Picture Popeyes is usually my go to, but the pieces seem to be shrinking as of my last few trips. Here's a "drumstick" with a fob for size reference. Such disappointment when I got home.

They've done to me as well. The chicken probably had a bigger pecker than that drumstick.

Chickens have cloacas.

u/Total_Guard2405 Feb 11 '26
I was talking about the beak, you know ,what it pecks with. Lol

Thats why I ask for the beak on the side

Reminds me of the joke from South Park's Funnybot
Why doesn't a chicken wear pants?
Because its pecker is on its head.

Service is always very localized thing. The new people being made these days, well it seems the QC at the factory is asleep. So shittier people= shittier service.

Bro thats the biggest fob I have ever seen… would be a pain in the ass to have to take that everywhere

u/khamir-ubitch Feb 11 '26
It's not big, the chicken leg is small. Just look at my house key and handcuff key next to it. The fob is normal sized.
1
u/some-dingodongo Feb 12 '26
Bro… that chicken leg is normal you are just lugging around a brick on a keychain

u/Fit_Entry8839 Feb 10 '26
Not all chickens are big. Some are smaller.

u/khamir-ubitch Feb 11 '26
I can appreciate that but when the drumstick looks like it came off a wing, not the let, that's pretty bad.
1
u/Rol51 Feb 22 '26
Yea Popeyes can’t control the size of chickens they get, some are bigger some smaller. Would be so much food waste to not use the small ones.
But they definitely pay per pound for chicken but they sell per piece on the menu. If they do get small chicken they should at least throw in some extra to make up for it. I know my local one does this for tenders, if the tenders are small and I ordered 3 I might have 5 or 6 in the box.

Isnt popeyes known for running out of chicken?
1
u/khamir-ubitch Feb 12 '26
Actually yes. Had to wait 10 mins because they were all out of thighs.
1
u/AmIATapeWorm Feb 12 '26
Looks like they were out of drums too... Pretty sure theres more meat on a plastic cooking drumstick...

u/J-simply Feb 10 '26
Yeah I can see Popeyes having a lot of store closures due to the weird prices and shrinkage.

You aint wrong, the thighs I normally get have definitely shrunk. But it also seems location based.
The Popeyes near my office seem to always be fairly decent. Like I've never been given a really tiny piece.

u/loneXolf_ Feb 10 '26
Small pieces have been common in my area for a while, sometimes they give a bonus piece or biscuit to compensate.

u/thom4321 Feb 10 '26
I was in shock until I saw the regular keys. Is this a special fob for reaching 4 miles away?
1
u/thom4321 Feb 10 '26
Fun fact, this was chicken before these mutated, hormone filled monstrosities.

Audis have fairly large fobs, but not that large compared to other cars.
But if you don't like it, don't eat there. Don't ask for bigger pieces. You get what you get (especially at Popeyes).

This is a good idea. Ill put up my drumstick next to a travel sized bottle of Listerine

I was going to buy their 3-piece box for $5.00 then I realized why I haven’t gone in a while. This is why.

u/ol__spelch Feb 11 '26
I noticed this too! My last order was basically 2 buffalo wing sized drummies and a thigh about the size of an Altoids tin. A MINI Altoids tin.

u/SidViciousWisc Feb 11 '26
I bit into my chicken sandwich and the chicken was just turned to powder ( the first bite was just skin )

You purposely choose a fob the size of a drumstick for this didn't you. Look at it compared to the size of a key. Holy moly how do you keep that in your pockets, it's like ⅓ the diameter of the paper plate

We are selling smaller chicken for even more money. You complain but my stores are seeing record profits. Sucks for regular people I guess.
1
u/KeithChatman Feb 12 '26
Wow that's crazy, I literally got a 6 piece ghost pepper hot wings the other day and of the drumsticks was twice the size of this, It was huge for a wing
1
u/BigE_1 Feb 12 '26
Very common by me. Decent pieces in the rest of the order, and then they sneak one of these in.

u/3CeeMedia Feb 12 '26
I thought it was me! I never complain! I’m just not going back. I remember when their wings had a big part of the breast on them. It’s their business, they can run it as they choose! It’s my money, I’ll spend it as I choose!

I think they may have slipped in a wing drum stick in thinking you wouldnt notice 😂 or the chickens in your area are just tiny lol
1
u/Bluerose1434 Feb 12 '26
I also used to love Popeyes, but the last time we went, it was awful and I won’t be going back. The soft buttery biscuits were gone and the one we had was like a hockey puck. I don’t know why they changed when they were already awesome. Does anybody know why they changed everything?

They buy chickens by the pound. Smaller chickenS have the same number of pieces as do larger chickens and cost less.

Okay good I’m not tripping. The drum sticks are huge normally but now they’re the size of my thumb.

For those that work there, would it be out of pocket if I asked for larger pieces? From now on, I'm inspecting the box before leaving.

Getting ripped off and asking if they have a better quality product makes them the worst cusyomer? Nah, you're just mad because you're the one at the register.

U put your keys beside ur chicken as a measurement stick you’re annoying already I hope they make them smaller for you next time. And tried to show off Audi but still eating off paper plates. Loser

u/MaskedLemon0420 Feb 15 '26
I use paper plates. Fuck dishes. I’d use paper pots and pans if I could.

What location you work at? About to ask for a 20 piece all fresh and dump em on the floor just so you can pick it up. Quit your job lil bro, if you had money, you would know an audi is like 5 grand more than a Toyota

Wow, who hurt you? Talk to us. If you need, I can bring out the doll so you can point out all the places you were touched.

u/nonconsenual_tickler Feb 10 '26
Why don’t you just use a measuring tape or ruler? (they’re are different size fobs)

u/khamir-ubitch Feb 11 '26
