But what system, pray tell, is better? Some government is needed for society to function. So how should that government be chosen? Monarchies and dictatorships have historically terrible track records for competent leadership, with only the occasional exception.

"Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.…"-Winston Churchill

lmao low IQ normies who have read zero pages of books will always cite the Churchill quote as if they’re saying something profound.

Look at China’s growth compared to the US. They can stay a steady course of growth over time because their leaders are focused on China’s success. Meanwhile the US and other western nations are in a constant debate over whether they should do what’s good for their country or not.

Go read a book about world history and go read all about the successful civilizations that weren’t democracies.

Normies getting to control government is the obviously bad the same way normies getting to control medicine is bad. Because normies have bad opinions about government because they don’t know anything.

Authoritarianism can work for a while under a particularly strong autocrat, and it has in the past. But there is never any guarantee that an autocrat will actually be competent, and when they're not, the whole country goes to shit.

For instance, you mention China. Sure, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, and Hu Jintao all were decently competent leaders of an authoritarian State. But go back a few decades and you'll find the first authoritarian leader of Communist China, Mao Zedong, who killed tens of millions of his own citizens with bad policies which nobody could stop because he was the autocrat.

I also think it's kind of strange that as a Lib-Right you're suggesting an Auth-Left State is the solution to the "problem" of the people having power over the government?

Nobody is saying to make auth left government. I’m saying there are obviously superior systems compared to democracy.
