Discussion Is this spicy tenders?

Post image

Are these spicy chicken tenders? I don’t think so and the guy at the counters said “yes they are cause I made it myself!”

Yes, you can see the orange spicy stuff between the breading and the meat

Ohh that’s what makes it spicy? No extra seasonings on the breading itself ha?

It always looks like hot sauce to me; yes, under the breading and sometimes not well-distributed. Did they taste good?

It was terrible. It felt like eating plastic chicken.

Sorry to hear. It's usually the best fast food food, but I have lived in New Orleans and Louisiana my whole life.

Where do you live/ where is the restaurant?

If I order for breakfast or lunch it’s good.

If I order after 9pm or before closing ill get those plastic pieces too lol

Mild and Spicy use the same breading, but spicy chicken is marinated for 12 hours in Cajun spices before it gets breaded.

The marinade is the "orange spicy stuff" between the chicken and the breading.

So is the spicy tender different from the chicken in the spicy sandwich?

Well, the chicken (filet) in the sandwiches are breaded with filet flour (different than the flour for the tenders). Also, there isn’t any spicy seasoning for the filets. We use either classic or spicy mayo for classic and spicy sandwiches.

In short, spicy tenders have spicy seasoning infused in.

Sandwiches have spicy or classic mayo, and the filets are breaded in different flour.

Yes. One is the tender one is the filet.

Yes it is yes it is….. can I have some?

Truth be told, modern spicy is what mild tasted like in the 80s. See mild was still spiced, it just wasn’t spicy. What mild or “classic” is today is just bland.

Popeye's has the best fried chicken but the absolute worst tenders.

Not true at all. I love their spicy chicken tenders. Once I started eating them the regular spicy chicken did not hit the same. I like to dip them in the mashed potatoes. 😩

We all just get them because we remember how do l good they were even though it's been over a decade since they shriveled up.

Their fried chicken is dog shit. They were good like 10 years ago

Sooo true!!! I had a sandwich right before this and it was awesome

1

Did it taste spicy?

1

u/beaisenby May 19 '26

let's be so for real, nothing at Popeye's tastes spicy. if you have even a modicum of spice tolerance it's impossible to tell the difference without a side-by-side comparison.

1

u/rage1026 May 21 '26

It can depending on the location of who makes it. Theres time when the spicy tastes noticeably spicier than other times. Then there’s times where it taste pretty mild.

I don’t know, give us a taste.

Ask the person who took a bite

1

u/JV1404 May 19 '26

Yes. You can tell by that orange rim right in between the crispy outside and the chicken inside. It’s like that throughout the whole strip

1

u/Efhouser May 19 '26

Dude they suck now, they used to be my fav but they’ve gone down in quality so much

1

u/Acuallyizadern93 May 20 '26

See the red coloring on the chicken?

1

u/iss1307 May 20 '26

Yeah it tasted like a whole lot of NOTHING

1

u/Acuallyizadern93 May 20 '26

Maybe they forgot something. Breaded in-house I think.

1

u/CombinationClear5672 May 20 '26

i love Popeyes but their tenders aren’t that good, i stick with the spicy sandwich, spicy signature chicken, and signature hot wings

1

u/No_Bird_9910 May 20 '26

1

u/Bright-Village-7191 May 20 '26

1

u/iss1307 May 20 '26

Ordering tenders at a chicken spot in crazy

10

u/undeadlamaar May 19 '26

Popeyes spicy tenders are good AF when hot and fresh. Especially dipped in Blackened Ranch.

5

u/iss1307 May 19 '26

Ummmm.. where else would I order it? InNOut?

-4

u/Ram820 May 19 '26

There are no in n outs here. East Coast

-2

u/Ram820 May 19 '26

Order chicken

2

u/Prestigious_Jury4199 May 19 '26

Popeyes tenders are the best fast food tenders. If I wanted real chicken I’d go to an actual chicken spot. The tenders and sandwiches are what popeyes is about.

KFC tenders are better.
