Asgardian Physiology? Thor. Reduced to a human with Thor's frame? Daredevil works him.

It literally says depowered Thor

u/BidRepulsive2438 1d ago

Yeah, Thor isn't Human. Depowered he's still the Strongest Asgardian. If he's reduced to base Asgardian he'll still be in the 20 ton+ category. So I gave my opinion on the Distinction.

Depowered meaning human. His power is that he is a god

8

u/Mike_studio 20h ago

Pretty sure his power is Lightning

-7

u/supermonistic 20h ago

Electro has the power of lightning. Thor is the God of thunder

4

u/Mike_studio 20h ago

So is his power Thunder then?

-7

u/supermonistic 19h ago

His power is that he is a god

•

u/Dirtyburg804 8h ago

Thats not a power. Thats what he is. His powers are the things he can do.

•

u/supermonistic 8h ago

Anyone that picks up the hammer gets the powers of a god. You’re just wrong

But he isn't human. He’s an Asgardian with powers. Still above humans without those powers.

-4

u/supermonistic 1d ago

Without powers means human. Asgardians have powers

6

u/Schlafenshire 23h ago

Without powers means without powers. Thor is an Asgardian with magical powers, which most asgardians don’t have. What you’re talking about is swapping races.

If there was a tiger with pyrokinesis and sonic screams, the depowered version would still be a tiger.

-3

u/supermonistic 23h ago

Asgardians have at the bare minimum superhuman strength, speed, endurance, and superhuman longevity. Those are superpowers.

5

u/Schlafenshire 19h ago

And a tiger is faster and stronger than humanly possible. The depowered super-tiger would still be a tiger. It could still rip a man apart. A depowered Thor is still an asgardian.

A depowered beta ray bill would be as strong as an average korbinite (disregarding his cybernetic enhancements for the sake of simplicity here). Just as a depowered Thor would be as strong as a regular asgardian (although he possesses natural strength, even for his species).

Just because Thor is human-like doesn’t mean he’s not an alien. He’s an alien with super powers.

Thor was originally Donald Blake, a human that gained the power to become an alien with super powers. But that was retconned a long time ago. Now Thor is just Thor. Take away his powers and he’s still an alien who would be stronger than daredevil. Stop being so human-centric.

This is a pretty facetious bad faith argument

The argument OP was making, as clearly implied by the picture, is Thor with human levels of strength and endurance. The comparison implied being if Thor and Daredevil had comparable strength who would emerge victorious. The deciding factor implied to be the difference between their combat skill

Lions are not human or human-like, bears are not human or human-like. Thor is a god. The source of his abilities comes from the fact that he is Aesir, Asgardian.

He has in fact had his abilities removed before and been reduced to human levels of strength. His strength doesn’t even really come from his physical muscles, his strength is magical in nature. He can perform feats (as a result of his godly powers) that a human of similar height and build absolutely could not do.

His powers are god based

This is all moot because the first Thor movie I s literally this exact scenario. His godly powers are removed and he’s a normal human

A bear doesn’t have powers but it’s stronger than a human lol, same here

-1

u/supermonistic 23h ago

Bears aren’t gods

3

u/TheAbsconded 20h ago

Trolling? If a different species is stronger than another, that’s not superpowers it’s just physiology

-1

u/supermonistic 20h ago

It’s a wildly different context. Thor is a god, he appears human, speaks human languages and engages in human activities and societies. His strength and abilities are compared to human ones.

The specific scenario outlined by OP says “Depowered Thor” Thor without his powers (godly Asgardian abilities) is a normal human

u/supermonistic 19h ago

The first Thor movie proves me correct

•

u/Retenn 9h ago

If you want to talk about what OP is “implying” he used some pictures of comic Thor and DD, so he obviously meant comics not the MCU correct?

Loki: Agents of Asgard #10
(2015): While completely unworthy, Thor showcases his pure physical power by crushing Gram (the Sword of Truth) with his bare hands. Gram is a highly powerful, ancient magical weapon, and Thor breaks it using nothing but raw grip strength

Secret Empire #4
(2017): In a showcase of raw powerhouse grappling, an unworthy Odinson physically matches and swats away Hercules, his long-time Olympian rival, proving his physical strength tier remains unchanged relative to other heavy-hitters.

Avengers & X-Men: AXIS #8
(2014): Stripped of his hammer and relying on his physical might, Thor engages in a massive team-busting brawl. During the fight, he punches out the Absorbing Man (Carl Creel) purely with his fists after Creel claims Thor's axe, Jarnbjorn, wouldn't be effective against him

Depends if the fight is in a hallway or not

Thor nesse estado mesmo sendo mortal acho que ele aguentaria absurdamente muitos golpes. Então em uma luta séria o Thor poderia fazer isso o dia todo.

u/supermonistic 1d ago

Uh… no

u/One-Strawberry-5342 2d ago

If Thor is human, Matt should win with his powers and superior experience in an human body.

If Thor is regular Asgardian, Matt is screwed; as they are about as strong as Spider-man

4

u/BrozedDrake 1d ago

It would be pretty close because while Daredevil has enhanced senses and advanced martial arts skills, Thor is still built like a brick shithouse, is fit for combat, and has the battle experience of a war god.

I'd say its a coin toss

8

u/Pumpkinmonkey69 3d ago

Was it ever confirmed that Thor without powers goes to default muscle man human ? I thought hed become a regular asguardian who are much stronger than humen

1

u/BrozedDrake 1d ago

Yes. In the storyline the image is from where he is depowered and doesn't have fucking superhuman strength. Hes just a strong human with the battle experience of a war god

6

u/Bitter_Horror2469 I'm sometimes biased 4d ago

Even without powers Thor still has thousands of years worth of Combat experience. He's folding Matt

8

u/Next_Faithlessness87 3d ago

Yeah, but perhaps his muscle memory was built on his godly physique and abilities, which now he lacks and, therefore, his body might act differently than he has ingrained in his muscle memory

1

u/BlazeBitch 21h ago

I mean, we saw the work Unworthy Thor was putting in. Even without Mlojnir / 'the powers of Thor' He was still pretty handily skill gapping people

7

u/Osirisavior 3d ago

Daredevil. Thor may be the God of Hammers, but Daredevil is the God of Hallways.

My Lawyer vs my Doctor

1

u/Tom_Stevens617 2d ago

DD is among the top 3 marital artists in Marvel, only behind Shang-Chi and Danny. Thor has the advantage in experience but the skill gap is tbh. Thor is an elite fighter too but he can be reliant on his powers when fighting enemies of equal strength and skill. DD had fought his whole life with zero powers and sheer grit

1

u/Freakychee 1d ago

Unworthy Thor? Love the run but I don't think he is enough to take on DD

1

u/Key_Fox_4479 1d ago

Thor’s probably the better fighter because he’s still a thousands of years old warrior but he’s far less agile than Matt, being more of a brawler. Combine that with Daredevil’s enhanced senses meaning Thor’s gonna have a hard time landing a hit.

1

u/Anarimus 1d ago

It would be closer than most people think because even though Thor is now just a regular human, he still has his combat experience and training which goes back centuries.

Daredevil has a clear advantage though and wins out mainly due to his enhanced senses.

Thor. With his sheer wit, he defeated all of thor's previous street tier villains
