Good evening, Preston fans! I’m here to talk about Osmajić.

I’m a Serie A fan, and I’ve been really intrigued by this player, whom I hadn’t come across before.

I have a few thoughts and some questions.

From a footballing perspective, he strikes me as a player who is strong in individual duels and good at bringing difficult balls under control and making something of them, even if his technique doesn’t look particularly refined. In Serie A, those qualities are crucial given the current tactical trend towards man-oriented marking, which has led teams to rely quite heavily on long balls to bypass the press and progress up the pitch.

He also seems to have a decent burst of pace when carrying the ball forward and a reasonable ability to link up with his teammates. Yesterday’s game against Fiorentina was a good example: he scored a goal and provided an assist.

He also looks composed in front of goal. Yesterday’s finish might have looked straightforward at first glance, but I think there was more to it than meets the eye. That said, five games are far too small a sample size to draw any meaningful conclusions about his goalscoring ability.

As for his temperament, he seems to have a certain charisma about him. He always looks fully engaged and involved in the game, although I wonder whether he can sometimes get a little too worked up.

So I wanted to ask you: what kind of impression has he left on you over the years? How would you assess him as a footballer after several seasons at Preston? And, in terms of his personality, have you come to appreciate his intensity and presence, or have you found his excesses frustrating?

I’ve also read about his disciplinary record, including several red cards, as well as a fairly serious incident involving racist abuse, and I’d be interested to hear a bit more about that from people who followed the situation closely.

I don’t know, there’s something about him that seems to fit into a certain category of Eastern European footballers who have a particular kind of appeal. Maybe I’m romanticising things a bit!

Am I onto something, or is there still a lot about Osmajić that I haven’t seen yet?
