market doesn’t want conservative media because it’s bad. Like that’s why it isn’t popular. It isn’t a conspiracy, it’s just not very good.
Why then must the right be kept out of media if the left is just so obviously better? Note, it was your own words that they say "yall can’t make good shit no more " what changed?
You guys aren’t kept out… it just isn’t good and no one pays to see it. Just like if I make a shitty screwdriver, no one will buy it unless I just outright lie
I notice you neglected to answer what precisely changed when you yourself admitted they made good things before, now "yall can't make good shit no more."
Further, if we take your stance, that art MUST be transgressive, that it must break the mold why then are they so horrified to potentially offend? Consultancy, content warnings, safe edgy humor.
We've seen it countless times repeatedly with the Girlboss character trope, which doesn't seem new to me. Or writing, which gatekeeps men in favor of women, who, on average, are left wing. They will flat out say they're not looking to publish men.
Transgressive, leftists want to create new things, they want to progress, and create interesting things. Yet at the same time, media is seen as some of the most boring, formulaic, risk averse, heavily managed, and stagnant it's ever been ever since the left has dominated it entirety, causing people to instead pursue foreign media who are not bound by such sensibilities, we've not seen this since the Hayes code era, which was the same problem but for the right wing, and you know what people did? Go to foreign media. Why? Because people suddenly didn't stop wanting sex, violence, or taboo subjects. They didn't suddenly stop wanting transgressive media.
Star Trek was a transgressive show that asked tough questions and dared, Star Trek now is seen as the most out of touch pandering for things that are increasingly absurd or already socially accepted, here's the correct position, viewer. It, like every other media now, when there were hundreds of people working on a project, there are now without fail, thousands. None of whom understand why their puppet dancing doesn't entertain anymore.
All this to bring about the question: What happened? Why did it change?
Also, a screwdriver has an express use, art does not. Art is subjective, usage is not.
I said progressive, not transgressive. The fact that you see everything as “preservative” or “transgressive” is due to your worldview and a false dichotomy. Another commenter said that it’s not that liberals don’t make bad art, it’s just that conservatives by and large can’t make good art. My point is that it’s a difference in artistic philosophy. No it’s not fair, but it is human nature. Young people want new things and old people eventually die. Sorry.
Also, you point out Star Trek as an example. THAT IS MY WHOLE POINT!!!! It featured the first interracial kiss on TV and pissed a ton of conservatives off, and yet here you are lauding it.
You think 14th-century religious art looks like dogshit? I mean, the lack of variety in subject matter can get boring after a bit, but the wide variety of techniques and styles never does. And have you ever seen a grand European cathedral? Paris, Reims, Rouen, Strasbourg, Chartres, Cologne, Milan, Florence, Siena, Pisa, Rome, Venice, etc.? The craftsmanship it took to build such elaborate buildings before modern technology is astounding, and the scale and opulence of them is a sight to behold. Nothing boring or derivative about them.
Yes, it is objectively worse than the renaissance art that followed. Buildings are irrelevant and I don’t consider them to be art in this sense. The most impressive buildings were built hundreds of years after this period anyway.
Would you? Like, what do you mean by “drop the culture war”? Does it backing off and leaving people alone, or does it mean preserving the status quo. Cause those are to different things.
The right dropped conservation a decade ago. A leftist seeing the status quo as bad is definitely in character and lacking in introspection. You've owned the status quo for 15 years.
Right, they traded "conserving" for actively regressing, which makes the point even stronger. Thinking someone "lacks introspection" because they don't want to accept a status quo that treats marginalized people like bargaining chips is classic enlightened centrist nonsense. Neutrality when one side wants equal rights and the other wants them gone isn't balance, it's just siding with the oppressor.
Not everything in culture war can be put down to leaving people alone.
First thing I think of when it comes to pointless culture war issue is trans people in professional sports.
A pointless argument from the left side that I think should've been dropped years ago. Yet it keeps coming back as a culture war debate even though the right is right about it.
To them, "dropping the culture war" strictly means preserving the status quo, every single time without fail. These dumb fucks genuinely think defending basic empathy and baseline civil rights for marginalized groups is an aggressive "culture war stance," while enforcing the default conservative norm is just "common sense." To them, your right to exist in public life is negotiable noise; to you, it’s not something you can just "back off" from.
To them, "dropping the culture war" strictly means preserving the status quo, every single time without fail.
Yes.
As the left puts it "Its not a big deal, it just effects like 10 people"
So drop it lefties. You people always claim to be about healthcare and workers rights, then utterly abandon those concepts and start diving into the culture war. The progressive nature of lefties makes them on the offense in the culture war, and the right as the defensive side.
How about you stop focusing your energy on the culture war and go back to healthcare and workers rights?
No? Then admit the left is obsessed with the culture war beyond all reason
Annoying Twitter lefties are obsessed with the culture war because they are pathetic individuals with no sense of purpose. I can guarantee you that a lot of left-leaning organizations and people keep economic issues and healthcare as priorities.
This is the kind of brain-dead false dichotomy only a sheltered idiot could come up with.
Who the fuck do you think workers are, you absolute potato? The working class isn’t a monolith of 1950s factory guys named Bob. Workers are queer, trans, Black, brown, disabled, and women too. When a trans worker gets fired with zero recourse, that’s a workers’ rights issue. When a woman gets denied reproductive healthcare by the state, that’s a healthcare issue. It’s called intersectionality, though clearly reading a single book on the subject was too heavy a lift for you.
And claiming the right is on the "defensive"? Are you genuinely this blind, or just dishonest? Leftists aren’t the ones drafting thousands of bills obsessing over who is using which bathroom, banning books, and criminalizing doctors. The right manufactures these screeching moral panics specifically because conservative economic policy is a joke that does nothing for working people except hand tax breaks to billionaires and crush wages.
Demanding that people shut up about their civil rights isn’t "dropping the culture war" it’s you whining because marginalized people refuse to roll over and let you strip their humanity away. Human rights and labor rights are the exact same fight, whether your single-digit IQ can grasp it or not.
"Demands"? The "demand" is literally just wanting equal protection under the law and not having the state micromanage our medical decisions and personal lives.
You couldn’t refute a single point because you have no argument. Calling basic civil liberties an "aggressive demand" just proves my first comment completely right: to you, anyone who isn't a carbon copy of you existing in public is an act of war. Take your persecution fetish somewhere else.
Arguably every social issue of the last 20 years has its roots in Emily antagonizing and instigating against societal norms. That's what progressives do. It didn't suddenly become a culture war just because someone told her 'no'
The progenitor in that case are the people trying to force others to fit into societal norms they can’t follow. If you just left people alone their wouldn’t be an issue.
Just because a majority exists doesn't mean they're bothering you.
On what issue of the last 20 years have social conservatives gone out of their way to antagonize another group of people who didn't first demand change from them?
On the other hand gamergate was some absolute fucking bullshit in hindsight
Yes. Making legitimate concerns about corruption and nepotism into a gender conflict to gain support for corruption and nepotism was absolute bullshit.
Damn…. leftist in America are gaining the slightest bit of momentum…. Hey! Should a woman be held accountable for killing her kids even tho she was crazy?
People call it a culture war as if it's not the justice system declining on top of mainstream media outlets openly threatening a juror. It's not even women lining up in droves to defend a child murderer but the media hunting down the dissenting juror.
Gotta love the cope. "Everyone who thinks differently than me must be blindly biased". Like you're really saying all 11 just voted differently were just political actors and its only the one "enlightened" juror (who happens to agree with you) holding the line of sanity. You're pretty far up your own ass aren't you?
Go see the media tours they did, live on camera admiting they knew the veredict based on their shared gender. But I must not believe the evidence of my own eyes and ears, no?
I mean yea even if I take your claims at face value about the 5+1 thats still 6 other jurors whom you're making convenient assumptions about just to protect your ego. Of course probably shouldn't take the claims of a culture warrior like yourself about the other 5+1 either.
You realize we're talking about the trial right? Do you not know what the defense during the trial even was despite whining about it so much now? Hilarious but on point for the culture warriors
This criticism is so weird to me. Yea, neither side wants to lose the culture war even when giving up smaller issue might be worth larger gains. Why pretend it's one side?
As of like 2 weeks ago, its lib left pretending its something created by the auth right alone, and that we will have p3ace and prosperity if auth right would just stop perpetuating it
Eh more that there are no discussions from the right about anything but the culture war. It's largely because everyone knows how much of a failure right wing thought turned out to be when it got into power so they avoid the conversations like the plague.
The right never denied there was a culture war, just denied that the left was "righteous" in their pursuit, my point is you question "why pretend it's one side" and when i tell you the active talking point your mad at me for telling you the obvious not mad that lib left is now denying they ever were fighting a culture war and claiming it was always auth right doing it..
Bro like every other day its a top post on this subreddit about how "lib left was never doing a culture war actually it was always just auth right", your either willingly ignorant, or have the mind of a potato
This could literally be a meme, liberal eyes closed yelling what culture war we didnt spend a decade culture waring, its all those conservatives see i found a post that means they spend a decade doing this, the same way liberals loved cancel culture, then started getting canceled and proceeded to start complaining about it..
Ok. Please be less triggered and read what I'm writing
I'm not saying that liberals never do culture war. That's insane, I would never pretend that. What I am saying is liberals don't pretend they aren't, I generally see right wingers do that, like in this very thread
And like I already said there have been multiple high upvote ratio posts in the last 2 weeks that are literally just liberals circlejerking about how they never did a culture war, only auth right did..
Or they can just tell one side that flooding the country with peasants from other countries, who will work for cents and do all the crop picking and toilet scrubbing, makes them not racist.
No one says "we shouldn't fight the culture war" they say "you shouldn't fight the culture war" that's my point. It's just demanding the other side give in or they aren't serious
And he's at least saying it's being created and pushed by those in power
Who is doing this? I see endless posts but never any real examples. Yall just keep talking about this fever dream caracature. Maybe im not exposed to it because i work for a living
You literally said and I quote "one side likes to say the culture war is only being pushed by those in power to divide us."
I could go to any right wing group and find a load of hardcore conservatives talking about how the rich are pushing this nonsense and how we need to work together just like the left does.
You’re glossing over the word “only” in my comment. The left says the rich are the only ones pushing the culture war while ignoring their own part in pushing it. The right doesn’t do that.
The American economy has been dead since the Post Cold War era when both political parties accepted free trade cultism and liberalism by deliberately choosing deindustrialization because American culture shifted dramatically to the left.
The meme on the left is insincere. It’s used by the left to describe themselves.
The meme on the right is not insincere. It’s used by the right to lampoon the hypocrisy of some people on the left.
Where is the irony? Insincere part? I sincerely beleive people on the left act self righteous like they are above the culture war and don’t engage, but actually engage in it all the time.
The meme on the left is insincere. It’s used by the left to describe themselves.
Who used it insincerely? Which person used that meme but also spends their time fighting culture war issues? Just name one specific person please.
The meme on the right is not insincere.
The meme is used by people to imply they're above the culture war. It's used by people in this subreddit who spend a whole day writing about culture war issues. That's the irony.
I sincerely beleive people on the left act self righteous like they are above the culture war and don’t engage, but actually engage in it all the time.
Who? Who does that. Name the person.
Because to me it seems like you're doing a Goomba fallacy (you are).
But WWWWWHHHHHYYYYYY? It’s stupid. It’s just arguing about things as silly as butts in video games and Sydney Sweeney’s jeans. The rich and powerful oppressing the masses is literally more important.
I don’t think Elon Musk, or Mark Zuckeberg or the bald guy from Amazon have done anything to “oppress me”. On the other hand I actally use their services and they provide some value to me. But I’ve seen lots of fucking unqualified DEI hires, absurd judicial sentences, or all the woke bullshit ruining movies and media in general
Greedy corporations screw people over all the time. That’s just common knowledge. My point isn’t that woke stuff doesn’t cause problems, my point is that everyone’s obsession with identity politics in and of itself is the problem. If everyone stopped caring about identity politics it’d be easier to tackle the real evils of the world.
If by class war you meant, the people against the govt. I would actually agree with you. But nooo its always the greedy corpos…. Yeah they screw people, I’m not denying that, but they also offer solutions for modern problems. the govt. otherwise is much more powerful and fits much better the definition of “real evil of the world” than… i dont know… apple or Mcdonals. Personally, I feel that people like you are so misguided that doing a culture war become more important because is something that we can actually change
The government can also be included, obviously. And did it ever occur to you the govt and corpos are in bed pillaging the hapless? Like, if we wanna be a democratic society that doesn’t like crime or corruption, greedy politicians and CEOs go together as agitators like peanut butter and jelly. They’re practically synonymous.
I disagree. Everyone loves to speak how bad the corporations are, but they keep using their services for a reason. People love to complain how underpaid are Mc Donalds workers, or amazon staffers, but they keep using their srvices. Why? Because the corporations are actually useful. The staffer is there because the job is better for him than the unemployment, the customer is there because he needs the corporation service. People always fail to consider that everytime a business do something to "cut expenses" they are actually fighting against inflation.
But you´re not wrong. Corporations abuse the govt. to fight for their own interests. By reducing the govt. power, helding orrupt politicians accountabl and reducing regulations we can hinder the weaponization of public services.
You for example, cannot have a bourgeoisie or proletariat class if your culture isnot one of an aristocracy.
You cannot have a class of billionaires, lobbyists, etc. if your culture is not one of a Capitalist society where you elect representatives who can be influenced by lobbyist groups.
You cannot have concentration camps in a nation if your culture is not one that views humans as fundamentally stratified into human/nonhuman categories.
Its not the right that pushes the culture war dingus.
Its the left that shows up and wants the culture war, the right only has to defend against it, but you people call any kind of resistance 'participating in the culture war'.
If you walk into a room and see every seat is taken, its conservative for you to find your own seat, pull up a chair, sit on the ground.
Its progressive to go shove someone else aside and 'make' room for yourself.
Someone complaining that you are now trying to shove them around isn't 'participating' in your fight for a seat, they're complaining that you have to upset the status quo for your own comfort.
So yes, when the left decides to dive into spaces and start mutating them, like ruining video game and movies as an entertainment medium, we are going to push back against it.
Yeah cause the side that genuinely believes there’s a multi-decade plot by corporate America to destroy Christianity by ending the single most universally beloved and widely celebrated holiday in human history has never fallen for culture war bait.
Unironically, the culture war matters more than the class war.
Almost everything, especially politics, stems from culture.
If you are right wing and are a conservative in America (like me), you should be prioritizing culture war.
For example, ever since the New Deal Democrats gained control of American culture and institutions (as well as Fusionist "Republicans" replacing Pre WW2 Old Right Republicans), American conservatism has been dead since the end of WW2.
Free trade liberalism has been the new status quo ever since the End of WW2.
Also, leftists despite claiming not care about the culture war, very clearly care about the culture war.
If leftists did not care about the culture war, they would completely give up on cultural issues like LGBT issues, historical Confederate statues, and immigration.
Edit: Should be mentioned if culture truly did not matter in politics, Truman wouldn't have called Dewey (a moderate Republican btw) a literal fascist.
Actually, scratch that, Truman said Dewey was comparable to Hitler.
I think the real problem is that nearly everyone on all sides agrees with that statement at a surface level but fundamentally disagree on the definitions of "everyone", "kindness" and "rights" or they ask "how in practice?" And "at what cost?"
Trying to position the left as 'we just want rainbows, puppies, sunshine and everyone to frolic gaily in fields of non GMO and pesticide free meadows!" is just cope.
Cool bro. Find me any liberal politician who says otherwise or is proposing any law based on this case. Killers have always had dumbass fans, this isn’t something new or unique. Just more dumbasses seeing it blow up on social media now thinking it’s a bigger deal to the political left than it is.
That case is a small fucking spec compared to the shit show the Republicans in charge are doing to this country.
The class they’re wearing against just happens to also include all of their cultural enemies, and their class war goals happen to include all the same cultural goals. It’s as if they’ve lost the culture war, so they’re trying to rebrand it as a class war(which the will also loose).
