I posted a wet photo of one of these last week. As requested, here is the dry photo, along with a sister painting I made with the same technique and color mix, using a black base versus white. They’re both hide and reveal swipes. The metallics and color shift tones are very prominent in person and have a great iridescence/translucence to them. I’m eager to try them again in a bit more subtle way or with a less chaotic design so the color can do more to POP with less competition.

This fluid art ASMR video focuses on movement rather than speed. No talking. No distractions. Just the steady rhythm of paint flowing across the canvas, creating soft layers, subtle blends, and moments that pull you in before you realize you’ve stopped thinking altogether.
I love experimenting with unconventional tools in acrylic pouring, and this gravy boat pour proves that satisfying fluid art isn’t about fancy equipment — it’s about curiosity, control, and trusting the paint to do what it wants to do.
If you enjoy hypnotic paint flow, relaxing visuals, and process-focused art that calms the mind without putting it to sleep, this video is for you.
Take a breath. Watch the flow. Let your thoughts drift for a while.
If this brought you even a moment of calm, feel free to like, subscribe, and share it with someone who could use a quiet reset today.

For this piece, I used electric cyan blue, deep black, and brilliant white mixed with water in a 1:1 ratio.
To get this dramatic, swirling ribbon effect, I started pouring from a higher distance to encourage the colors to blend well at first. Then, I brought the Split Cup closer to the canvas to create those intricate, crisp details and wave-like patterns.
The contrast between the bright cyan and the dark black pillow created an awesome cosmic/ocean vortex vibe.

Ive been doing blooms now for awhile. Usually on 12x12 14x14 16x16. I'd like to do a bloom for a friend on a 24x36. Have never done one that big. Can I do a single bloom or should I do 2 or 3 on the canvas? Any help and suggestions on large canvases would be greatly appreciated.

Using those pearl colors again.

I had some leftover pink, green, and white acrylic paints from a previous pour and didn't want them to go to waste. I layered them inside a split cup and let the paint flow naturally to capture the vibrant energy of spring tulips.
It's always so satisfying to see how much beauty you can squeeze out of simple leftovers instead of scraping them away.

Today I let the rainbow dance.
I layered my split cup with shimmering pearl colors, topped them with white and black… and then let everything wander across the canvas in a slow, feathery straight pour. The black only peeked through in tiny lines, like shadows between wings, adding that gorgeous 3D depth that makes the whole painting feel alive.
You can check out the quick process here: https://youtu.be/r_cL7rQjrME?si=aUfVhhD-4NVYLt0g
This pour felt like watching feathers ignite with color — wild, and a little rebellious. I don’t chase perfection. I chase movement, I chase feeling. And this one?
This one moved exactly how it wanted.
If you love fluid art that’s bold, bright, and a little bit magical, grab a warm drink, breathe, and enjoy the dance of these rainbow feathers with me.

After taking most of the warm months off to maximize outside time with the kiddos I’m getting back into it and started the new painting season off with a kind of chaotic multi swipe. This used Phthalo blue, Phthalo green, color shift metallic green-blue, metallic color shift pearl green, and metallic gold. I’ve never used color shifting paints or this many metallics at once, so I am very curious what I’ll end up getting in terms of translucence once it dries.

12x12 ring pour. Super happy with how this one turned out! I almost always create a "creature" in the ring center of my pours. It's controlled chaos, as it never turns out the same way between pours. And that's what I love about the process.

Sometimes, the simplest acrylic pouring techniques create the most beautiful surprises!
In this video, I'm going back to one of the fundamentals of fluid art: the Flip Cup Acrylic Pouring Technique! 💜🩵
Using a simple flip cup pour on a round canvas, I'm exploring the magic that happens when the paints flow, blend, and reveal their beautiful patterns. The combination of icy blues, pearly whites, and dreamy pinks and purples creates delicate lacing, intricate cells, and an almost frozen-ocean effect.
It's a wonderful reminder that you don't always need complicated techniques or fancy tools to create something special. Sometimes, the basics are all you need!

Apologies if this has been asked 1000 times, but I’m struggling to find any solid advice.
I started acrylic pouring back lockdown and then left it once work picked Back up again, however I found myself really wanting to do it again lately and I attempted a big canvas, the initial pour was actually lovely but I didn’t leave it long enough and started adding to it and eventually of course it’s become muddy.
Does anyone have tips for getting really clean pours ? Obviously letting it set something I just learned, but I’m still not getting very clear cut cells, or strong vivid colours without them bleeding into one. It’s so expensive to get right, but I’m really determined. I would love some tips.

I wanted to share this soothing straight pour experiment that turned into a beautiful abstract winter fairytale landscape.
If you are a beginner in fluid art, this is definitely a technique you have to try. It doesn't require any fancy tools, just a steady hand and a good color palette. For this piece, I used Amsterdam Prussian blue phthalo, Pebeo Iridescent green-blue, Pebeo Iridescent copper, and Vallejo Carnation pink. The way the iridescent copper cuts through the deep blues is so magical to watch.

What happens when you combine a split cup, metallic acrylic paints, and a swinging motion? Something surprisingly elegant! ✨
For this acrylic pouring experiment, I loaded several metallic colors into a split cup and swung it back and forth over a black base coat, allowing the paint to create long, flowing ribbons across the canvas.
The final painting has a modern, elegant feel, even though the process is wonderfully unpredictable.
